  • Discourse on: "Letting go of Illusions" by Master Shi Heng Yi (释恒義), who is the leading headmaster of the Shaolin Temple Europe (歐洲少林寺) located in Otterberg, Kaiserslautern · Germany.
Every year there are several retreats that are taking place in the Shaolin Temple Europe 歐洲少林寺, the monastery where I am living.
A retreat can either be a 3-day Retreat (Friday - Sunday) or a 6-day Retreat (Monday - Saturday). Every retreat is held under a specific topic, such as: Gong Fu, Qi Gong (e.g. Ba Duan Jin, Yi Jin Jing, 13 Luohan), Meditation retreats and Rou Quan retreats.
If you are interested in joining any of these retreats, please take a look at all dates that are published on the website of the monastery:

That is why we called you master and top of that you are masters master. My hat 🎩 is off again for you , your softly spoken words are real weapons to combat with life, you are a real angle for humanity the world is waiting for your magic , there are to many greedy and egoistic and selfish, evil mind around the world which probably control 80% of people, educated mind , political mind and business mind has engineer only their site, they are almost blind to see the reality, in my view humanity is crippling, and compassion is dying, that is why the universe has to create the mind like yours. And hoping you are here to train and love the positive energy. Thanks 🙏 for wonderful massage.

Itzakh Perlman, the great violinist, once visited a school in Munich, Germany. Asked by a child how much his Stradivarius had cost him, he answered " Viel Geld. Mehr als 10 Mark." But then he said " You know, in life we all borrow. But eventually, we have to give it all back." Being unseparated from life and death, being just humble borrowers, this is what we can learn from these Shaolin monks. Thank you for all the clarity in your words. There is so much to learn from you.

I’ve heard the phrase, “the circle of unknowing” which encapsulates the idea that “the more you know, the more you realise there is still to learn”. A small circle (containing only a little knowledge) has a small circumference, which is what you appreciate as the unknown (to you); a large circle’s circumference is far greater.

I am love, I am peace, I am pure and eternal. I am the knower, the known, and the knowing. And yet I am none of these. For when these cease to be I still am. I know that I cannot know my absolute self. Yet I cannot say that I do not know it, for without it there could be no knowing at all. I cannot know it, because I always was. Before anything was, I am. After every is, I am.

This is beautiful and well explained. I’m about to have my first child a boy in a few months. I have been learning so much from the wise in the past years and learned from my own experience from looking at my parents how they raised me what works what does not work and what can be done differently. With out judging them. They did their best and their intentions were good. I notice that one should not put their religious political believes on their child. Instead we should nurture kids and let them be a full flesh life of their own. Not what we would want them to be or even put our limitations on them. Simply guide them away from the bad areas of life. Crime. Become their friend in the process. Also when a child is in different stages of life they must be treated differently. What I mean is, it is a mistake to treat your child at 13 or 14 like if he is still 9 or 10 and so on. This will creat conflict. One must know how to interact with their child as they grow older by gaining understanding, not acting as a dictator and building a relationship from a young age where they can trust you and tell you everything. This has to be built is not a given. Kids do what they see you do, not what you actually tell them with words. Words only shape your actions. So if your actions are matching your words, then they will listen. Example.. I can’t speak to my child about the importance of fitness and exercise if he or she does not see me working out and in shape. The words and actions are not aligned. So even tough you are correct in your speech of telling them how importance it won’t mean much if they don’t see you doing it.

A: Are you afraid of dying?
    B: Yes. I'm really scared.
A: Well then you should have practiced more.
B: You had to rub it under my nose...

I am not afraid to die. I would say it's a good day to die, no matter what type of day or night it is. Because Life is short no matter how long lived and the after-life is forever on. And I know that I have always put my best foot forward in life & try to be a good kind Hearted generous person with love to all. And balanced both sides of Myself of Evil & Non-EviL. And was not afraid to speak my mind! I'm afraid of Karma!
I still cry over my toys that were taken from me in childhood. Even though I had learn to go on with out those toys. Those toys never harmed Me, those toys gave Me Pleasure, Joy, Happiness & Purpose! And I believe that Everything is alive, including my toys!
Because I treasure & respect everything, within Reason!

It is common nature of human beings - "Fear of Uncertainty." For a baby, the first thing when the baby was born is crying, crying for the uncertainty of this world. Baby is used to be on the inside of mother's womb. As experienced adults in this world, we teach, help and nurture the baby to grow, to learn, to cope with this world. By gesturing, soft touching, comforting the baby, baby learns to feel uneasy little by little. For a dying man, he/she is "used to" live, love the life in this world and "fear of uncertainty" of after-death. If he/she has lived his life to his/her fullest or best, he/she may have no regrets. I agree with Master Shi, the dying man needs to learn to "let it go" just like it happened in his life. Letting go can find peace. Nothing is forever.

Everything I possess inside and out is a loan from God for this earthly journey only. Better not to become attached to what we have. Every Pharaoh's tomb of wealth was eventually robbed.

I am not and have never been afraid of actual death and where we go when we leave here. However I am desperately afraid of leaving this world and my children not having me before they are grown, self sufficient and have a family of their own. I want to live as long as my children need me to protect them guide them, teach them and help them any way they need.

In life, people suffer. They suffer because they are attached to an opinion, an opinion driven by desire.
The way we stop suffering is to loose the attachment of the opinion, driven by the desire.

It helps the rational mind to think about quantum physics. The entire existence is made up of particles dancing with themselves (energy) what interprets what particles are doing is Consciousness and Consciousness is One. When we start the experience in what we call life, a fragment of Consciousness is forced to forgive its origin to experience itself in a form which can be human, animal, plant, insect and so forth. During the experience of life, we identify ourselves with our ego which is made up of the stream of thoughts and memories during the existence of an individual. However, no matter how far you've gone, in the end there is always one way home: awakening and resurrection. Once all the attachments are gone, you are ready to consciouly return One with Source. Infinity and immortality are our true essence but can only be discovered by transcending the human experience!

that was awesome video which Master Yi goes deep into one of the fundamental questions about our existence as spirit and our perception of ourselves as a human being with an ego! I am currently studying a Taoist practice but everything he said is exactly what they are teaching us there. So it helps in that way because it is confirmation of the principles. Thank you!
