His grandpa would probably say "hey I was going to use that"
Things I heard my grandpa say everyday
Do you know how much that would cost if you needed one of those!
Or don't throw that I might need it 😇😇😇
"Hey who threw this away? There's still a lot of life left in this."
I was thinking of how each of those items COULD be used instead of it being thrown away.
Of course I was raised in a time when EVERYTHING had at least a 2 lifes before we considered it trash. Then we would give it to someone else who thought it could still be used for something
I don’t understand why you took out all those trees in your front yard. Your farm is beautiful. You must be proud of all you have accomplished while going to college and help running the farm. You truly are amazing!!
It gave him more land to plant crops and thus increase income.
Trees like humans don't live forever you take them down before they start coming down on stuff that costs a literally truck load of money
@@GarrethandPipa I thought many of them came down looking rotten inside.
@@Scottish-tart because of when it was built the flooring will be 4 times thicker than the flooring you buy today. I am not saying that it isn't ALOT of work but when you have more time than money. It is an option for those who are looking for it.
Probably dampness
It made me sad to see the beautiful big trees all taken out! What a huge job. You certainly are making a clean slate
Same.
Criminal imho
They were old and probably at the end of their life, he can always plant new ones.
I'm an arborist and thought the same thing. What a tragic loss to remove all the trees his grandfather planted. Most of them were in good shape and would have lived for a long time. I admire all the work cleaning up the place though. Huge amount of work.
@yvonneprimeau5475 Well, all of the large ones were at least 100 years…and still standing…along with the house.
I live on a farm that isn’t similar to yours… It is exactly like yours (I would be happy to send you pictures!) In spite of your incredible… Really incredible work, people have no idea of how daunting it is. We have a beautiful home that is surrounded by junk farm equipment. Rather than clean up old buildings, we just build new ones. But the junk is still here. Amazing, exceptional job. I’m just gob smacked by how much you have accomplished. Congratulations!
Yeah just leave the junk it looks good always can use it
It's a gold mine at the scrap yard
You brought an incredibly amount of honor to your family, it’s history and future. Amazing!
Thanks! This motivates this 62 year old to get rid of the clutter. I don’t want to leave this for my wife or sons to deal with when I’m gone. Thank you!!
Yeah, that's just it, Nobody wants to clean up someone Else's past
I am amazed that you could get rid of all that good junk! You need to write a book on how you did it. You my young man are a positive influence on so many, and you know a lot about many things. I have made 75 trips around the sun and you are one of my hero’s. You keep going my man. Thanks for feeding America.
“ I loaded shit onto a trailer the end” there’s your book
Being raised on a farm and having a father that was on the farm during the great depression I know about Junk equipment and what my dad called his bone yard of spare parts and things he might need. These old guys never threw anything away because they were raised and lived when you fixed what you had and you made do with everything.
If you ever have the privilege to work with these older folks and realize this country could learn a lot from them about making things work rather then having the throw away society we have today.
I really think your father and your grandfather would be busting at the seems proud of you.
You have an amazing additude and if more young folks had your mindset this country of ours would turn around and it might sound crazy but it would return to the great place to live I remember .
Well done and for what it's worth this old man is proud of you an would love to be able to call you my friend.
God bless you and your future dreams.
All my kids built their vehicles out of my salvage yard and their garden tractors and equipment too my youngest 2 just turned 18 they're not afraid of driving antiques
Cole, I am a 54 year old mother to 3 boys. My husband and I have been married for 28 years. The year of 2022 was absolutely awful to us as we lost our house in Norcal Jan02,2022 and we became homeless. We fortunately had an old tent trailer which we camped in for 6 whole months. Then my husband went back to work after cv19. So, on 6/24 he fell between 8-30 ft down to the ground. He was hurt so bad and ended up needing emergency brain to to the speech center of his brain. His job put me and our kids into hotel rooms. We got out of the hotel rooms and finally found a large brand new house that would fit me and our 3 kids. We moved in 2 weeks ago. My husband is still in the hospital 6 months later and he is improving but he still can’t walk, talk, eat, swallow and we did what we told ourselves we were going to do. On a good note if you want to take it this way, I lost over 100lbs this year and I look in the mirror and I can’t believe how much I have changed. Wearing cloths I have not been able to wear since before my kids were born. My point here is, we learned what not to do and get into a rental house to have a safe roof over our heads and to get our lives back together. We are doing it.
Wow - what an impressive true story. Best of luck to you and your family!
So sorry for your troubles, congratulations on getting back up and fighting on. 💖
I am impressed at how you and the family have handled this curveball that life has sent you. Just keep on doing what your doing as it is working. In doing so you are showing your children by not giving up that things do improve over time. There is always someone worse off than you, and SMILING BEATS CRYING. Will be thinking of your struggle. Tho life is tough it will get easier. Best of life and luck.
🥲🤗🥰
Congratulations
This has got to be about the best video on what life's all about that I've probably EVER watched!! Dude, you just hit the matters of life in the MOST SPECTACULAR WAY!! This is the way EVERYBODY needs to be. You are a shining example of what it means to be a man. Congratulations to you and I'm sure your Grandfather is mighty proud of you. You took what he gave you and didn't just take it for granted.
What? Why knock down mature trees?
Wow Cole, to this 52yr old guy here, you are an inspiration . You can inspire so many others your age to go places and reach their dreams with your dedication and hard work . Such an amazing transformation of your farm yard and house as well. You are an exceptional young man and you're going to go far in life with that kind of work ethic.
Cole, that's a hell of an accomplishment for such a young man. I'll bet Mama and Daddy Cornstar are the proudest parents in the world!
...and you know your sister is also proud of you, as well, Cole...
...and your brother...whether or not he is able to show or tell you.
That was a great video. I cannot believe we have been watching that long
😮
Keeping in mind: your grandfather came from a MUCH DIFFERENT TIME. He was taught to use everything to its ABSOLUTE maximum. He looked at a boneyard as a savings account essentially. I’m certain that were he to see his farm being restored to it’s beautiful past state: he would be very impressed, and proud of you young man! I’m glad to see you have such love for your family land and name. You have a happy and proud angel walking that property…
And the people throwing everything away will become like Grandpa's dad, broke and with nothing.
Make sure you keep the farm in the family
I honestly think that I needed that is a lot of hooey they just wanted hoard it
I grew up pretty poor, so I tend to horde a lot of things. "I may need this some day", I always tell my wife, to her dismay.
@@KingTheRat : Did you notice that when you throw something away, you need it the next day?
I don't remember how many times I saved the day by finding a weird size bolt in my garage that fit some appliance or furniture that needed fixing😁
What an amazing transformation. You are sure not afraid of work and farms take work, lots of it. I was sad to see some of the trees go and a few of the buildings . But i know each building gets taxed, at least on our farm. Your Grandpa and Greatgrandpa have to be very proud that you want to continue their legacy.
Granddad is looking down and smiling at how much you love his home. ❤ Congratulations on making it yours.
Absolutely, but he's probably also a bit pissed too as Cole threw out his stash of stuff 😃, but that's okay. His grand-dad gave him the farm and said make it yours which Cole has done which I'm sure would have made his grandfather very happy. You can tell Daddy Cornstar is impressed too.
Good for Cole. Wish I was mid 20's again and had that kind of energy to get up every morning and just go go go doing stuff, miss those days.
My God, daddy cornstar is the spitting image of his father , I had never seen a photo of him 🥰
On the video where daddy Cornstar sees the Oliver tractor he talks about his dad. He seems like a copy of his dad. So sweet
LITERALLY
Should have kept the big mature trees for shade and wind block but just my opinion you must like it open.
I was cringing every time they knocked one down.
Someone mentioned that the trees were sick. Probably rotting or insect infected.
@@HensOnly But every single one? I kinda doubt they were all rotten.
Done some of my own cleanup.. and sometimes its easier do just clean it all!! "I am a I am gona use that type of person..."
This is business not a park. The trees are NOT native.
Epic clean up. Unbelievable project. Well done. And your grandpa must have been a very successful farmer to own all that old equipment. I'm sure the local Massey Ferguson dealer was sorry to see him retire. Good luck.
You have brought new life into the family farm. Amazing transformation everything looks beautiful.. Grandpa is looking down smiling knowing the legacy he built will live on for generations to come.
So sad to see all those shady trees taken out. 😢 Other than that, FABULOUS JOB!!!
wow... my exact thoughts. :(
That and tearing down the old round barn. Round here those are treasures to be restored.
Also thought it was sad. Beautiful trees!
Yeah, my thoughts too.
I'm sure they had their reasons. Trees out in open fields get damaged real easy due to wind, hopefully they make a new tree line that would be a great idea!
Nothing like hearing someone in your life say they are proud of you. Cole, we are proud of you. Keep up the hard work.
You poured your heart, sweat & tears into making your Grandfather’s property your own. It was wonderful to get his blessing before he passed. All of your hard work & dedication will live on for many many more years to come and for future generations and your son’s generation. Keep pushing & keep digging!! God bless!
I started watching your channel with your latest harvest and always thought how neat and well organized your farm looked. Now that I have seen this video I'm like wow. What an amazing job. I'm sure your grandfather would be very proud! Amazing job!!
This is the episode I’ve been waiting for! And I wasn’t disappointed. It’s absolutely amazing how much you got accomplished in those six years! You’re a very impressive young man and I salute you. If the world had more of you with your determination and drive, it would be a much better place.
Thank you for editing this video!! I know it took awhile!! What a milestone!!
It took 3 1/2 years

