I'm glad to see that John Nettles is very aware of HOW MANY BODIES they are putting in every show. He seems to know that it's absurd too. i did like him and miss him as Barnaby.

It disappoints me that he gives the cliched answer that the host is clearly angling for re: England. Finding people who are positive about England and Englishness is nigh impossible these days - most fall firmly in the camp of lamenting what was lost or agitating for more to be destroyed. I suspect that Nettles is in the former camp but doesn't want to give himself away.

Hahahaha I was thinking just that…here’s me watching all these Scandi / Nordic detective dramas etc and completely forgetting that they probably get/watch our stuff ….for some reason I know they show our old stuff comedies like Faulty Towers, Mr Bean etc but never even thought our crime drama would be as equally liked….no idea why I think that. He’s right about Englishness and it’s definition. I think in multicultural cities like London it’s gone and replaced with cultures from other countries and places, but when you venture out of the main cities and travel to the rest of the country then there are still ‘Englishness’ but even that seems to change with each generation as how they act/behave and what they want / expect in life differs greatly from those that come before…his example of saying ‘Sir’ in class to a male teacher is one such example.
The most exiting man in our universe and I´d looove to meet him just one time so I could tell him how much he means to me 💓😽 I have watched him so many many years now and he is a real gentleman so handsome and talented in eveything he does !!!💝💗💞💕💋 Love him dearly 💞💕💖💋

I always have trouble understanding John Nettles on Midsomer. His voice sounds to soft and mumbly. However in this interview. I found him much easier to understand.
