- A relatively fast paced run on my local trails with the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally project bike that I am working on.
This particular bike, with massive weight savings, and shorter gearing, better fuelling, grippy knobby tyres is nothing like the stock bike in the way it rides.

I test rode the Himalayan, the only thing I missed was low end torque, triumph 400 was way better lower down, I wish Himalayan had a torqueier second gear, the suspension was on point, I was wafting over even nasty bumps. Ergonomically it felt sorted and neither did it feel too heavy for a 5'10" me. Also the throttle response was somehow blunt, I'm used to the sharp throttle response of the 2017 Duke 390, also felt a more than decent amount of vibes on the handlebar.

I just found out that my local bike dealership met with Royal Enfield, and is considering taking them on . I hope it happens, so I can get a ride on a Himi 452!

I feel you should stand more and ride, for better control in the technical sections, and more throttle, just my opinion to be faster.
I was standing throughout. I also tend to hold back for safety. Going flat out is never the intention.

How do you get more confidence in loose soil, went for a trail similar to this today. Apart from the loose soil sections I was feeling confident.

Bike thoda right jaati hai but does it really matter? Kya aap bike haath chorr ke chalaoge? It is smooth enough and extremely stable. Scram chalai nahi to compare nahi kar sakta.

Thodi bahut buzz hai but woh bilkul bhi bother nahi karti. Main abhi ek din mein 700 km chala ke aaya Nepal se. Mujhe to bilkul farak nahi pada.
I really feel RE should bring a twin cylinder in Himalayan maybe 450 twin like CFmoto 450mt.

Put a bigger sprocket. A 500 twin would be really nice if the weight can be kept low.

I don't think it is the engine. My tank cage is slightly loose. Could be that.
😂😅 all RE make weird sounds, especially when the engine heat up. I even bother anymore but when I got my meteor it was like ridding a stitching machine 😂😂.
What's the current wet weight on this? Around 180?
