Your a legend... A few years ago I flipped a toyota on Hell's Revenge in Moab with a couple friends and we thought we were absolutely screwed. After somehow getting a hold of you I'll always remember this rig pulling up and saving the day. Winched it back over on the side of a cliff, got it started and we drove right out of there. Thanks again.
It’s not just that you’re filming and driving. It’s the fact that you have have the skill and knowledge to pull a trailer, operate a manual transmission, shift the transfer case, use the brakes, and talk about what you’re doing. That is MAXIMUM skill level. Tail Mater is set up so perfect, but I’ll bet you are always finding ways to improve him. I’ve been around Moab a lot, but your skill and knowledge of the terrain and Mater are on a whole other level. Love the videos.
Rory , after watching Matts off road recovery. Utube recommended I watch your channel, trail mater is an awesome rig !! Built for purpose, what a machine 💪 👏 And your skills , to drive with all the controls... 👍👍
You are hard core! Watch Matt but he has a lot of rope recoveries and lots of help...you on the other hand..small crew or no crew and tremendous driving skills. Praises from northern Canada!
Best comment on here. Its like the dude who has all the bells an whistles, looks good. Vs, maiter. The guy who uses what he has and has his stuff dialed in. Pure driving.
I love it when you discuss ideas presented by others. Your explanation of how you use your equipment vs their recommendations helps us make sense of how you work. Thanks
I love the wrench shift levers, so darn cool. Started following your channel after seeing ya wheeling with Matt's off road, and BSF. Love your tow rig.
Your cavalier candor is a sheer sign of confidence. What is everyday norm to those of us who are extremely good at our jobs is awe inspiring to many. This is just on another level. Fun stuff brother.
Love the truck. Love the channel. As a complete novice I really appreciate the “front dig” explanation. I’ve seen you do that move before and usually attributed the angles to the short wheel base.
So only recently found this channel, subbed straight away cos I'm so impressed by you, Rory and by trail mater. That rig has everything yiu need and nothing you don't. Function over form, but it still looks awesome! On these trails where some people struggle, there goes Rory (with a trailer on the back!!) driving one handed while filming with the other. Truly a man in his element who loves what he does. Awesome 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
BFG should mail you a check every month, ive never witnessed a better advertisement for tire durability. Thanks for the vids, you and your truck are beasts..
This is the coolest vehicle I have ever seen! And Trail Mater is the genius that makes it all work. He can shift in and out of which axel is needed. drive,. change gears, operate the gas, steer the wheel, operate the brake and clutch, AND FILM ALL AT THE SAME TIME! Love it!
This video was very educational when you explained about your driving technique and why you use the trailer set up that you do. It is smart to take care of welding issues on the spot because you are busy with recoveries and you need to know that your equipment is ready to go. Your bare bones style channel I definitely like it is something different from other channels
You are just amazing. There is no other like you. I would do the same thing, weld it right then. I like that you can do anything. You remind me of my sons. Lol. That’s a compliment. Your videos are always entertaining. God bless you
You must know most of the trails around Moab really good. You take some fairly technical obsticals without a spotter. And you just climb up and over them like it is nothing. I know part of it is having an extremely capable truck, but most of it comes from you skill and knowledge of the trail. And you do them one handed while filming and commenting on how your truck works. Keep up the great job.
So, I'm telling my girlfriend how difficult the trail is, how important it is to choose the right line, concentrating on getting it right and here comes this guy in a tow truck, pulling a trailer, driving with one hand filming with the other.... All joking aside, that's amazing! Ignore the haters, If someone's actually counting the umms, they need to go out and visit your office.
Thanks so much for the run down on how your Wrecker works from the driver’s seat, it really helped my understanding of how much is going on just to get to some of your recovery jobs. Much respect for your skill, experience and humility. Thanks for your videos, totally awesome content🇦🇺
I was always wondering how it all worked ?! ..🧐 Wow , I’m so impressed how you’ve created such a capable, bad ass recovery machine & adapt on the fly too any situation ! Talent , experience, knowledge and skills will always be in your tool box ..👍🏻 I’ve been looking back at all your videos and haven’t been disappointed at all & learning more all the time… Thanks for sharing your channel 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for this video. Having never been in a rock crawler, I really appreciate you explaining how you make it do what you need. As for folks that want to tell you where, when and how to run your business, "Rain on em all".
