@@eusebiuselbert1679 Eli has a beautiful voice. But I think he is a lower tenor (2nd tenor I think it's called). Earl is a 1st tenor / has a higher vocal range so that his highest - and lowest - notes are higher than a 2nd tenor. Or that's how I understood it.
Nope, still not able to make it through this song without tearing up, even 2 years later. I've gotten over the sadness of Earl leaving, it's the sadness in Eli's and Geoff's eyes and voices that break my heart every time. Just want to give them a hug ❤❤
I was sure this was Geoff's arrangement before I even read the description to confirm. The focus on gentle, slow harmonies is a clear trademark, while Layne is more theatrical. (both brilliant). This is so beautiful. I love that Layne's voice is so clear in it, and the emotion is very well communicated. Great song choice, too. Just sweet and perfect.

Voiceplay has had drastic changes, from '97 until now the band became deformed and progressively became a different band ... but they never lost the harmonic magic, the musical and personal beauty and the individual and group talent that characterizes them. I'm pretty sure that while Earl's departure is very painful, in the long run both (Earl and current and / or future members of Voiceplay) are going to be happy. All changes hurt ... but when one door closes another opens: this is life. Thanks for everything Earl ... and long live Voiceplay !!

Earl quit, then J left for the Navy (hopefully will be back) and in return we got sassy Cesar, as well as introduced to amazing featured guests like Deejay Young, EJ and Omar Cardona, Ashley Diane, and Anthony Gargiula. Eli grew a beard and suddenly Rock-God Eli burst forth with a gritty wail. Layne discovered new portals into Hades from whence he conjures unearthly vocal sounds. Geoff hit a B0 and started a solo channel to bless us with double the musical goodness. Yes, change hurts... but look how far they have come!

OH MY GOSH🥴!!! When I didn’t see him and started to soak into the lyrics of the song, I thought he died😰😭! I’m very much relieved to know that he’s just gone from the group and not from life. Why have I never heard of this piece before? You can hear the haunting melancholy in the notes. I lean my head against my wall and let it wash over me as I close my eyes and cry. Voiceplay’s cover’s is like a friend who taps you on the shoulder when they notice your turmoil and with open arms envelops you in the biggest hug ever so that you can lean in and just cry…..sob your heart out. You can feel the love exuding from the music.
Seeing as this came out a while ago you may or may not see this, but I’m grateful you guys covered this because it gives me comfort especially with all the pain and anguish I’ve had to deal with the last seven years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me hope again.
This song seems to have touched so many hearts and helped people heal. I revisit it every so often when I have trouble or sorrow, and listening to it helps, but comments like yours also help. We are all human beings together in this life, each with our times of sadness and our times of helping others with their sadness. I hope yours has gotten lighter, with help from loving friends as well as lovely music like this.

Harder in some ways because grief is my constant companion, but I’ve been able to redefine what that grief means to me. Voiceplay’s music has helped me focus on my business I’m creating. I’m trying to use my art in a way to release that heartache, but also be relatable to other people who might be going through hard things.

It's difficult to hold back the tears, keep a straight face, and record a song at the same time. Earl's friendship with Geoff and Layne went way, way back when they were still very young, and then with Tony, Eli and J years after so it's understandable. God, I wish there is a chance for them to reunite, even just for one song. They have a marvelous harmony, a great relationship together.

I can't blame him. This song makes me cry. The only song that makes me cry worse is "Where've You Been" by Kathy Mattea. (and in an interview she said it took her multiple takes to record without crying herself.)
My dog passed away on April 24, 2020, and spending my birthday later without my dog was very sad, but this song made me remember that he will always be with me. Thank you very much voiceplay for the songs that you make, and that help you to pass the time.I love you very much and I hope you do well with Earl. We miss Earl! I suffer from anxiety and bi polar depression. I found Voiceplay and it helped calm me down. I'm happy for Earl but I feel like I lost a part of my family. Good luck Earl.
Some song they did are fast pace with energetic tone or they did slow song with less energetic tone. I felt your pain.

Earl-though he's not is this video, his high notes are angelic and powerful, his "laser beam like" tone is so amazing. Thanks for singing in Voiceplay for all these years that we get to hear your precious voice.
Eli-perfect riffs and runs. I personally love his masked head voice and belting a lot. I don't think I have to mention how beautiful Eli's voice is as every Voiceplay fan knows it.
J-super smooth and solid voice. I'm sorry I don't have any more words to describe his voice(bad English haha. It's super good anyways). (and of coz J is soo cute)

There is hardly anything I can say about this video. The emotion all you all put into it, understandable, just lifts this to another level. Earl will, of course, be missed, and I can't imagine how hard it was to do this video but thank you for doing it. It absolutely is, but it can also be difficult to watch. This isn't VoicePlay being the 'theatre kids' of a capella and hamming it up for the camera like we're used to. It's VoicePlay grieving, and extending us the singular honor of permitting us to see it.

Its very sad to see Earl go. I honestly never thought i'd see the day he wouldn't be in this group. I found the band back in January after seeing Home Free for the first time. But i think that if you wanted a good placement for the time being or maybe permanently, i think that y'all should give John Pinto a call. He did a great job in "It aint me" and his voice also sits just above everybody else's. Something to consider. Best of luck in the future guys.

This really hit me today, as one of my pets isn’t going to make it through the day, and no vets nearby have openings. So I’ve been crying all morning, I’ve had him 18 years. But this song reminds me to remember the love, and the good moments with him, and to just appreciate the years I’ve been blessed to have him. I know my sweet buddy knows I love him, and I feel his love, we’re surrounded by each other’s. So thank you. This brings me a little peace. And it’s just gorgeous.

Revisiting this today in the middle of some family hardships. I heard this song on my playlist earlier today, before it happened, and... I just had to watch it over again now.
Things are really uncertain right now, and we're afraid of a potential loss. But... well, one thing that has been a comfort to me is the simple thought: nothing is lost. Not really. Not forever. That has come back to me a lot. And I don't know if this will find someone else in worry or grief, but if it does, I hope it helps you. Nothing is lost.

Thanks for everyone who's prayed for us! I should have commented a long time ago, but things have gotten a lot better. The loss we feared didn't happen, and although things aren't quite the same, we have a normal now, and it's close enough to what we had before. So once again, thank you for the prayers and thoughts and wishes for our help and comfort! It's amazing to think that we can find total strangers praying for us in the midst of our troubles. Just discovered this acapella group last night. Now it became one of my favorites. Ugh, I hate this kind of pain, members leaving the group, but it's all part of the journey. Although it's sad, we have to accept it and continue to grow and keep doing what we do. This kind of pain really brokes my heart, just like what Avi did from Pentatonix. As always a very good song or cover, Geoff's beautiful voice gives it more soul, J Nones upfront and charming voice, Eli's strong and smooth voice that I can listen to, and Layne's voice be very soft, smooth, stable, and good for their harmonies, wanna get more of that even if in the future your gonna have to layer his beats as well I'll be fine with it, it's just that good.
