the part where she sings "Réfugie" sounds really beautiful, and the scream accompanies the peak of the music well
OMG YOU ARE AMAZAING THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV SONGS OF ALL TIME AND NOBODY HAS REACTED TO IT U ARE A LEGEND WELL THANKS STEWART!!!
What a flashback, have almost forgotten that band existet. Grabbed album and mini from a long time not visited part of my CD rack today.
I’m really glad you enjoyed this, and I think your analysis is spot on. That scream is, in my opinion, the best ever recorded: Nothing forced or performative, just sheer, raw emotion. Goosebumps every time.
Amesoeurs is awesome, I definetly recommend to check out the full album! Very unique atmosphere.
The entire ep is just brilliantly composed; I especially recommend 'Bonheur Ampute' next. Then check when you can their only self-titled album which is an absolute masterpiece with songs like 'Recueillement' and 'Reine Trayeuse' and of course my favourite 'Au Crepuscule de nos Rêves'
I liked this song on first listen. In addition to some of the genres you heard in it, I hear a typical post-punk guitar melody at around 2:50.
Remember when I first head this back in 2007, was blown away by the whole EP, it's really a gem. That's what eventually got me into Post-rock and more experimental black metal projects.
Only band that has a somewhat similar "tone" to it is Lifelover, it's name aside, a very depressing band :)
Yep, absolutely. Great band.
About the lyrics : the translation on lyrics translate is "I am disgusted". However the singer sings "Je m'écœure" which translate to "I'm disgusted by myself", adding another layer of self loathing towards oneself. That's a little nuance that adds a lot. Also In the end when she screams, that's this lyrics that comes, accentuating even more that idea of repulsion to their own desires and going very well with your interpretation.
Ever done a reaction to the finnish psychedelic rock band Kairon Irse? Their attached to Svart Records, the same label as Oranssi Pazuzu. I tried seeing if anyone had done a reaction to any of their songs, but i found none. If you looking for psych rock a bit out of the ordinary, you should check em out. Their last album, Polysomn was released in 2020. Probably my fav psych band alongside Slift ;)
This is definitely one of their more shoegaze songs, others are more postBM
I havent listened to this band in years, I really appreciate you checking them out, I will have to listen to them again
9:50 yeah you have reacted to the song fro mthe same ep bonhuer ampute before but not the title-track ruines humaines, they are a bit different vibe than faiblesse des sens, if you want more faiblesse des sense stuff you need to check their "amesoeurs" album, most tracks are liek this and they are al lso beautiful you wil lreally enjy i think, PLEASE IF U REACT TO THE ALBUM POST YOUR REACTION I WOULD LOVE TO SEE
Interesting...and funnily it is not only related to Black Metal & Folk Metal, but for me it is a lot of of what early 1980s Cold Wave/New Wave/Gothic rock was, with a "contemporary take" if I may say (though, as you pointed it rightfully so, it is also rooted in typical 1990s Shoegaze & Noisy Pop (fuzzy, tremolo guitars, bass clearly heard doing the melody, not a lot on effects on vocals, minimalism & melancholy, etc...). If you liked this, check out maybe also bands like TEARWAVE (songs like "Lotus Flower", "Shattered Fairytale", or "Lady Aurora" (but it s not rooted in Black Metal at all) or of course masters of shoegaze SLOWDIVE, and others I can't recall now...but sure ALCEST & AGALLOCH are huge influences on this too...
I’d not heard of Tearwave before, and having now just checked them out that’s a great recommendation. Cheers!
... Hello !
As a french, it's sounding more like a Depressive BlackGaze song (not Suicidal ^^), the voice, the scream, and I love really that song ...
And "Post some thing", what's "Post", everything and nothing ...
