I speak Portuguese very well but there's nothing like Biafra in Portuguese word but in Igbo there's (come and see) unlike Nigeria which has meaning in Portuguese ( Nigro.. Black, eria.. Locality or Location or Area, "Nigeria" black Area or location of black people).Simply Biafra was given by Portuguese but its an Igbo word.It was gotten from Igbos who called their brothers to come and see the Portuguese ( Bia furu ndi ocha potogiri) then the Portuguese started calling that Area (present day Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Old Eastern Nigeria) the name... Bight of Biafra in the 16th to 18th Century. Just as Hausa called Igbo nyamiri ( nyem mmiri... Give me water) this was also as a result of Igbos who were trecking from East to North, when they got thirsty ,they entered Hausa house and asked for water ( nyem mmiri.. Give me water)Then the hausas started calling Igbo "Nyemiri". But during the war Ojukwu called all the Biafrans elites and asked suitable name, then an Ijaw man suggested the name Biafra since it was already placed on the map.

Maybe some people are not listening very well, and or they are trying to play dumb. We Igbos have all agreed that we are better off as a homogenous Igbo nation. How others feel about us is there problem not ours. There's no point beefing us because we will go it alone. That small Biafra will be a small independent nation prosperous nation. It's not a nation that will depend on an almost dead commodity like crude oil. For those who think there's in fighting...... Sorry to disappoint you, it won't happen. By the way why do you care. We have never depended on anyone to thrive. It comes natural to us. The less baggage we carry, the better for everyone. Other's are busy hating us, while their real enemies are doing the wiping out. If you're an Ijaw man, i advise you to start thinking about how you will manage without oil in the next 10-20 years. Your creeks waterways, land are desolate. You will sooner than latter realise that oil will be useless 10 years from now. Igbos are not your problem, have never been. Your right to be 'majority' in a new Nigeria, and or your new republic is accepted by Igbo's. There are inherent huge advantages being a homogenous Igbo nation. That u can take to the bank. By the way, Igbo land have enough oil and gas to take care of Igbo land. But you will never hear our people talk about it, simply bcos we are planning for the future. We will thrive, have always thrived oil or no oil.
Let Asari be ranting. He speaks more about Kanu than the plight of his people these days. That's so lame and lazy.

If Kanu want only Igbo Biafra he could have gotten it before now, because the Fulani are willing to let him have it. Now come to the issue of him giving BIAFRA as a Jewish state that is not truth, the issue is that his religion is Jewish, just like you are a Muslim, he only Expresses himself Based on his personal religion. I have never heard him try to suspend others from their right of worship. If you are truly willing to do Biafra I also think that your own method is not working too because you are being unstable.

@@godwinejiofor8064: I believe that you are missing the point. Their problem is, absolutely, has nothing to do with religion. It is a clash of interest, based on jealousy, envy and a quest for self-relevance. When MNK’s father’s Palace was invaded and he started missing, Dokubo was taunting Buhari, saying that Nnamdi Kanu had given him “one blow, seven ‘akpu s’”. Things were going well for them, and even during the first time, that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was in jail, it was revealed that Asari was given some money to train some IPOB members, which he denied, but later admitted, by saying that the money was not even enough. He was saying that others may have started the struggle, but that it was “The Great Mazi”, that catalyzed it. He stated that he would continue to follow him, until he found another person, who is doing it better. When the Mazi surfaced, in Israel and, during his speech, he said, “thanks to my brother, Asari Dokubo, you and I shall see Biafra”. Things were going well. It was after his so-called Senior Brother, Ralph Uwazurike came out, and started attacking the Mazi, that he, suddenly shifted. They are the people that first started criticizing him. You know that his followers will always attach any one that dares to attack him. All there is to it, is envy of jealousy. Again, Dokubo thought that Biafra was, already, at the corner, and then wants to secure his own position, also, as a leader. Unfortunately, this is how he chooses to pursue that. With his utterances, it is clear that he is not fighting for Biafra restoration, but to establish himself as a leader: Saying that Nnamdi Kanu is trying to annex Biafra, for the Igbos alone, is laughable. If so, why is he including all these territories, some of whom are even reluctant? Asari is a joke. If he is for Biafra, what has he done? Whose followers are being killed? Who many times has he ever called up a rallied? He, really, has no followers Is he in control of the Nigerian Deltans or the Avengers, who are busy asking for money, from the Nigerian Government? No way! He was even accused of accepting money and betraying his entire people. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is the man. Look what he has been through and, still going through and, has not relented. How many billions of Dollars and Pound Sterling has he been promised, if he would only denounce Biafra? How many of them would turn down such offers, and take all the torture? These people are a distraction to the struggle and, should go and down.

@@kingsleyopara9075 The story is that since the old Eastern region is now defunct, why do you still re-enact it without, first consulting other ethnic groups that made up the old region? The old Biafra no longer exists and so you can't create another Biafra when the other groups are opposed to it. They want to remain in 🇳🇬 not your Biafra. It's better that the name Biafra be dropped as the present 5 Eastern States can't lay claim to it.

    • @kingsleyopara9075

@@fimsampson6190 The thing we fail to understand is, igbos are not forcing anyone to be Biafra and because the so called elders of today are benefiting from the new created state, they are the ones who do not want to go back to region. The simple way to solve this puzzle is a referendum; That is how you know what the people want and also when you properly sensitization them. Now you made the point that the region no longer exist after the war, was it because we lost the war or was is because we voluntarily agreed for the name to be scrapped? And who scrapped the name off? Was it not the north? And shared us into states in other to create this confusion? Where in the world do you hear the name south south? Why didn't the north name any part north north? Why is it that Nigeria has failed to even recognise that war? Just the way the Jewish holocust as well as Rwanda genocide is remembered? Because they know if this was taught properly in school, this generation of other minority tribes will spit on their fathers grave for betraying their own blood all for oil and gas. And this is still happening today, when everyone knows what is keeping the unity of Nigeria is oil and gas. Please we are educated people, let's not allow this elders that has failed to produce simple electricity for 50 years tell us Nigeria is complicated. What we need is dialogue from the young people between the age of 45 years down to 18years because most of this younger people are doing extraordinary things both abroad and home.

If u study history before colonial era there was not like igbos. the only empires was Benin ,Yoruba and others when the Benin empire fell the were alot of migrations from Benin e.g the urhobo and isokos have similar names and culture to benin ppl. The igbos formed due to migrations of Benin , ijaw igala and some Bantu ppl of Cameroon that's why you see some similarities between igbos Benin, ijaw and igala ppl e.g the beads that igbos use today came from Benin ppl. There was a time i saw a man speaking Igbo but to my surprise it was igala the language sound so similar and they look like igbos.
My point being that in human history we have not been in one place people migrate to different places and mix with each other.
