  • In this video, I will introduce how to make Gluten-free Gyoza pastry. Gyoza is one of the home meals we make here in Japan. However, people buy Gyoza pastry from supermarket since it's reasonable price. Those gyoza pastries are NOT Gluten-free, so I decided to create this recipe. I hope you like this recipe and try it out!

The video itself is wonderful and made special with your little boy featured, but most importantly, thank you so much for sharing this recipe. It is the only gluten-free gyoza wrapper that has not crumbled apart on me! I cook gluten-free often because my boyfriend has a severe gluten allergy. Thank you so much for your recipe! The dough is not only good for gyoza, I even used it for spinach pie and empanadas and it comes out really well. First time I could make a gluten-free dough that doesn't break without using xantan gum or psillium (wich are horrible for my belly). I'm really grateful!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I am gluten sensitive and had to give up so much due to my allergy. I have made these twice now and they are getting better each time. Folding the pleats is still tricky, but I am getting better. You have brought a smile to me and my family with this wrapper recipe. We are very grateful. I will be trying the starch trick as a replacement for xanthan gum in baking. I wish you and your family the very best.

I used a gluten free flour and measured all the ingredients but for some reason the starchy consistency didn't turn into dough when mixed with the flour. Is it possible that it's because my gluten free flour already had the starchy component?

Thank you for trying out my recipe!! I think, if you have gluten free flour, you don’t need to use potato starch! 😊

i made ten wrapper but it burst while i am wrapping it. The wrapper is too thin and easy to break. I made 10 wrapper but I only got 2 not breaking.

Thank you for your comment. In this case, possible reasons are: 1. Type and freshness of rice flour (what kind of rice flour did you use? How was the expiration date?), 2. Time to warm the potato starch and water (the fire is turned off too early). Wasn't it?), 3. Preparations for die cutting (Did you sprinkle extra rice flour on the wooden stick and workbench?). I hope it will be helpful next time!