This is absolutely amazing. You should be so incredibly proud of what you did! I'm willing to bet your Grandpa is smiling down on you with a tear in his eye because of how proud you made him with that farm.
Makes me wish I didn't grow up in suburbia.
I've been watching for years. It was really interesting but to see it in one combined retrospect, really brings it home. You've done a fantastic job Cole.
When you can see the improvements from outer space, you really know how much you've accomplished.
Blackie apie
This is incredible, you should be proud of all that you've accomplished. Nothing short of amazing the transformation of this property. I watched from beginning to end and I recommend this video to anyone.
This might be one of the most satisfying videos I’ve ever watched. To see this place that has been neglected for so long, cleaned up and restored to its full beauty just fulfills something g deep in me. I’m sure that this farm has done tons of work and all of the things that were used up and left behind are a testament to those generations of hard work. But it’s so nice to see your property be used in a way that honors it’s beauty instead of treating it as a junkyard for all of the discarded tools from all those years of work. What an accomplishment and what an honor to all of the generations of your family who have lived there will live there. Keep up the good work Cole and family!!
Would love to see the progression inside the house.
Cole - nothing about "you should do this or that on the farm" - but you should publish just that last 15 minutes of this video. It was such a great motivational and philosophical talk. I have a great deal of respect for the wisdom (and yes it is wisdom) you have imparted in that short period of time. Keep taking that step at a time and moving forward you are going to definitely realize your vision for the farm and life. Truly inspirational.
Absolutely agree. I've come back and watched that last 15 minutes a number of times. Very motivational.
Your comment about Attitude is something I live by. Years ago Chuck Swindoll, a Christian pastor wrote about Attitude is Everything. Look it up. You'll agree. Btw.... Great job!! Impressive
Cole when you started taking down old buildings and cutting up stuff tearing down trees I was upset but then the revile came it was the greatest thing I've saw in a long time so great job and your grandfather would be proud.....
Absolutely amazing!! Love your thoughts about sticking to it!!
Everyone probably hated to see the old trees go but now you can plant your own and see them grow.
And how many acres did you add to your farm!!
Thanks so much!!
I'm a little overwhelmed building 2 small cabins for my daughters in MT.. so thanks for your help reminding me to keep it up!! 😊
Stick to our dreams!!
Been here since the start and it's amazing to me the amount of work you put into the farm. Your Grandpa would be proud of how great it looks. He came from the era of my parents, when hoarding everything was important for those that lived through the great depression and WWII. I've known many people like him, my grandparents were that way. You've been an inspiration to me to try and get my life more organized, who says you can't teach an old dog new tricks, good job Cole!
Holy cow, I didn’t think I was watching that long, but I remember almost all of that.
Yah, me too!!
same here!
Dang i think i been subscribed longer than i thought i was too.😳
I was thinking the same thing 😊

