As someone who was bullied, I ended up trying to take my life (thankfully i failed) as I could not cope. I was bullied, because of, dyslexia! Just like yourself, it was never picked up. Peach paper with black text works well for me. Or you can get colour overlays for letters. As for the bags, they are lovely, just a tad out of my price range sadly. Velocity is sick, though!

@@NBundyElectrical Thank you. Yeah, I am. That was 2 decades ago, but the scars (mentally) are still there. I do agree and hope like you say that this video does help someone. It's horrible thinking something's wrong with you when you don't know but the second you find out, that you have dyslexia, it is like a weight comes from your shoulders.
Yes I'm dyslexic.and went through a kind of hell at school, what with other children in the same year.and teachers , my school years was late 1960's . through the 1970's .and dyslexia was not recognised .and so I was classed as being 'slow ' and disruptive and was put to the back of the class and a ' D' hat put on my head .
It was not until 2012 I was properly diagnosed.
Yellow film over a page helped me.
You find there was stigma long time ago,but I find people are more open to discuss .my heart goes out to you .
@@Lizzard-t Sounds awful, being treated by teachers like that. Thankfully today, I think more people understand what dyslexia is and understand it's nothing to do with intelligence levels, unlike back in the day.
Been watching your channel from the start. All the way back to the outside supply vid and the sleeveless vests that followed. Always been a favorite of mine 👍 You genuinely seem like a nice bloke, hard working and you're decent with Adam. I hope you keep putting stuff out. i still have my "toolen bangen "! (i really dont know what make it is but i bought it in German back in the late eighties when i did some work there !! ) and it serves me well for the work i do , i still have an early eighties TE17 i bought in 1989 which apart from an oil seal and some new oil is STILL going as is my Makita 9.6 i bought in 1986 which also is still going

Yeah my dyslexia wasn't flaged till secondary school I was written off in primary school got help in secondary school then had a meeting with my careers advisor at end of school he asked what do you want to do son I said be a spark he looked me right in the eyes n said you will never make it.... at that point I said to myself I'll show you... & I did im now a selph employed spark but its true how much a negative response can affect you I'll never forget his words 👏👏👍
Yes I been bullies as l am profoundly deaf. They bullies me all the time as i did have dyslexia and being deaf at hearing school. My parents couldn't afford me to go deaf school. I nearly took my life to give up but l couldn't.
Parents took me to English speaking board therapy at university. I tried my best, then eventually l learned and can speak well to communicate with people.
I love watching these videos of you two kicking about getting up to mischief. Nick and Adam you both wear your hearts on your sleeve putting yourself out there to your followers to help new sparks spread positivity and entertain. Unfortunately people feel the need to be so negative towards people that are successful to attempt to bring them down a few pegs it makes them feel good about them-self and it’s sick. The main thing to remember is your not the one in the wrong here. What they say is them only attempting to make themself feel better because their life is shit.
Stay positive and keep talking to people is the main thing don’t bottle shit up. There’s a good charity out there called “Andy’s man club” set up as meetings all over the uk hosted at 7pm-9pm Monday nights (the most common time for male suicides) the #itsoktotalk movement is an interesting one and I think it would be good for you to try team up with them somehow to advertise a charity to help blokes like you, Adam and your viewers prevent male suicide and spread the message that it’s ok to talk.

Nick quick question I finished my level 3 but never went on to do my portfolio or AM2 this was 3 years ago... would it be hard for me to get back into it and find a job or someone willing to put me through the rest? I worked as an apprentice for 4 years so I have the knowledge for industrial, commercial and domestic, as our company did all sorts of jobs... just wondered if i could get back into it if I wanted too. Thanks..

I am 51 soon, dyslectic, my 9 year old spells better than me, I hide 🙈 at Christmas went the scrabble comes out. Don’t give up on getting better, it is like anything you can improve, it is hard, much harder than for ‘normal’ people, who ever they are? I am better, still rubbish, than I have every been.