Constantly AMAZED AT YOUR INGENUITY AND DESIGN OF YOUR RIG ! It blows my mind as to your "next level" of engineering. Great content ! Warmest Regards from Arizona
Your office is so enormously cool….. Wish I had an office like that. Your rig is a marvelous one. The wrench levers as a gear stick are dope. In case nobody told you yet, you’re amazing, the way you handle your rig (even while filming). Every time you’re recovering something, you show different things to learn. BTW: you’ve shown us in your previous VLOG, steering with the front axle is not a +, it’s essential to get your rig together with the trailer around sharp corners. All and all, your channel is super. Like the people you run into half way down…..THIS IS SO COOL!!!
I've been dreaming of a set up like that for a long time. Being able to shift from F to R to 4 would come in handy. I would have never thought that was a manual with the way you run it.
Glad I found this channel. I get to see tech stuff and my fav place to wheel, Moab!!! And all the cool trails too!~ Me jealous of that twin stick.. Lol.
Nothing better than a humble man ,happy at work , that really knows his shit..with,the most capable skills and cool rig to match them !!! Very watchable.
Again, you make it look easy. That first "ledge" is actually more of an ascending minefield of jagged and missing teeth! lol. All the while as you have to crank it to the right to make the hairpin turn. I know which line I'm taking next time! Another great job man.
Alone? Not like Matt, who has a crew of 27 people for every recovery? Matt always travels with a dedicated weather person, 2 men to get snacks, 6 camera people and 4 editors and, of course, at least a dozen people to laugh at his jokes and tell everybody how great he is. Just kidding! Matt is a great guy and so you are, Rory!
So cool that you share your wealth of knowledge and experience as you do these recoveries. I’m down in Moab a lot and now I know who to call when I get in a pickle. Love your channel!
Have to echo Mikes blue skies comment, being able to switch between front, rear or four wheel drive haven’t come across before. Great video and hello from the Uk 🇬🇧
You are an excellent operator and builder. Trail Mater is one of the most bad ass vehicles on the trail. When you helped Matt get the dump truck, skid steer, and Dodge out is where I gained a lot of respect for your skills. I live in Montana and the fact that dual truck was able to help in the snow without chains was amazing. Duals are not as good in the snow especially when breaking trail. I think if you guys worked in MT you would be slinging chains a lot more. Good video.
It is so neat that you just happen to have everything you need - broke trailer we'll weld it - missing part - lets see if we have it - most times you do. It is just awesome!!!! I mean - you work the winch, move the wheels on the jeep, and watch where it's going all at the same time. My my - I couldn't do that! lol Darn nice office it is too. I want an office like that! It all works whether it's just Rory or the whole crew. Love it.
Cool video with the in cab driving and explanations. I’m not sure how that system works engaging and disengaging on the move but it’s way cool and a nice piece of engineering. Always love the trailer and Matt from Matt off road recovery changed his trailer to the same suspension or lack of that you are running and it seemed to work well only half finished. Thanks for info on trail mater👍👍
Man that old girl is a BEAST I CAN WAIT TO SEE THE NEW ONE YOU DO. Enjoy your videos .I and my wife and friends use to four wheeling all over southern Utah I had a C-J -5 .Had a whole lot of fun.
Were you doing this recovery AND filming this, by yourself? - Because the terrain was extreme and driving while towing would be pretty damn impressive enough as it is - But holding a friggin' smartphone steady to get the shots shown in the video AND driving is just about unimaginable! Ha! - GREAT video!
Just started watching and love the content. watching the video’s gives people a chance to see some of the trails, then you can make smarter decisions if your not sure of yourself. i give it a 110%. Keep um coming my friend!
Great video. Excellent driving and I am sure that was sound advice. I probably won't be needing it next time I go to the supermarket, but hey! I might have to drive over a kerb.
I do like the way yo have the trailer set up. Low center of gravity is the first thing i thought of when i watched your channel for the first time. Awesome trailer Awesome driving and control of everything..
Always interesting to watch you at work. I would imagine you would go through brake parts often, especially holding back some of the rigs going downhill. Thanks for sharing.
Trail Mater I just ran across your video hear and I absolutely loved it!! I definitely subscribed and liked this video!! I will definitely be watching more of your videos for sure!!!
Love that mainly Chevy rig, listening to that thing purr, awesome set up,welder is sweet, can't believe I just now found you ,always been curious after seeing you on Morr and fab rats
I met you a couple of weeks ago, and found your CZcams channel, man so cool I envy your job, that’s an impressive truck, and impressive driving skills man