You are an inspiration to so many people and that has no age limit on it. I will be 42 this month and watching your videos just add a bigger drive to keep going. Thank you for sharing all you do. I know I'm a few videos behind but I watch every single one in order. Keep it up, I hope to meet you some day. Grandpa Ray is smiling down with pride in the work you have put in to marking the farm so beautiful and making it yours. ❤
Best video I have seen in 70 years. Young man that works as hard as I used to work is making a fresh clean start for himself wow really good for you. I'm glad you made the choice to make it clean and fresh. Out with the old and in with the new.
Cole... I don't think I have ever commented .I have followed you from your first upload. All I can say is wow !!!! The amount of blood sweat and tears you have put into that transformation is absolutely amazing! Great job man!!!
This young man did not just grow up. He was well raised with incredible role models!
The left calls this White Privilege, LOL, Well done young man....
You are going to miss those trees
Cole, thank you for sharing your journey and inspiration.
What an enormous task you had stepping up and restarting where your Granddad left off.
I’m curious how much you were able to sell that massive amount of scrap metal that was on that farm. Every clip you were revealing more and more stuff!
Good to see dead trees removed, sad to see good trees go, wonderful to see the house given a face lift.
You are a driven young man with a clear vision of where you are going. I wish you great success and I know you will achieve it!
🙂 grandpa is smiling down upon you and thinking-what a wonderful wonderful thing these boys have done, the farm looks magnificent 🤗
This world needs more people like Cole in it.
yes indeed
I agree but I'm not sure there is enough work for that level of effort by many Cole's!
Yes sir