Always love yours and Adam's content mate! I discovered your videos whilst I was Furloughed in 2020 as I was really missing engineering banter and being out and about. You guys truly kept me sane and smiling! Buggery to the trolls, you guys keep spreading the positivity! I can honestly say that I wish this sort of stuff existed when I was an apprentice, You, Artisan, MJTiff and PBPlumber, to mention a few are what make the industries great ones to be a part of!

I too am dyslexic mate, I’m 42 now and all through my school years I was told that I was thick and lazy and would never amount to anything. Well I earn more than any of my teachers now as a renewables engineer so who’s laughing now 😂 keep the content coming chap, shame you don’t live closer always in need of a good spark ⚡️

What a great video thank you. I am also dyslexic I think you find a lot of electricians are. Obviously I’m using predictive text. I struggle with reading I never remember what I’ve read from line to line. I have to read it three times. Plus also I read different words they appear different. Oddly I was diagnosed Junior School. It’s an interesting subject as most entrepreneurs and Architechs Have dyslexia
It’s really funny one of my best friends is like a grammar police. I personally couldn’t give a monkeys about my grammar more than happy to walk through the town centre naked then give two shits about what people thought of my grammar. If you’re running out of people to give bags to one of my apprentices Will have one. Have a good weekend mate 👊👊

As someone who was also bullied all through out school because i suffered from very bad eczema which then effected my reading & writing i know that feeling. Even now at 41 im a gamer youtuber & twitch streamer & still get made fun of in different way & 1 of the main questions i always get ask is why no camera on stream & when i tell them about my condition & how i couldn't feel comfortable on stream with a cam there always like ppl wont make fun of u BUT they have never been in that situation before when ive been dealing with it all my life. im no electrician but for some reason i found myself enjoying watching ur videos for a while now, keep up the good work & ok bye bye now

Nick just want to say I'm not a electrician but really enjoy the content and wish I knew or believed I could of been a electrician when I left school. So think you talking about dyslexia and being in a trade is a massive thing.

velocity is sick, bullied due to parents splitting up at a young age, i am now a proud stepdad to three brilliant kids, a nurse, a care worker and a chef, gave them what my dad didnt give me, the tools and beleif to succeed at whatever they choose to do in life.

But why not a shoulder strap for the NB100??!! It's the ideal small service bag I need, but I walk about 5 miles a day around site so a stap is a must 😒😒
Great channel have been maintenance spark for over 35 years domestic/ industrial like watching your channel and see many problems I encountered in my early days and as I never had to do eicrs I find it very informative 👍 rock on 🤘also u are so kind to your apprentice, I never was treated so good 👍

Great Video as usual Nick. Keep up the good work. I think the comments you made about the kitchen fitter drilling your cables is what might have stimulated a big negative response on that vid. You mentioned in this vid about the impact words can have, a real big impact if it's verbal comments instead of text or written word. Your video was a bit negative about the kitchen fitter if I remember correctly, and your words were spoken to a huge audience. You still believe that your cable routing was not at fault in that kitchen but have decided to alter the way you do them in future. Takes a big man to admit His errors, if this is an admission ??? One of the best guys I had work for me was Dyslexic , he couldn't even recognise his own writing when shown it but was one of the cleverest problem solvers I've ever met ( and I'm 55 ) . Could fix and repair almost anything .

It took my parents years of fighting to get me diagnosed as Dyslexic. Didn't find out till I have year 8 at secondary school. Didn't help that back 20+ year's ago Dyslexia was dirty word.

Great video,I watched that video of the kitchen,you was within your zones,not your fault if the kitchen fitter comes and changes the plans from the drawings,I've been in the same situation where kitchen fitters change the design from the original drawings,I'm sure others have too,you always get the idiots who lot of criticise, keep up the good work mate 👍🏽

In all seriousness mate, you've done some real good, especially as an example of a working bloke that's making the world a better place. Might sound stupid but there are some young guys out there who never see men out there earning a living so never believe that's a path that's open to them.
