The preacher is my favorite bowie as well, the Big Jim is crealy a winner of this contest, enjoyed this my brother, great job!!! Would love to own all of yours one day..
DBAD, you're awesome. I'm still waiting on my Big Jim Bowie to arrive from KHHI, it will be the first of your Bowie knife designs that I'll own. Thanks for the awesome knives and keep them coming. When you get around to it, I'd like to see you design a bigger and better version of the Natchez bowie. Thanks very much.
Awww yeah! So glad you picked the WarMachine as your overall "If I could just have one!" I Will DEFINITELY have a war machine soon. Thanks for the mention ol'boy! Hahaha the birds chirping got your brain to kick in to remember Samurai Byrd. Perfect.
Thanks for the nod to my comment on the War Machine! In no way was I dissing the KA-BAR. That's still a fantastic knife, but the WM does have it beat. Like I said, that grip feels so natural, it doesn't even feel like I'm holding a deadly weapon. The only downside is the grip makes it a little more difficult to flip to ice pick grip and back. The pommel actually prevents the knife from slipping out if you do it quickly (though I'm getting better at changing grips with the WM with more practice). Other than that, the WM outperforms everywhere else. That's in my top 3 along with the Mission III. For my third, I do love the Old West Toothpick, and would love to see how you'd pull off a full tang version in the future. An honorable mention, but I'll never use it because it's a collector's item is the Hibben Kenpo Fighting Knife. Unlike the current Hibbens that are made in China, this was made in Taiwan in the 70s, and is much higher quality. As a kenpoist, I definitely love the blade. It's a good nod to the original Parker knife Gil Hibben made for Ed Parker and Elvis Presley. Can't get those unless Hibben actually hand makes one for you, or if you have tens of thousands you're willing to spend on a single blade. Another knife I love is the Mod Mark 3. It's smaller than even the KA-BAR, but what I love about it is that it's water proof. If you're working with water or out camping, and cutting a branch out of the water, it's a good knife to have on you for that. That would be my backup to the John J Tribute, which I also love. I'd add more Dbad's to my top knives if I had them in my arsenal. I'm not sure what I'll get next. Eying the Jim Bowie, the Gator, and the khukuri.
The older KA-BAR utility knives are better than the current, but the new ones are still good. The balance is terrible, but it was designed after a hunting knife so it's not something they were going for anyway.
@@DonnieBAllDay Agreed. It's cliche, but it's so true that they don't make things the way they used to. That's why your line is a breath of fresh air. True handmade knives that are high quality and serve the intended purpose, and your designs are spot on. 👌 I can't wait to get my hands on more.

Excellent choices there Donnie. And funny thing is, my most "favorite" knives I have, just happen to be DBAD designes too! My Crogall and OEF Defender are not just beautiful to look at, they're also AS effective as they are beautiful! And that says A LOT!!! Now, I really, "really" like all of my other knives (and I've got quite a few) but those two DBAD's, are the ones I love the most... No bullshit! PLEASE, keep up the good work...
Yeah that Preacher is definitely one of my favorites among the "go anywhere, do anything" category. I don't know who designed it but I guess they maybe knew something about knives... Speaking of KHHI knives, the only other knife that could compete with the Preacher for my top spot would be their Mini Prince kukri. Just top notch stuff from them.
Hey Donnie B, love the Case Bowie, the Preacher looks like an awesome utility knife! The Big Jim looks lethal! The USMC style fighting knife War Machine looks very practical. Thanks for sharing Dave
If I could only have one knife, It’d be the Big Jim. It’s legitimately my favorite knife ever. Actually, I pretty much ignore my other toothpicks now. If I could only have two knives, it’d be TWO Big Jim’s.
I really like some of your knife designs. I've been a customer of KHHI before and ordered the Old War Bowie and the Camp Master. I'm very satisfied with both and I actually had them do a shorter version of the Old War Bowie specifically for me because the original is just a bit to large and heavy as an all purpose knife.
Man, I do like my Case bowie's aesthetics, but the factory edge on it was about 1/16" on the front third of the blade. I got it around 1994 or so, and I guess the quality control has improved a lot!
Awesome lineup my brother and once again lady’s and gentlemen the preacher ((my grail knife)) is designed by the man your looking in this video, omg I can’t believe you mentioned me, love you brother ❤️
Cool knives. Though that one clip point probably isnt a copy of Jim Bowie's. His brother Rezin made the original for Jim & said It wasn’t the familiar clip pointed blade we know today. It was a large butcher knife. Rezin described the knife in an 1838 article as "being nine and a half inches long, an inch and a half wide, and without any curve".
Different knife. You're thinking of the one he used at the sandbar fight. The "Musso" is one he carried just prior to leaving for the Alamo. He gifted it to a friend after accepting his orders for Texas. This blade parameter and shape is an actual copy of his knife. I was allowed in a museum after hours to video it and take photos. Its not clear if Rezin designed it or a friend of Jims whose last name was Musso, hence, "The Musso Bowie"
