I'd love to see you rank various brands of dairy replacement products - cream cheese, sour cream, butters, and sliced/shredded cheese (because those are always harder to replicate than cheese _sauces_).
Also - have you ever reviewed Miyoko's Creamery products?

well I remember there was already a dry soup taste test. I think there might've been long ago a canned soup test. There's definitely cheese tests out there. I guess what's left are juices, hummus, etc. - but that's not really a vegan rank.
I guess we'll have to go with egg!! I actually am hoping an uncooked egg test - as most of these brands really are amazing uncooked - the just egg is like a nice soup, the eggless brand is like a tahini substitute on falafel. Please I hope to see this!

I think the reason the Amy's was 8 oz was because it included the sauce/liquid in that weight, while the other boxes with the powder packets have dehydrated pasta and no liquid in the sauce so that's why they weigh less but end up making more food.

I think it's important to remember to cleanse your palate after trying each kind just because I'm sure many of them had lemon juice and so with making vegan cheese there are a lot of ingredients that get put together that maybe your pallet was overloaded and so that's why each one tasted worse than the last the only one that got a clear shot was the first one that's why the first one was your favorite besides the Annie's vegan Mac at the end.
So Annie's has a vegan mac and cheese in the singles version like instant Mac and it is really good

I know you've probably done Mac n Cheese before, but if you do like... vegan meats next or something! Or whatever else! Then you could maybe end it with like, "if none of these options are available near by, or allergy friendly for you, here is the way i make it at home" maybe even including options to subsitute the top ten allergens? Just a thought! I loved the random inclusion of gluten free (they do often end up in the same or next door sections haha) ❤❤❤

Pastabilities is the best for a powdered mac swap (like kraft), Modern Table is great if you want a filling bowl of cheesiness, and I actually really like Howl. I think the tartness is a great change of pace from many of the other vegan macs that are just thick and saucy with no flavor. You should test Howl again on its own, it isn't really a "replacement" mac as much as its own unique creation, more reminiscent of sharp cheddar sauce.

    1 onion finely chopped
    1 1/2 cups tomato passata
    1/3 cup water
A hand full of red lentils
    Spices:
    Oregano
    Basil
    Rosemary
    Salt
    Pepper
    Sugar
(I had du calculate the measurements because normally i eyeball everything.. and normally we use „ml“ and not cups but i hope its right 😂)
So u sate the onion for about 2 minutes and then adding the carrot to sate for an additional 5 minutes or until they look good🙈 then u add the tomato and water and all of the spices and the lentils and let it cook until the lentils opened and the consistency is nice and creamy. ( usually takes like 20-30 minutes) and stir every couple of minutes or so.
I personally eat this with spaghetti but u can use what ever pasta u like 😊
If the sauce is too liquidy you should add some more lentils and let it cook a bit more and if its too stiff just add some water till the desired consistency is reached.
This dish is so freaking good (at least in my head) and i would absolutely LOVE if u tried it because it’s healthy and tasty 🥰

as a vegan who has never liked cheese i have little to no experience with mac and cheese but this was super interesting! i’d love to see you review other things! but especially on a scale of “is it good” rather than “is it exactly like the non vegan version”

Loved this video. I had the same experience with the Howl brand. So unexpected and disappointing. However, I improvised and added bbq sauce to it and I think I saved it since you can't really taste the sour anymore.

I definitely am a bargain hunter - I buy vegan mac n cheese when they're discounted. I got mine for $2.50 - but I've seen some for $1. The issue is most of them are just expensive. I thought where I live is pricey - now I'm wondering where you live that costs so much!

The Annie’s macaroni and cheese is my faveeeee with some extra nooch. It goes on sale often (Buy one get one free). I used to love the Amy’s one too, but it’s expensive and never goes on sale at my grocery store.
Also I tried the Howl Mac once too and it was definitely sour. I was SO MAD I wasted my money on it. So awful.

Your hair looks good with highlights! I'm pretty sure Daiya is my only option in Ontario. We also have a brand "Gogo Quinoa" that is decent. I used to go shopping in Buffalo to get some Annie's. I'm looking forward to open boarders.

I like the red lentil pumpkin sweet potato annie's! It's so funny that I sometimes just buy it for the packet inside and use the lentil in soup - because it disintegrates completely. It's practically a soup base. So I buy mung bean noodles and add the cheese packet on top - it's like the maruchaun cheddar cheese! Then I use the lentil pasta with the mung bean for soup.

The Amy's looks like less, because it is less. The 5.5 oz of the others is the dry mix that you are then adding water to, and essentially doubling the amount. For the Amy's that's 8oz of already prepared food, hence why it's less.