Very impressive transformation...work ethic is second to few.. commendable attitude.,,..would love a more nature positive approach to these types of farms

It is good watching someone being wise, regardless of the age. My thanks to you for reminding me of what I should do today and I am 76!
I know it must have been hard work but what heritage you and your family will pass down for each generation. The house is going to be gorgeous when your all done. What a blessing your grandpa left you! I was always taught hard work will make you appreciate things more and you will always be proud of your accomplishments!
Life is a blessing! Family is a blessing!
We’re proud of you Cole. You’re an inspiration to a lot of people.
Cole you should be proud of all you and your dad and brother have accomplished is such a short amount of time.
So much discipline, determination, perseverance, and SACRAFICE was put into this transformation! Just extraordinary!!! Thank you so much for taking the extra step of documenting everything for us to watch! Couldn’t be more proud of you Cornstar! 🥹👏🏼
The trees!!!! Now it's beautiful, like a dessert.
Just watching this video I can reminisce because I’ve watch pretty much all your videos in the years of making… I’ve seen the transformation and growth for you and your brother. You definitely made your mark. You don’t have to explain to your kids your past all they have to do is watch the videos. All worth the hundreds of hours. 💙
Didn't realize how long I've been watching you til this montage. Much of this video was memories for me too.
I was inspired by your progress and started clearing my property 10 months ago. It was never a farm but the previous owner was a slob who chucked his trash into the woods. Many times this summer I kept asking myself, "Why bother?" But it feels good right now to see how much I got done.
Your grandfather would be proud. Hell, I'm proud of you.
An hour long montage, highlighting everything I've watched of yours over the years... And im super excited to watch :D LETS GOOO
Your grandpa is smiling!!! I’m sure of that . This video is over the top . My favorite. It will take something very special to top this one . Keep it brother

