I have the keys to a 2007 Chrysler Crossfire manual and the question I have is, why would they stop making these?!
I used to work for Chrysler selling these when they first came out and am now missing them when I see them and am wondering if you are too? But it would seem by the lack of fun little cars in the line up, that Chrysler says no to anyone missing them and won't be making a comeback.
I will take us down memory lane as we discuss what this beautiful little 2door RWD GT manual cruiser was all about and if they should bring it back out.
So let's go!

THANKS FOR WATCHING!!! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I remember when this thing first came out I thought it was great. I was always a fan of the SLK so when Chrysler took those bones and added a sleek coupe body to it and even offered the SLK's 6-speed (albeit, not on the SRT6), it seemed like a great GT value proposition. Great car, excellent review and thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience with it!
Agreed! This one was for me lol! I saw it and messaged the dealer immediately to ask if I could drive it and do a review:)
@@Neutralreviews that was a great catch and a great call to get this unique vehicle while you could! Sometimes you just have to do one for you. :)

I thank you I love mine
Most Loyal customers you will ever meet. I bought mine brand new in 2007, still have it having fun with it. I bought the convertable. just turned 119000 miles . Belong to the Chryslar clubs that will advise you on anything. Still sticked and running Great. Got one for my wife so we had twins.
Great story!! That is awesome to hear. Very happy for you both.
I have a 2005 SRT 6 with 55k miles and I looove these cars. It’s definitely a head turner too.
Absolutely!
I think these Chrysler Crossfires were so cool looking ! Thinking of buying one for a daily driver!
They really are! I kept seeing them around and said I have to review one.
Just got an 06 all white with chrome rims and this baby os awesome very fun to drive wonderful car
Congrats! Definitely a great car to drive.
I drive mine everyday, I love it, had it 6 years now, love it, people are always checking it out, not to mention they are fast, also less repairs than my 21 gt stang. Also great on gas
Awesome! Makes me smile every time I see one.
what a Mistake it was to discontinue ....
It was a special car!
I'm still driving my '06 convertible. 275K miles. Front end job the only issue
For seeing to back up or at slower drving speeds, That isnt an SRT and so the spoiler isnt up when you are backing up..and if it was its due to you putting it up, and you should put it back on automatic so you have better rear viewing..i noticed you didnt talk about the wheel and tire sizes, lack of spare, and the large rear storage hatchback
This car is fantastic
Agreed! I was pleasantly surprised at how well it's stood the test of time.
@@Neutralreviews i have the black cabrio. People is smiling when i arrive 😀
@@PeterPrism I bet lol! Especially yours! Very cool.
I still have the one I bought in 2004 new. Great cars and because of that moron Clarkson got a bad rap. These are gorgeous timeless cars.
😊
I’m considering picking up an 04 this week. Anything I should look out for? Also how is it in regards to reliability.

I'm having an SLK55 motor and transmission dropped into mine.

I'm thinking about buying a rag top crossfire, I love Mopar, I think the crossfire is outstanding with good looks.
I'm a coupe person but I'm guessing the convertible would be a great driving experience! And it is beautiful.
I’m looking at a few of these with low miles (60k) are you saying this would be a bad daily driver? Reliability wise? Not how practical it is as far as space just reliability?
Good question. Yes, I meant more that for a lot of people like myself it would not make a practical daily driver. At least with my BRZ or buddy's Mustang we can make work because of the folding backseats. Nothing conveniently goes in lol but I've had 3 uncomfortable adults and a kid in a child seat with a trunk full of groceries and tools, or another time 4 tires, tools and a second person. Whereas, with the Crossfire and ND2 Miata I daydream of lol, you just can't do any of that same daily stuff I can crease, crumple and cram into mine. I'm not sure how reliable they are or how easy/expensive to fix. I can say only say that I was blown away at how new it felt. As I was driving to the shoot location 30min away I kept thinking "oh right this thing is 17 years old and has 50,000km on it", because it felt as tight and maneuverable as any new car I get to test. I think I remember people saying that thus generation of SLK were pretty good but I'd definitely do your research (which I'm sure you are anyway).
i have an 05 roadster with 148k on the clock.besides routine maintenance the only things i've replaced are the battery, tires, and crank sensor.one of the most reliable vehicles i have owned.
@@donchez7512 great to know! Such a great car
@@Neutralreviews definitely my friend👍
Hi, I have one with 45k miles on it. The car never saw a winter. Interested?
Being a man that is 6'2" and 215 pounds...I absolutely do not fit in a Crossfire.
I wanted to buy one and tried to take one on a test drive...it was a hard top 6-speed.
I moved the seat in every possible position and no matter what I did my shin would rub the lower dashboard as I used the clutch and my head hit the roof.
I wanted one so much that I almost bought it with the thought that I could modify it and move the seat back about 3 inches and remove the interior piece behind the seats that prevent it from laying back any further.
If I were 5'8" I would have definitely bought one....they missed their mark by a mile. I've owned a mini Cooper S and had too much room in it...go figure.
I own a Mercedes... absolutely love them but they really screwed up with the Crossfire.
That sucks! Sorry. I guess I should quite complaining about being so short lol.
@@Neutralreviews I moved on and later bought a used Mercedes sl600...full Rentech upgrades too.
I would love to be short enough to own a 392 Hemi powered, 8 speed automatic crossfire...it would be very fun!
@@user-dx4br5gd1r Now you're talking lol.
3:18 What kind of technology do you have in mind? door handles chip away, the cup holder failing to latch on, ant yet no parking sensors...

Interesting video - a grownup car from the perspective of a child.

Not sure if that is a backhanded compliment lol, but I was I child when I sold them new for Chrysler in the early 2000's. I'm in my 40's. Happy to be considered young than old lol.
@@Neutralreviews Well when you describe a perfectly good steering wheel as ugly because it isn't covered with buttons like a PlayStation controller it does make me wonder what is wrong with you.
Just think how many cars with beautiful steering wheels that you would consider ugly because it doesn't have a bunch of lame ass buttons all over it.
@@artszabo1015 I hate buttons too, it's just an ugly steering wheel lol. We all have opinions and don't have to agree. I prefer not to make rude comments to strangers. Helps make the world better. Thanks for sharing. It is an amazing vehicle and why I spend the time and money reviewing.
@@Neutralreviews I'm sorry, did I make a rude comment to you?
There isn't a cell in my body that wants to deprive you of voicing your opinion. Nor do I have any desire to change your opinion.
You are the one that said the steering wheel was ugly because it lacked buttons. I didn't say that - you did. But now you say you hate buttons too.
I think you are hearing me in your feelings and not your intellect
@@artszabo1015 I said the steering wheel was "weird and ugly". It is weird because we have been driving with buttons for years now whether you like them or not - hence the definition of weird or strange. It's ugly, because that is my opinion and it has nothing to with buttons. I hate them because I didn't grow up with them, am quite capable of reaching twelve inches to touch it on the dash and prefer a simple design. That said, on a sporty car I prefer a three spoke design and not what they chose. This is the second time you have now said something to provoke a stranger. Why not say "Interesting video - I actually like buttonless steering wheels and why, what do you think?" Maybe you should work on emotional intelligence. In all seriousness for anyone reading this Twitter like thread lol, I in part named the show "Neutral" because the world is increasingly divided and if car people can't get along and treat each other well we are all in real trouble. Please treat people online like you would in person and that is a start. Thanks for watching.
