I mean you can see it from my first time reaction to this Voice Play masterpiece.
@Thevoiceplay really messed with me here as they took on one of the all time classics 'Nothing Else Matters' by Metallica and turned it into a stunning acappela version.
And the solo... I really didn't expect this at all!
I hope @metallica saw this because this is just soooo good!

Ah, the face of yet another person broken by VoicePlay. Join the family; you're in good company! 🤣 Seriously though, Geoff really outdid himself with this arrangement; you are certainly not alone in being a bit overwhelmed by how much was going on throughout that song- and that's not to mention any emotional impacts it has.

@@FaanaMusicNever take your eyes off of them. The interaction they have with one another is awesome. The expressions & body language Cesar ( the guy with the big hair ) has is amazing to watch. He has the most expressions of them all & a voice that will bring tears to your eyes as in their cover of Creep. Always watch the video till the end of the credits because sometimes they pause or blackout before something special. The same goes with Geoff Castallucci's solo covers.
There are a few things that you can expect in every Voiceplay song: 1) Everybody gets a solo-and you’re going to love each one. 2) Geoff is going to hit a note in the first octave or lower. 3) Layne is going to crush the beatboxing and nearly always leave you wondering how he made some kind of sound. 4) The arrangement will be terrific (credit to either Layne or Geoff, sometimes Eli). And 5) They will always surprise you-here it’s the violin (VioLayne has made an appearance in three Voiceplay songs so far), and also the fact that they acapellaed the heck out of a song most people don’t think is going to work with just vocals. (Sometimes there’s a 6-when it works in the song they will make you laugh.)
There are a lot of songs on Voiceplay’s channel-you won’t go wrong with any of them. Just pick the next one that looks interesting. Great reaction!!

Isn't this just brilliant? I know you have listened to a couple of their songs now, but don't seem too familiar with who the guys all are yet, so please allow me to introduce you properly to our favorite Acapella guys! Left to right: Geoff Castellucci...human subwoofer with a 5 octave range and perfect hair. LOL. Does about half the arranging for the group and also has his own solo channel. J.None... smooth baritone/tenor with the amazing R&B voice, former full member of Voiceplay but currently singing in the Navy choir and features with them whenever he can. Eli Jacobson...(pronounced "Elly" like jelly) little bald rockstar tenor with all the grit and amazingness. He also does most of the lighting and effects in their videos, an occasional arrangement, plus he does some voice acting as well, or so I understand. Cesar De La Rosa, the baby of the group. Newest member...that sweet, silky, emotional voice that ranges from baritone to quite high tenor...he will go from sassy to breaking your heart in 3.5 seconds. And finally Layne Stein (aka VioLayne) vocal percussion voodoo master..nobody can beatbox like Layne! Plus he does about half the arranging. And of course, he plays violin. Also known to be a bit obsessive about carrots...but you'll figure that out if you continue down this wonderful rabbit--hole! Enjoy!
And….now you understand why their fans are so intense in our affection for them.

Voiceplay are the Reactor Busters, especially voice coaches and musicians 😂 No matter what sing they cover, it's always a great surprise. Great reaction ❤
Voiceplay always pays homage to the original but will never do a copy cat version. Geoff has said, Why do something that someone else has already done?
Layne was going to sing the solo, but Geoff (his arrangement) asked if he could do it on violin. Layne has began playing violin when he was four and has played with orchestras. Eli, the bald tenor, has done a few of their arrrangements or co-arranged. He will be doing more in the future. His most notable are Eleanor Rigby and Creep. You will hear Cesar take a major role in Creep.
And then do their version of In The Air Tonight. Or if you want to see really, really playful, The Lion Sleeps Tonight.
Yes! That's the way it is... Great reaction. Next one could be "In the hall of the mountain king". Go, listen to a concert version of a full orchestra first... any philharmonic version will do. THEN switch over to the VP version... and try not to die in awe and laughter! 🎉😂❤

VoicePlay always respect the original whilst making it their own. The singing is brilliant, it goes without saying, and Geoff's running bass is just amazing, but their arrangements are just so original and perfect. There have been a couple I was not totally fond of, a matter of taste, but even with those I have to admire their skill and talent anyway. Lovely reaction! Something you might notice is that they always dress appropriately, whether or not they're being theatrical. In this one they were all in black as the song was from Metallica's Black album.
You can't go wrong with VoicePlay. They are phenomenal!! I highly recommend 'Oogie Boogie' from Nightmare Before Christmas, ,'Hoist the Colors' from Pirates of the Caribbean, 'Valleha Calling', 'Queen in 5 minutes', 'Dream On', and Geoff's cover of 'Jack's Lament' also from Nightmare Before Christmas.

@@FaanaMusic thank you for another priceless reaction to Voice Play. When someone says it can't be done, Voice Play will prove them wrong. They always stay true to the original yet make it their own at the same time. I recommend Voice Plays cover of Dream On originally by Aerosmith.. Voice Plays cover of Carry On Wayward Son originally by Kansas & Voice Plays cover of a medley of Queen songs titled. Queen In 5 Minutes. This one will blow you away. It is on the theatrical side ( after all they are known as The Theater Kids of Acapella ). Voice Play knocks them out of the ball park.

