OK OMG I just checked my tuner on his range on that last note. C#7 to a D8 and my tuner stopped at that point. I think its broke. I feel its higher by one octave. lol
It's a C#7 to D8, yes. 5 seconds with vibrato. Di pulled that outta nowhere while I sound like a dying rat trying to hit D6 lol.

I heard the same comments other musicians reaction of Dimash that he doesn't have to hit that D8 notes. Dimash did it for his fans and they go crazy. It's not about rules , Dimash doesn't believe that. It's about giving his fans to always guess what he can do next. This why he's one and only one so phenomenal rarest singer and amazing stage performer nowaday .
Wolf, in my opinion, even with no musical purpose, Dimash got the right decision to make this D8, went from 5 to 6 octaves, deservedly. He studied, trained for 20 years and still trains for hours, has to show his skills. Leave it saved for what ?? He was so criticized in the past, heard jokes of prejudice about his soprano voice in a singing contest, smiled and thanked him. I saw the video on youtube. When he was studying, they wanted him to train only Baritono's voice. I'm glad Dimash persisted, trained his three voices, because that's what makes him rare, special. His mother said in an interview that when he was younger, well before adolescence, he would cry and say he didn't want to sing, like a girl. When the soprano theater choir did not reach the ideal note in a play, Dimash was called upon to do. However, it does not reveal how many octaves it can reach. I just watched a video of Dimash withdrawing from The World's Greatest singing competition show. I liked him before, but I have HUGE respect for this man now. He has integrity as well as talent! If you watch the video of the two ladies who were in the audience and witnessed the entire scenario (as well as the Kazakh judge), it was VERY MUCH different than what was broadcast. If you know the full story, you can't help but have super-mad respect for Dimash.

Someone tried to explain why he did that in the following manner: just before that note, something failed. Dimash was shaking his microphone but no sound came out. So to make up for it, he offered us another note, just another octave higher. Spur of the moment decision!

He says his high notes are to express his emotions...extreme at that point, yes, but so are the emotions...he built the whistle into this song, you need to look at other performances of 'Unforgettable Day" even long before the singer program..

I don't think he's ever told anyone his actual range, he just flat out refuses 😅 All we have to go on is what we've heard so far. I think we just got "lucky" here, for whatever reason. In this age of the singer/songwriter expressing his opinions through music, when someone says that a person wrote a song, it implies that they wrote the music and lyrics. Dimash didn't write the lyrics - they were written by the poet/lyricist father of one of Dimash's boyhood friends. He is Oral Baisengir, who also wrote the lyrics to "My Swan", which Dimash also sings. There is a Facebook page where he describes Dimash coming over to his house with the music (at 19). Of course, they would have discussed the general theme of the lyrics beforehand.

Great reaction as usual, yes it's unbelievable. When you get around to it and as you like his low voice, listen to Ulisse which is a duet with top soprano Aida Garifullina, where he becomes a powerful bass baritone - mind blowing.

I hope you enjoyed that. For some reason, Dimash gets a great sense of satisfaction from doing the silent whistle. For some reason, it just makes him HAPPY. He's always real happy when it happens. Also, about the people, he knows how very much it means to the fans, when they can go home and say that they actually touched him, or he touched them. I can't help thinking of it as a blessing, and one that people consider well worth having. They do, in a way, worship him. He does NOT hold himself up as divine, or anything like that. He just absolutely loves to make them happy, to make his concert a wonderful experience, and to communicate with them on as personal a level as possible. I know he's aware of how intensely he's loved, and he wants his fans to know that he loves them (us) back, to the extent that one person can love that many people.
By the way, my sister and I both started watching your reactions in the same week, but when we were trying to tell each other about you (by phone) we neither of us could think of your name. Anyway, we enjoy your reactions very much. You make us feel like you guide us in a very kindly way, and we appreciate it.

Actually, he is a phenomenon, a gift from somewhere else. He does D8 because it makes him happy to do it. It's one of his favorite things to do. Perhaps just because he CAN. And also the audience loves it, and loves him when he does it. Yes, helping those people get the shot they wanted, is so typical of his character. Don't you feel just a little pleased that you heard that note? It does please people, and that's part of the reason he does it. Then they can go home and say, "Hey, Guys, I saw Dimash do the Whistle Note!"
I think the whistle part was him getting into the song. I think it's a form of him expressing himself. he so loves the music sometimes he might get carried away with emotion. this is one of my favorite songs. .Love all his folk songs too.

Wolf Rock he doesn’t do that often, he’s done it just few times and that’s exactly because of what you said, to entertain his dears. The thing is that he doesn’t wanna share with us the real high note that he’s able to touch, he said in his interviews it’s a secret and will never be reviled. Well, I also think he doesn’t whistle cause is unnecessary. He prefers to focus on his alien high notes and he does it really well cause we’re blown away every time.
