Exactly! Nettles literally MADE the series. Without him... the substitute Insp never grabbed my interest. No appeal, not the warmth and old British aura of Nettles. I also liked Nettles' stiff lip way of speaking, his upper-class accent that seems natural... yet never came off as arrogant. I expect Nettles to be quite likable, unpretentious in real life. Well done John Nettles, I miss you.
I love him so damn much! I have been a fan of Midsomer Murder's for almoust 2 years, my farher for almost 20... Mr. Barnaby/Nettles is so sexy. And I love his voice!!
I am now a fan of Skavlan. How I wish we had a show like this in the UK. An actual proper interview where you learn a little about the real person and they are allowed to speak more than the interviewer. Awesome!
I agree!! He's definitely an excellent actor. VERY likable and warm in interviews being himself. Goodlooking too. Bravo! Surprised when he said while in Germany filming documentary, he could see his "grandchildren". I didn't care for his Insp replacement... didn't like him in MM at all. He just wasn't even close to holding my interest, didn't have appeal of Nettles in the role. I'm surprised series cont'd a couple of yrs since it was so flat w/o Nettles.
