getting stutters at 188 fps is like suffering from success
just limit it to 150 fps or something, then no suffering and almost same smoothness
or use msaa x8 haha

@@praneelsinha6211 Ultra Grass Quality + MSAA 8x is guaranteed drop below 60 fps even on a 3090 or 6900 xt, at least at resolutions above 1080p

Back in the day gta wasn’t and still isn’t optimized for it
Well in 2015 this wasn't a problem at all so they didn't think about it

Pretty sure there wasn't any hardware capable of getting these FPS back when the game was made
@@stefannita3439 gta 5 released in 2013 for pc and GPUs weren't that good in those you would find the 3 gigs and 2 gigs GPU like gt710 and amd rx 560.
The game was initially for PS3 and Xbox 360 which couldn't run the game in 30+ fps .
Later when the game came it could run in 60 fps in a mid end device.
Now this game doesn't even get a 60 fps in a mid end pc .
The new release of rtx made the game possible to run it in 100 fps later.

This video was very enlightening at the fps I'm losing with my 3060 ti by using a ryzen 5 3600 instead of zen 3. I mean it's not bad or anything, it's fine really and plays all the games at good frame rates. But I am going to to upgrade my cpu after Rembrandt or zen 3+ releases and we see how much better that is. Basically I want the fastest 1080p gaming AM4 socket cpu I can get. But yeah, great video.

@@maaax1173 Too late. I can't believe my luck but after hearing me cry about it, a fellow gamer on discord offered me a used 5800x for $230 about a month ago, and yes I know I got extremely lucky. The difference is night and day over the r5 3600. The smoothness and frame rate increase is an experience that can't be shown through just benchmarks. I now have the performance I paid for. The 5800x and 3060 ti is an awesome combination.

GTA 5 ran pretty much the same on my 980 at high setting and 1080p as it does on 8K high setting on the 3060 ti. So needless to say I'm really excited to play this game now on the 3060 ti.

Maybe setting locked FPS to 180 would fix the problem if the game does have an option to lock the FPS at a certain highest value without VSync. (I wonder why 188+ specifically when it breaks, and not something like 200?)

The 3069 ti does that with a lot of games. It’s basically a 2080 super. It’s a killer card, but I had to pay $750 at launch. You’ll get a high refresh rate experience on most games, but you’ll have to vsync and frame limit it often. Pair it with gsync and you’re golden.

I think you should get like an RX 470 or GTX 970, those are overpriced but not as much as the newer, better GPUs.
Then wait for the prices to drop and get the card you want, if you want a high end card that is :)

Thank you so mich for declaring the frame cap in GTA! I had so much stutters when I had around 180 FPS and always was wondering why, now I know! vSync always fixed that issue though
Download MSI Afterburner alongside RivaTuner Statistics Server.
You can cap your fps with that software and it works perfectly in basically any game.
Limit it to 185, or more realistically to a few fps below your average, and optimally also to an fps value that your monitor's refresh rate divides into equally (like 180, 90, 60 or 30 fps for a 180Hz monitor)
Hiii! My rtx 3060 ti and Ryzen 5900x seems to be bottlenecking especially when i play GTA 5 and a few other games. Coming from a rtx 2060 i expected decent framerate increase at 1080p High settings but it drops even below my Rtx 2060 at times. My GPU utilization when im not in the city is in the 90s but when im in the city it drops to the 40s with 50 to 60 fps. My build -

Thanks for the benchmark, i was just wondering why the hell is there such a big difference between GTA 5 and online as i have the same setup, it's just that I have a weaker CPU which is Ryzen 5 3600 paired with 16 gigs of ram and RTX 3060ti. I get 110FPS on average in GTA 5 but in online it may dip to as low as 60 or even less when modders just create a hell out of a session!
Hi, it's just because they optimized GTA 5 to run on only 4 cores and when you're playing online it processes what other people are doing as well on those same 4 cores, so it's way more CPU intensive.
Faster cores = higher FPS of course, but yeah, it's just an old game with an old engine, not optimized for newer stuff.

Online is not just a CPU bottleneck, it also depends on the servers and internet connection

There’s a fix for the stuttering with high FPS. If you have afterburner, you can set the max fps limit to 170.
Better limit to 150 fps, if you have 144 Hz display
When u have such a powerful gpu that GTA 5 cannot handle it properly xD

3060ti can run 8k 30+fps at high, while ps4/xbox one were locked at 1080p30 medium-high, that's more than 16x increase in performance for 3060ti which is within 10-15% perf. margin of PS 5/Xbox Series X, imagine what rockstar can do with 16x increase in GPU/CPU power for GTA 6...
and 1440p 60fps with some drops here and there or 4k 30fps. :p

Hey kryzzp, plz test out a rtx 3060 laptop. From what I've seen, the mobile chip struggles to keep 75 fps at very high 1080p without msaa, and I can't trust anyone but you.
Hi! There must be a CPU bottleneck in the configuration you saw, my 2060m with a r7 4800H got well above 75 FPS at those settings!
I don't have a 3060 laptop so unfortunately I can't test it, at least for now...
