    When choosing a new place to live, make sure to factor in all expenses as well as what your income will be in your new area.

    If I came across a house that was only $323,000 I would wonder what was wrong with it since it's so cheap (average price here is >$1,000,000 USD). Here in Vancouver, B.C. in Jan. 2021 our gas was $5.02 USD per US gallon for Regular. Our sales tax here varies between 5% and 12%. Our median income in 2021 was $32,000 USD. No one in the U.S. has any idea what the word "expensive" really means.

      I’m sure it’s different all over the world. Plenty of people live in CT and are able to make a decent living but when coming from other less expensive parts of the country it can be a bit overwhelming. Thank you for watching.

    My biggest question is: Do you get paid to fulfill that living cost?

    • @livinginsouthingtonctbybar961
      @livinginsouthingtonctbybar961  Před 2 lety

      That’s a great question. According to Niche.com the Median Household Income In Southington is $94,463 (the National average is $62,843. Currently in CT our minimum wage is $13/hour, with many employers paying a starting salary of at least $15/hour. Of course depending on the line of work and experience, employers here can pay much more that minimum wage. Our state minimum wage here is definitely higher than most in the nation to help balance out our higher cost of living. In my opinion I have found Southington to be affordable.

      It can be difficult to purchase a home in a new state without a job lined up. You may be better off renting for a while, this way you can get to know the state/towns before deciding on where to buy. Whether buying or renting in a new state you will need money up front, (down payment/closing costs if you buy or 1st months rent and security deposit if you rent) I would suggest you save up what you can prior to moving out of state abs start applying for potential jobs in your new state. Check out Indeed for job opportunities, there are a bunch in the medical field here in CT.