Fantastic reaction! Thank you very much! This one is my favorite VP work, too. I think, the arrangement Geoff did here, really is 'perfect'. It's mind-blowing alone imagining "Metallica - Acapella?", but what they do concerning the arrangement of voices/layers is sensational. It hit me the first time I listened to it and still does now. The way of playing with expectations and surprising the viewer/listener is unbelievably good in this one. 🥰
Voiceplay=Mind blown! This one blew a lot of reactors away. It's exceptional. It's like a warm jacuzzi for the brain. Great job reacting! Yesterday VP released a wonderful short, of "Pure Imagination," and I like it even better than Josh Groban's version, and that's no mean feat, since I'm a longtime Grobanite. If you don't mind my suggestion, the next time you do a Voiceplay song, add the short in too, as sort of a bonus. You'll love it, I have no doubt.
And just a reminder on the names, facing the screen you have Geoff on the far left, Bass Extraordinaire. Than J. None, the soulful Baritone. Then Eli, the "Rock God." Then Cesar, who can really get you in the "feels," in the best way possible. Lastly, we have Layne, and now you know why he's also referred to as "VioLayne."

@@FaanaMusic please do a reaction video to Geoff Castallucci cover of Folsom Prison Blues originally by Johnny Cash. Geoff is the low bass singer in Voice Play. He rented out an entire decommissioned prison for this one. His wife Kathy was his only crew. Geoff loves to clone himself 3 or 4 times to harmonize with himself. As with all his solo covers weather you see his clones or not rest assured they are there to back him up. Listen to the end of the credits to hear what he has to say.

Don't worry Voiceplay is well known for breaking reactors. And the fans love watching it because they've broken us too. If it becomes to much you are allowed to end the song (after you finished watching to the end) to just take your headphones off and walk away. We'll understand 😊😅😂

My absolute favourite - mind blowing a capella version. Their other rock and gaming covers are also beyond amazing - you have a deep rabbit hole to go down! 🌹🕊
And for a completely different emotion from them, I'll suggest either "Creep" or "I Can't Make You Love Me". Both show off their emotional range really well. Might want to keep the tissues handy. Cesar can break your heart.
But after that, do something 'fun' like "We Don't Talk About Bruno" or "Drunken Sailor" to cheer yourself back up.

@@FaanaMusic It is so worth it, I promise! I comment on every reactor who does VP to give their Queen one a listen, it is my absolute favorite of their medleys. One hint for the video though that confuses some reactors, since its a very theatrical production that tells a story, it helps to read the text that pops up on the screen in the beginning, you'll see what I mean lol
Also, the ACA Top Tens get skipped by a lot of reactors, but they're some of the best in my opinion because most of them are just done on mics in front of a camera with no studio touch-ups or anything, pure vocals only, and you can really see their natural talent. Next best thing to a live performance! The only exceptions I think are the Video Game themes one and Movie themes, but the Movie themes has the added benefit of featuring Rob from Home Free! Can't wait to see more VP from you!

Your mind blown yet? VoicePlay did this over a year ago in January. They also dropped this that day and while they don't realize it, it was my birthday present from them. So drop-dead gorgeous and I never get tired of hearing it. Then they did Valhalla Calling (Miracle of Sound) and In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins) both different but incredible. An older one is Can't Help Falling in Love (Elvis and great chords in this.). When Eli took on the Creep (RadioHead) project, it is another that just fits like a glove. Not much percussion in this one but I Can't Make You Love Me (requested by Cesar). If you need a lift, had a bum day, whatever, try either of these - In the Hall of the Mountain King (Edvard Grieg 1875) and my favorite when I was playing it on my contrabass clarinet for the low notes, and then there is Drunken Sailor which is riotously glorious. When you are doing VoicePlay or Geoff's solos, always let it play out or at least look at the amount of time left on the video, you can often learn a lot or get little nuggets of pure gold. They actually did The Lion Sleeps Tonight originally intended as a mini less that 2 min...but VioLayne was having so much fun it morphed into a full-length video. It is still in the mini format. Also located just outside the doors of Pattycake Productions studio in the middle of the mall. Did the Time Warp there, moved over to just outside GameStop and did Peaches from Super Mario Brothers. These guys are incredible, they do everything themselves, no contracts, the creativity is just in their hands only. We're Good (Dua Lipa) was Cesar's ticket to membership in VoicePlay.

If you enjoy this then you must listen to their cover of ‘Creep’ and ‘Hoist the colours’. My two personal favourites however are their covers of ‘Tennessee Whiskey’ and ‘Can’t Help Falling’ the harmonies give me chills every single time, they are older songs though but 100% worth listening to 😊

One difference with this one as compared to the other two you listened to is the arranger; Layne arranged Hellfire and Superstition while Geoff arranged this one. They are both brilliant arrangers, but their styles and approaches are just different enough that I can tell the difference between the two, but I cannot tell you what exactly it is that is different.

Th first time I saw this I screamed so loud when VioLayne started my roommates came running in cause they thought I'd hurt myself!
Try "Just Sing" (with the captions ON for intros and snark) to get an idea of all the great artists they have collaborated with. They did it during lockdown as a benefit for other artists.

If you want some sort of surprise by Voiceplay, I recommend "Eleanor Rigby" - I can say for sure that it managed to surprise me. It might not have the epiphany quality of Nothing else matters, but it was fun.
