- Do you want a great tool to help your fingers move more easily and quickly on the clarinet? Michelle Anderson, founder of Clarinet Mentors (www.learnclarinetnow.com), presents a review of a tool called Classical Fingers (www.classicalfingers.com) which can help clarinetists to move their fingers much more easily on the clarinet. This tool works well for beginners as well as experienced clarinetists, and is a very handy tool for clarinet teachers to use with their students. Here, Michelle opens up and demonstrates a copy of the Classical Fingers which was given to her by the designer, Phil Lambert.

I went on Amazon and found this for $100 so I would think about it first
Dear Michelle, thanks for all the great videos. After watching this video I spontaneously ordered one of these devices. Problem is: they don't work on clarinets that use the German system. Phil was kind enough to point that out before mailing the product from Oz to Germany.
Hence your comment that it works fine on any clarinet doesn't apply to non-Boehm clarinet players. You might want to point that out to your viewers in some way...
Best from Germany
DAVID MELLA are there? Do you have a link?
You are a great mentor, thanks
This is the coolest gadget. Thank you for sharing! 😁

Thanks for the kind words. My students have really enjoyed using this device.
I like when you use a note sheet during these explanation like you did for the 4 different articulation on accents
I like the explanation on accents with the note sheet. I wish you can use the sheet more often
I looked this up and saw it was Australian made! Yay!
I just ordered mine! It sounds fantastic. And it was made here in Australia. :D
I hope you like it. It is a great way to improve finger technic.

What is the brand? I like this and need this? Please help me to find this. Thank you
Can this device work on the flute? OR is there a similar device for the flute? Thank you!!
apparently its good to keep the fingers on the pads on the sax, so I udnerstand its similar concept
yay
It is kinda unfortunate that it costs $50! Im sure this can be made way cheaper because $50 is (in my opinion) way too greedy. Mrs. Anderson, I need help on how to tongue faster. I have seen your video on stop tonguing both at backun's channel and here and I think it is very helpful. Whenever I tongue quickly, I find that my sound comes out of sync. I dont know if it is my fingers or my tongue and it is the reason why I am confused. I know you've said to move your fingers to the next note between the breaks between each note but I am not sure if my fingers are the problem. How could I tell? Also, i feel as if I tongue a lot faster when I play quieter as compared to when I play louder. Is there any way to resolve this or is it just through practice? I love your videos and I am trying to improve a lot during my freshman year in highschool.
P.s: I commented on another video asking about private lessons (I dont know if you saw it or not). I just wanted to quickly ask the benefits of having a private teacher. I feel as though lot of the things you teach are what any private teacher would teach (probably to a lesser extent even). Would you recommend me to get a private teacher to improve?
If your tongue and fingers are out of sync, you can usually fix it by trying that trick of playing super slowly and moving the fingers ahead of the tongue. Often the reason our tonguing seems to slow down when we play louder is that we inadvertently hit the reed much harder. If you can keep your tongue really light, even when your air is really strong, you should be able to tongue as fast as you do playing softly. - A private teacher can be helpful to notice any bad habits that you may have without realizing it. It might be worth scheduling one lesson with someone to find out if you like that particular teacher. There are many different teaching styles, and it can be a good idea to try someone out to find out if you feel compatible with them.