I've seen every video for the last 3 plus years and that took some kinda determination.Well done young man.Amazing transformation.
Same here. The transformation has been amazing. I actually started watching due to the cleanup, then stayed to learn farming.
You’ve done a great job Cole, your grandpa would be so proud of you!
From someone raised in a hoarder situation, Thank you! I found this extremely satisfying. Especially Thank you for not making it into 100 separate videos which you could easily have done, I bet each little clip was an eternity in real life. It blessed me to see it start to finish in 1 episode. I could watch this 100 times
Definitely not an eternity, it clearly says 1000 hours. That's 25 weeks or 6 months about. Considering the amount of work they got it done quickly .
such a good, positive message and example Cole!! THANK YOU for the inspiration and for sharing your story, family, and learning-TONS of inspiration and lots of smiles here folks- JUST KEEP MOVING FORWARD
The undertaking was daunting to say the least. Never saw anything so completely destroyed by neglect. And, never saw anything so completely changed by vision, hard work and determination. So darn impressive in every way.
It's not neglect. That is an amazing farm, but if it costs so much money and labor to clean up, you can see why a farmer would park stuff around and just leave it... Imagine if Cole wasn't so smart with the CZcams income? How could he afford the $100, 000 for the clean-up? Cole is lucky to be in a successful farming family that bought land and worked it and survived AND passed it on!!!
Well said
@@almostafarm6394 Farms are a great deal of physical labor. His grandpa just got old.
Older farmers tended to save everything. Every piece of metal could be repurposed one day, every vehicle has spares on it. Then things get overgrown and piled and forgotten. Kind of brave of Cole to make a clean sweep and get rid of everything. I think I may be too sentimental.
Well you get old and you get sick. The only time a farm doesn't look messy is if it's royalty and you can pay crazy amounts for people to keep it looking perfect. Farms will always be messy. There's just too much work for people to do.
People get old and sick. They most likely didn't wanna stress their grandpa out while he was alive so they waited until after to clean.
I remember when you started your CZcams channel I stepped away, and I’ve come back. You have accomplished so much! Be very proud of yourself, and the future.
You should be truly proud of yourself for all that you have accomplished and the way that you have turned that farm and your family name around. Congratulations!! Thanks for taking us along.

I am so glad you documented your journey not only for us to watch in awe, but so that your future generation of kids know that they come from a man that is hardworking, I’m sure hardheaded, and most importantly, not afraid of a challenge! As a teacher, I see kids that think their is no way to change their way of life. This is what my family did/has, that’s all I will ever have too. Good for you and good luck in everything you do. I hope to see all the successes you achieve in life.

I agree!
I love how a farmer’s answer to a lot of things is dig a big hole and bury it.
Multiple holes!!!!!!
a few years, the contractor who is digging the footing for that new building/crib/???? is going to cuss the idiot who buried all that concreat right there.
Dig a big deep hole yourself and bury it? Or, pay someone to take it away? Farmers have learned from a young age that if you want something done or fixed you do it yourself! We call it the No. 8 wire mentality.
The bad part is there will be sinkholes for decades in every one of those spots. As the ground settles over time with rain and snow, it will create voids below that the dirt above will wash down into. Prior generations on our farm have buried things like this (barns, old houses), and we continue to fight settling now. It may take 100 years for that ground to be stable. Makes for a dangerous situation when driving over those spots with heavy equipment too.
I commend Cole and his family for the cleanup, but hate to think of what they will be dealing with in coming years. I predict a video called “There’s a hole in my yard!”
You are an amazing young man!!! I’m sure your grandpa is looking down and is extremely proud of all you’ve done and are planning to do! Never lose focus, you are an inspiration. Best of luck on your future endeavors.

Cole I have followed you throughout all of this. Your family your beautiful wife and now your own child. Your grandpa sees it all and is smiling on you. He knew what he was doing and is cheering you on every step of the way. Grandparents are like that they pray that all the wisdom they gave would resonate for rest of your life I bet every day you hear him just smile and tell him you love him. As we have come to love you as well.

By the picture of your grandpa, I could tell he was from Iowa without ever stepping foot in your state! Homegrown, raised on a farm, meat and potatoes kind of guy. I absolutely adore your channel and I even set up 2 accounts for myself to give you 2 THUMBS UP FOR EVERY VIDEO. Your work ethic is astounding. Your determination to make that farm your own and have it be efficient, safe, clean, and most of all...PROFITABLE! When it's all done, including the house, your grandpa is gonna smile so big from the skies. Cheers from San Diego!
Yeah, my parents lived in Madrid IA for almost 20 years and as soon as I saw the house and corn, it reminded me of Dyersville.
And this is why the world will always need young people and for the older generations to pass the torch to them. You should be proud Cole.
