Geoff Castellucci from VoicePlay drops some nuggets on his socials from time to time, and since I know there are a good bit of people who don't like tiktok or instagram, I figured I'd share some of them here.

What I like about Geoff, he is brave enough to sing without studio tricks. We all know his final note on "Far Over the Misty Mountains Cold" was enhanced in the studio and he's not going to be singing it over a choir. Yet, he still sings it into a phone mic, knowing it will be weak. He doesn't ever represent something he is not.

Its a total inspiration knowing that these singers aren't total superhuman, hell it doesn't even sound too far off from some of my bass singing up on my phone, of course he's a lower bass and a better singer, but it's nice to know that with any great singer, studio magic is always needed to sound the way they do in the albums. Especially with metal purists and stuff people seem to have negative thoughts on good production and pitch correction, but it is at least 50% of any good track. Of course the true test in singing is if singers can't do it live, and Geoff definitely can.
He doesnt need mecanical enhancing he uses machines to help combine all the voice on the tracks he has an amazing voice and its not just ordinary singing he has a stunning range to his voice
@@margaretmclennan5169, he does use tricks in the studio and never denies it. But, to sound that good even with studio tricks, you have to sound good without them. I have heard him sing live and he does avoid going much out of his chest range, which is fair, since subharmonics on the low end and falsetto on the high end are never a guarantee. But since I seen them live (pre-pandemic), he has upped his game and vocal control even more than it was.
Hes voice is brilliant and listen to these clips where he is live singing in the studio and his rang is brilliant and low very low and there is no tricks on here and when i sang years ago i went from top c to the top male bass level and even now i can go nearly as low as him but he is way lower than me i sang in 3 choirs with a choir master and coverd lots of ranges in music andvto get his ranges he needs to have the voice in the first place and he def has without studio tricks and by tri ks i mean multiplying his voice and increasing his volume fir stage but the base is in him and his voice
I love this one! I saw in the comments of one of his tik toks someone asking why he had that blue eye filter on, and he actually responded saying, "I don't know what I'm doing!". Oh my, if only he had his social media guru for older gentlemen, Cesar, available. 🤣

Thank you for these. I don’t use a lot of different socials, so quite a few that I had not seen before. If I had to pick a favorit clip of them it would be the one where he has something stuck in the teeth, it is both so funny and just absolutely adorable ❤️

Thanks for this! Some I'd never seen before, like asking Kathy to get something that's stuck in his teeth. LOL! I'd seen the clip of him dancing backstage but didn't know it was to Street Corner Symphony. Adam Chance sang bass when they competed on The Sing-Off, which (I think) is how he became friends with the guys in Home Free and stepped in as their baritone when Chris Rupp left to go solo. There's a funny pic that often pops up of Geoff and Chance sitting on a couch in a dressing room, close together because the third spot is occupied by another guy's discarded jeans, complete with belt. Geoff is wearing the same outfit as in the clip at 5:27. It's always fun to see him dance. (Ooh, there's an idea for another video... 😃)

not sure actually. the facemask suggests covid times, the back drop suggests FoToS, but Eli's facial hair is not at FoToS level, so might be Superstition or Carry On Wayward Son

@@huldradraco And it carries. There's a vlogger who documented seeing them in concert, and in the crowded area where the guys were signing autographs. Long before it was her turn to get stuff signed, amidst hundreds of people talking, you can still hear Geoff's normal conversational tone as he chatted with fans.
