Be sure to purchase a 200w or greater micro lathe. Less powerful models will give a lot more difficulty when filing and sanding. (There is a voltage adjustment switch on the power pack to boost the power to the lathe). This is where we purchased ours. If you are in the US choose to have it shipped from the US for quick delivery. www.aliexpress...

As a background before i put the super glue on i use black nail polish
Beautiful and great tutorial!! Thank you!! May I ask where you found the crushed stones that size? I’m having a hard time finding the right size. Thanks again!!
I crushed them myself from opal beads
Thank you for this
Great video and thank you for the content. Where did you find the micro lathe? is there a link for that? Thank you in advance and keep up the great videos.
Check the links under the video
Great stuff thanks
Great video and very helpful! Any update on an alternative to the ring stretcher after the MF changed it?
Not that I know of
How possibly this ring stretcher can turn in between the pins?
As you can see, it does.
friction. Same way a 60 degree center turns between centers by mounting in the holes.
@@FlatwearableArtisanJewelry it turns but is enough strong connection you can add much pressure on the ring without mandrel stops while motor keep spinning? I'm asking if this mini lathe chunk can open enough to hold the mandrel normal way. I have order this lathe and I would like to know this till I receive it. Thank you
How did you get the ring stretcher mounted on the lathe? Just bought one of these lathes, trying to make it work for turning wood rings. At 1 minute in, when you talk about the stretcher, I can see that there's something in the chuck of the lathe, but can't tell what.
The centering pin. You can find them by using the link under the video.
Do you know the shank size of the dead center pin? I need to buy a replacement but don't know if it's 1/4 or 3/8
Message me via our website and I'll invoice you for one. www.flatwearable.net
What guideline do you use for when to switch grits of sandpaper other than waiting to use the fine when band has been smoothed?
Sand until you aren't getting a smoother finish, then change to the next grit and keep repeating until you reach the finest grit you have.
I just went to purchase a ring stretcher. They have a bug notification stating that the manufacturer made changes & it will no longer work in the mini lathe. Do you know where else one can be obtained
I wish I did.
Nice
Where did you get the crushed turquoise from? And how fine is it and how many worth?
Amazon
Love the video thank you, where can I purchase your mini pin please
Links for the items in the video are in the description box under the video.
What do you use on the lathe for smaller ring sizes?
The stretchers have changed and are no longer able to work on the mini lathe.
What does a stainless inlay go for these days?
It varies highly depending upon materials used and the skill of the artisan.
