This is very helpful! Thank you! I made it like yours except I skipped the pocket and the binding.
Such a genius hack. I’ve been looking for a quick way to finish the Mavpack with and without binding for the little people in my life. This is perfect. I know it’s going to be a fun make ❤❤
Excellent video and instructions. Thank you so much for showings the hacks. I have been trying to figure it all out and was becoming quite frustrated. Now I think I can succeed.
Thank you so much!
lovely to see you again!
Thank you!
What a great video! Love your hacks!
I love your hack. I just bought this pattern so I will try your hack to make my first Mav Pack. I also love that you are using a vintage Singer. That makes me want to get my Grandma’s vintage foot pedal singer going again. She taught me how to sew on it when I was very young. Thanks for the awesome video!
Aw, yay! Thank you for the comment! I love my Singer, you will love your grandmas once you get the hang of it! 🥰 They are beautiful and strong!
Ooooh I love your hacks!
Thank you!
I love the design! ❤ Your design shows an amazing amount of skill and care to make those seams, seamless. 🙃
Thank you so much. ❤
Ive been struggling sewing bags on a modern singer domestic i have. But i actually have an old sewing machine similar to yours. Its a montgomery ward version of yours. Never thought to use it, i just had it on a shelf for decor. Now im thinking it might work better for me for bag making. And i didnt even think i could add a walking foot on it 🤔
Thanks for a great tutorial !!
Thanks for watching!
Great tutorial I plan on trying these out and and I just have to say love your machine !
Thank you so much!
Ficou lindo , parabéns.
What do you use for your binding? Thank you so much for the video and all the advice!!
Wow! I love this video, you make it look so simple! Do you think I could use jelly vinyl in place of the Buttah you used? Also, would self adhesive binding work? Thanks so much for a great video!
hi!! What kind of fabric did you use for the strap topper? Loved the tutorial, gonna do it to wear to concerts
Thank you for this awesome tutorial. I have the same singer, and never knew you can attach a modern walking foot. Is there a video of how to do this? Also, do you have issues with your clear vinyl sticking while sewing? Also, what stitch length are you using on this machine? I'm still learning on my vintage Singer. Your bag is so cute!😄 I would love to make these with clear vinyl and wonder if they would be a good seller.
I can make a video soon showing how! Yes, regular walking foot. Nope, I didn’t have issues w sticking but I think the walking foot helps w that for sure! I use the longest stitch length my machine has. It’s probably comparable to like a 3.5 or so, but I use longest for construction and topstitch. Thanks for the compliment on the bag and for watching!
What size you cut your webbing for the d ring and for the strap and the yellow part for the back part what size you cut them
Great tutorial! Thanks for posting. Will definitely try out your hacks! Can you tell me if that walking foot works well with your machine and where I could purchase one? I have seen that there are a couple versions with different part #s, but don’t know enough as to which one would work on my 15-91. Thanks again!
I use my walking foot on literally like every bag I make. I love it so much! I just got mine on Amazon, just a regular walking foot. You can get them at Joann or most sewing places.
This is what mine was called on Amazon “SINGER | Even Feed Walking Presser Foot”
Thanks for the video, great job. Could you please send me a link to the binding you use? I have a hard time figuring out what size or type of binding is good.
I used 1/2 inch double fold bias tape. I can get a link and post in a bit. ❤
@@ThatsSewJules that would be great
@@ThatsSewJules Were you able to find the link?
What singer is this and what walking foot did u use please
Curious what materials you have sewn (for bags) with your vintage machine? I'm working on hubby's grandmother's 1952 Singer 15-91 now. Rewire, rebuilding motor, etc. Very excited!!!
Every bag I make I make on my Singer! They are so strong! I’ve sewn with cotton canvas, cotton woven, vinyls, faux leather, clear tpu vinyl. I use a walking foot on mine unless I need a zipper foot, and the walking foot helps with bulk. And a denim needle if you’re using thicker material, like vinyl.
@@ThatsSewJules awesome, thank you so much!! Very exciting!
This is just a question, is the webbing 1.5 inches? Was confused as the pattern lists 1 inch d ring and 1 inch swivel clasps. Thank you!
I used 1 inch webbing. I believe original pattern does use 1.5 but I didn’t have any hardware on hand for that so just used what I had. 😊
What is the name of the tweezers
Hemostats
I can’t believe you are sewing the vinyl on your singer. I purchased a heavier machine just to sew these but I can’t the top thread is just all on the bottom. I am using a Teflon foot and loosen my tension still not working. Any suggestions. I do have your pattern It works fine on the faux leather just not on the design clear vinyl. Need help
Try increasing your top tension. I have a Juki tl18 and had to go to a 4 on my tension. Good luck hope it helps