This is fake rite?
@@blainewinstone3470 No... Watch the channel ..it's legit, What are you questioning ? Its a super modified 82 1 ton chevy
burh he's driving a car at 3 mph wtf stop exaggerating
LEGEND
Well put!!
Rory , after watching Matts off road recovery.
Utube recommended I watch your channel, trail mater is an awesome rig !!
Built for purpose, what a machine 💪 👏
And your skills , to drive with all the controls... 👍👍

Another Canuck totally agrees!
Best comment on here. Its like the dude who has all the bells an whistles, looks good. Vs, maiter. The guy who uses what he has and has his stuff dialed in. Pure driving.
With all those levers and controls in the cab it's like you're playing a one man band machine. 😄
Me too

Love the truck. Love the channel. As a complete novice I really appreciate the “front dig” explanation. I’ve seen you do that move before and usually attributed the angles to the short wheel base.
That welder is way more compact and convenient than I expected. Really cool you can do repairs like that out in the bush
How exactly is that set up? Would love to add one to my rig

And again another professionally done job. I watch a lot of recovery channels but in my book you’re number one in my book.
You do have one of the best office views, oh and a lol about it being cleaner than your shop..
So, I'm telling my girlfriend how difficult the trail is, how important it is to choose the right line, concentrating on getting it right

So glad you started a channel so we can see what kind of rescues you do it's awesome😁
As a new subscriber it's a treat to watch a man operate and explain his custom built wrecker while on the job!
Thanks so much for the run down on how your Wrecker works from the driver’s seat, it really helped my understanding of how much is going on just to get to some of your recovery jobs. Much respect for your skill, experience and humility. Thanks for your videos, totally awesome content🇦🇺

Rory , I am sure that you already know this , but , you are incredible .
Thank you for showing and explaining the orchestrated chaos that goes on inside the cab. I appreciate the explanation.
Glad I found this channel. I get to see tech stuff and my fav place to wheel, Moab!!! And all the cool trails too!~ Me jealous of that twin stick.. Lol.
Cool to see a group of discovery’s hitting the trails .
That is one bad ass truck you have there. Looks like something straight out of a Mad Max movie!! Keep the vids coming !!
Nothing better than a humble man ,happy at work , that really knows his shit..with,the most capable skills and cool rig to match them !!!
Very watchable.
I was hoping to see a detailed driving video! And you add a recovery and welding! Top it off with great scenery. More of these please.
"This is my office" ,and wow now that's an office .Loving the front wheel drive for getting round those tight corners Rory 👍
mad skills driving Rory! and that is a super rad trailer! Seems to be the perfect setup for you.
I love that you have the ability to do weld in the middle of the desert. Good work!
Still the best drive to work I've seen 🇬🇧🇺🇸😁
I could watch you all day .... you have my dream job haha
Again, you make it look easy. That first "ledge" is actually more of an ascending minefield of jagged and missing teeth! lol. All the while as you have to crank it to the right to make the hairpin turn. I know which line I'm taking next time! Another great job man.
You make it look easy operating the Trail Mater through the trails with all operations in the cab!
Finally see this old video explaining how and what kind of welder you got!!! Love that trailer!!!
Alone? Not like Matt, who has a crew of 27 people for every recovery? I wish i had your knowledge and job! Ive been binge watching your videos, good job man keep up the sweet recoverys! I learn something new every video👍
Terrific video! Keep the how-to's coming.
I envy you that office. A great display of technique , knowledge and skill. All without a spotter!!

Rory has a plan and is an expert when it comes to rock crawling. He knows his wrecker and what it’s capable of doing in order to get the job done.
Liked the video again, the view is so awesome out there. I went ahead and subscribed. Enjoying your videos.
Beautiful welding booth.
What an amazing rig you've built, but great driving skills!!!
Heck...I love listening to the tires....and the motor....it's one cool rig...on some neat terrain..
Cool video with the in cab driving and explanations. I’m not sure how that system works engaging and disengaging on the move but it’s way cool and a nice piece of engineering. New guy here liked the talking and driving much respect.
I can only imagine the recovery’s you’ve been on that were not filmed.😎

I am digging watching your channel .. you go thru some crazy stuff 😬😮
Would be cool to have a drone and watch this from above too 🤙🏼🤙🏼
I think you do an awesome job every time, and I don't think you need to explain what you are doing to anyone. You are very good at what you do
Your office decora seems to fit your personality perfectly. --- Thanks for the great upload. ---
Dinosaur Colorado USA saying hello and stay safe, thank you for sharing and helping so many people.
Just going back to watch some of your older stuff that i haven't seen, love that inverter welder!

You are the best of the best brother bar none! And yes what an awesome office you have sir! Thanks for all your hard work and thanks for sharing!
Makes me miss trail exploring in Nevada, east of Reno, out in the hills, just climbing over mountains and through washouts and dry creak beds.
Love the shifters...lol totally functional! Love your videos Rory!
Great job, Rory ! Thanks for sharing and taking us along for the ride.
Great result. Combination of equipment and knowing how to best use it. Truck always impresses.
Rory, I love all the waving in air arm movements you do for the remote to work hahah... BTW I love your t-shirt. As always your skills shine outright.
Great video. Excellent driving and I am sure that was sound advice. I probably won't be needing it next time I go to the supermarket, but hey! I might have to drive over a kerb.
Awesome Truck, Trailer, and Driving Skills! Thanks for Sharing! Great Video!
Thank you! Now I finally get what twin sticks are all about
I do like the way yo have the trailer set up. Low center of gravity is the first thing i thought of when i watched your channel for the first time. Awesome trailer Awesome driving and control of everything..
Pretty amazing truck! Love your stuff.
that is one heck of a vehicle you have built.. Thks for the explanation on your ability to shift the rear drive on/off. That is really slick.
Always interesting to watch you at work. I would imagine you would go through brake parts often, especially holding back some of the rigs going downhill. Thanks for sharing.
You just have the best job Rory, and you're really good at it.
Binge watching tonight, and this is another awesome one Rory!
