There’s a reason I buy most of my gear from Snowys.
I really appreciate the effort you put into your customer service and product information.
I just had my RV3 Plus and ground sheet delivered to me in Tassie and watched this during my initial set up.
    Thanks folks, you’re the best!
Fantastic tent as well by the way!

I have the RV3 tent. Just got back from a 8 day camp trip in the Rocky mts here in the US.
It rained evey day on us and some days it rained all night.
Also I have the peaked side panels and front panel. Wind blew 20 to 25 mph sometimes with the rain. This tent stood up to all the wind and rain that it done. We and our gear that was inside the tent did not get wet. Unless it was on the ground setting on the Oz tent footprint under the front fly. 2" of water and dry on the inside.
Also I have the rainfly. I brought it but would forget to put it on after setup. Again, without the fly we stayed dry. I highly recommend this tent for dang sure. Really impressed with it. And it was nice and cool at 10K foot plus cramping..

Thanks for your feedback, Dennis, glad to hear your RV3 held up to some stormy weather, I certainly feel well protected in my RV5. ~ Ben

Hi, thank you for your great video.
Could you tell me how to secure the tent on a roof rack without causing damaging the product, especially frames? I normally use ratchet ropes to tight down things on roof rack but I have concern that tightening ropes too hard may bend the frames as some people mentioned in review of products. What are your tricks? Any videos? Thank you in advance.

Straps are fine to use on these tents, Mosushi, I use two cam straps done up firmly and space them so the tent is divided into 3 equal sections. Be careful with ratchets as it's easy to over tighten and cause damage.
The biggest issue comes from the tents being attached to roof bars where there is only two points of support. In this instance the tent can bounce/flex between the roof bars and on the overhang overhangs and this can cause damage. I'd recommend using a plank for extra rigidity if this is your setup, check out this article for more info - www.snowys.com.au/blog/how-to-transport-your-oztent-rv-tent/.
If you have a roof basket or flat roof tray then some straps tightened just enough to stop it from sliding around will do the trick.

@@SnowysOutdoors Thank you for your advice. I have a flat roof platform so I will use cam straps instead of ratchets. Thanks again.

Can i buy the awning ?

    • @SnowysOutdoors
      @SnowysOutdoors  Před 2 měsíci

The awning is attached to the tent, it can't be purchased separately. You could make similar thing by just using a tarp and some poles though. ~ Ben

I could do with the rain cover.
