Having said that, this is a really cute little fox cub. The angle of the road looks like that vehicle is about to run right into the camera (and the little pup).
We've got several babies (kits) like this on the reservation where I grew up. So beautiful, and can be tamed with a lot of compassion, and dedication to them. I've got a Red, he's 8 now, and he's my buddy. I've had him since he was a week old. He don't like no one coming around me or my family, but that's how foxes are if you're loyal to them, they're loyal to you and your family till death. That's how it works in the wild animal kingdom. Believe that! Trust is virtue!
The thing about animal loyalty is that nothing is more valuable to them than their pack. You can't tempt an animal to betray its pack, unlike human loyalty which is conditional. Generally, humans will betray their pack if the temptation is strong enough. By betray I don't necessarily mean with violence or such drama, but betrayal in other subtle forms where, when presented with a tempting situation, we act in our own self interest first - at the cost of our core group's interests.
i remember living at this old rent house in the country side. one day i was done taking a afternoon and looked out my window and saw a fox on my driveway near the road. cars passed by and she never moved, aside from changing places to sit. watching a bit more and i notice she had 4 kits playing. it was quite a site. they were there for 3 weeks until they moved out of that culvert and into one of the abandoned buildings we had around

I love foxes, never seen them in real life. I see mostly squirrels, birds, cats, and dogs, some times skunks, raccoons, and deers (where I live, NY State).
As a child, I remember being very scared of thunder - and even a house full of people wasn't enough to make thunder sound less scary to me. For this baby fox left all alone in the wild, I can only imagine how scary that would have sounded :(. Poor baby. Anyway, the good part is she'll soon get used to such sounds and other such man-made stupidities.

If anything, we survive by denying them their own right over this planet - so that would likely makes us a more hated species than any other living creature.
I used to do an early morning delivery job in Edinburgh Scotland.. after a while I started noticing foxes.. I used to share my sandwich with one very small one. But they all looked beautiful. . The highlight of a rather dull job..
In the US we have a differenet idea of foxes. WE view them as cute and harmless. In other parts of the world however they are the exact same as a rat unfortunately. :/
