    Representing true on-the-road royalty, the Panther 1600 Rooftop Tent by 23Zero raises expectations.
    The lift and fold design enables a quick set up by sundown and pack down by the crack of dawn, from those prompt stopovers to those drawn-out days of outdoor indulging. Strong enough to support big dreams, the two-piece aluminium baseboard boasts a lightweight honeycomb construction and is topped with a memory foam mattress and polyester quilt for plush comfort out bush. Turn it on when off the grid, owing to the LED strip lighting with USB plugs - and power up down under, with T-slot racks that enable solar panel mounting.
    With arched windows on either side, achieve optimum ventilation and a dry interior during adverse weather - and swap the city lights with the outback night, thanks to a removable flysheet and stargazing roof window. Keep the tackle together in the internal storage pockets, and keep your kicks from heading up sticks with external shoe pockets. To maximise the storage space in your vehicle too, your sleep setup can remain stowed and secured in the tent. Built-in elastic shock bands allow for packing flat without the bulge.
    With rugged durability from the racks to the roof, the 23Zero 1600 Rooftop Tent sits above the rest.

    Good stuff Ben wish you'd do a review on every product I'm thinking of buying haha.
    Quick one for you, what are the dimensions between the mounting rails on top of the hard shell? Trying to gauge how big of a solar panel it could fit.

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem

      Thanks for the kudos, Luke. They are about 90cm centres for the top rails, we cover off on a few more details on these in our features video which you can see here if you haven't already - czcams.com/video/jIvpylN4_18/video.html. ~ Ben

    This video has come in handy big time. Do these need to be seasoned like a swag?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před 4 měsíci

      No need to season them, even new swags don't need to be seasoned given fabric and seam sealing technologies nowadays. I'm glad our video was useful. ~ Ben

    Is it possible to add mattress toppers and leave them on for pack down?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem +1

      You might be able to add a thin mattress topper, Dildz, but anything too thick will make it harder to close. ~ Ben

    Can you easily reach the straps etc when it is mounted on your roof?

    • @lukethompson120
      @lukethompson120 Před rokem

      It's on the side of the vehicle so would only worry you if you're vertically challenged

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem

      I assume you mean the straps for pack-up/set-up? If so, then it really depends on the height of your vehicle, but the long strap used for raising /lowering the canopy is extra long and will be plenty long enough for most vehicles. ~ Ben

    Are there any seals where it closes? Looks like water could work its way under the hard shell in heavy rain driving

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před rokem

      I'd say theres a rare chance abit of water could get in, but nothing that should cause any issues.
      Ultimately its a waterproof canvas tent which you can use year round, and theres a small canvas skirt that runs along the edge of the tent.
      Its not going to get more wet than it would if you were to set it up and use it in a down pour.
      Its be recommended to open up your tent and give it a good dust off/sweep out when you get home from a trip anyway, so you'd notice if it needed abit of drying out.

      I have the Armadillo A3 and drive daily in the PNW with lots of rain and haven’t had any issues with that at all. It’s dry as a bone.

    So… you’re supposed to be able to reach those elastic band straps during setup… without a ladder?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před 4 měsíci

      Depends on how your rooftop tent is mounted I guess, you may well need to attach the ladder in order to reach the straps. ~ Ben

    Possibly the worst mattress I’ve ever slept on and because of the size of the Panther 2000 almost impossible to find a mattress to fit up there.
    I’ve had a fair amount of water get in along the opening side of tent while driving in rain and it’ll be interesting to see how much dust gets in there behind a convoy.
    Besides those grievances I absolutely love this rtt so quick and easy to set up and pack up with endless room in them.

      Thanks for the feedback @pava01 - I'd be changing up the water ingress with 23Zero or out warranty team if you got it from us. 23Zero have suggested this shouldnt be an issue

    Hey Ben
    Which is the best tent for a family as of today?
    I’m thinking of buying Coleman north 10 person
    Thanks for your advice.

      Everyone is going to have their own opinion of what is best, Ankur, but I do think that the Coleman Northstar 10 is a great family camping option. ~ Ben
