Good tutorial on how to Crack a slab, one flaw is you shouldn't cover it with a towel not able to see whats going on. Sometimes line crack goes all the way to the card that could possibly scratch it with those miniature pieces.

SGC you only need a butter knife and work it around the edges. Probably the easiest to crack. The others you do need to use pliers or another tool to take out the corners.

PSA Slabs are also pretty easy to crack open since they are fairly thin and the plastic material is weak
Hoping to resubmit them to possibly CGC in hopes of getting some 9s and 9.5's. I kind of just want them in the thicker, clearer slabs from CGC since they display better.

Didn’t see cracking a psa slab but I use pliers and a long flathead I just feel that it has better control and you have more room to prevent damaging the card once I crack the slab I place a thin napkin over the card as I take off the rest of the slab surrounding the card to prevent plastic pieces landing on the the edge/corner of the card . Did it with my Mike trout Rc Psa9 came back a 10
Interesting idea to try but from your sgc results I think I'd run in the other direction on them for sure. What was it HSA? That impressed me especially as they are a smaller little known company that I would guess you would recieve out of boxes that have a graded card?

I just used a box cutter it takes a little longer but still affective
SGC is notorious for grading tougher than PSA. And I can tell you from my experience, PSA is far more lenient than SGC. A lot of SGC 9.5s will get PSA 9s due to the fact that PSA doesn’t have a 9.5 grade. Likewise, a lot of SGC 9.5s will get PSA 10s, this was just a very small sample size and I can tell from your commentary you don’t have a lot of experience with SGC. I recommend do a couple subs with SGC and you’ll find they are undoubtedly the best when it comes to consistency in grading, accuracy, and turnaround times.
You are correct, yes, very small sample size and I do not have a lot of experience grading with SGC. Thank you for for the advice! Just based on price, turn around time and resale value SGC is a great option so I definitely will sub with them soon!

Good video, been collecting since 85 and PSA has terrible slabs. Grading is not bad but there wait time is a sh!t show. SGC has always been no good and HGA has the best slabs period and then CGC. HGA should have more value love honestly and hopefully one day they will get it. I crack PSA slabs and resub to HGA cause I hate PSA so much n there punny slabs that barley keep dust off the card inside lol. Again excellent videos ya do.

That Trask looks way OC left-->right. No way that's 60/40 but still obviously a huge upgrade having it in a PSA holder.
Can you send the card to PSA still in the SGC case and ask to be cracked and crossed over ONLY if the grade is the same or higher?
Use a exacto knife on the bgs sleeve....easier than scissors

Does that work with HGA? They gave me 8.5's on my 5 cards when at least 9's. My 92 Elite McGriff is totally a 10.
Can I resubmit serial #’d cards back to psa? I have a auto /25, and it’s a PSA 9, but I want to crack and submit back to psa becuase in my opinion it’s worth the 10 gamble. Does psa have databases on serial #’d and won’t grade my card any differently? Or do they not track serial #’s with graded cards?

Great video, subbed! I agree with you. IME, SGC is a soft grader despite the general consensus that they grade tough. My personal theory is that they grade soft so that more folks will buy their higher grades which helps them gain market share.
PSA knows about trimming.
New to hobby. Why choose PSA over hga and the others? I think there are a good amount of videos out there that people prefer hga over PSA. Thanks!
Because the community likes easy 10s and due to this most of the community is heavily invested in PSA resulting in higher value in the secondary market. PSA is trash at grading but since it’s easy mode people that can’t grade love them.

Saying you haven't seen suspect grading from PSA is laughable. Any noob can show you PSA is inconsistent with the grading with some 9s looking better than 10s.

PSA and all grading companies are all subjective and can be very inconsistent. I’ve resubmitted some cards myself to PSA and gotten a different grade. So I agree with you there.

I’m not a PSA fan. I’ve seen too many 10’s that were Clearly not gem
2/3s of the collectible card community videos are people complaining about PSA grading and the other 1/3 is people in the community cracking out cards from other grading companies to submit and get higher grades from the aforementioned PSA. When will this community ever accept that PSA is trash and will not get any better? I have never seen Stockholm syndrome this bad for a company.

PSA is very inconsistent nowadays , overrated and way overpriced period.
PSA doesn't grade .5 grades so the SGC 9.5s have been graded 9s by PSA. I like SGC better.
So basically any HGA 9.5 will probably get a PSA10.....
