oh my god... why i just found out about this music video? I hear almost all of Westlife's songs but rarely watch their music videos, this is their best music video after "Flying Without Wings" in my opinion! how can this music video only get 5.5 million views? it should get more than that. I just know westlife is a boyband with the best voice, the best song, the best instrument, but this music video really left me speechless. Beautiful underrated song--the lead singer who sings the chorus (who is it.shane?)has something in his voice that pulls at your heart. i don't give a fuck if people say 'oh but it's a boy band'.It's what the song makes you feel. This song deserves credit.

Enrick J Mallare cool. I'm not a huge fan of westlife, but i love this song and a couple of others. Plus, they're irish and i'm half irish, so more reason to like this song. lol Kian still looks amazing for his age, he does the voice show for Ireland now.

Safe is a song in which it should never be forgotten because its lyrics deal with a delicate subject for our society that and empathy towards the other and its video only comes to reinforce the importance of looking more solidarity towards the other, be it a friend, a family member etc. And what the world needs and unfortunately is lacking, empathy and solidarity.
Shane is a great singer. Those hoarse vocals and vabrato is top class.

I was at their finale tour at the O2 (London) on my 21st birthday May 12 2012. I travelled all the way from Canada just so I could see them perform for the last time. I remember crying intensely when they sang this song. Love you, Westlife and thank you for everything. Waiting for the reunion tour.

This makes me think of my dog, I have a dog a few years ago and now he has pasted away, but his name was Bruno and he was a fairly small boxer. I remember sometimes I would cry when I was sad, so he would walk over to me and lick my face, then I'd stop crying and laugh, he cheered me up and I loved that.... I miss you Bruno..... you will always be remembered in my heart forever:)

I was in Ireland in 2012 with my husband. We loved Ireland, saw lots but not nearly all. We always planned to return, but my husband died in July 2020. I discovered Westlife not long before he died. I found, comfort, beauty, happiness, and hope in their music. It is my plan to return to Ireland, Britain, Scotland and other European countries, in 2024. We lived in Germany from 1957 to 1959 and did get to Britain and some of Scotland, but travel was limited, on a soldiers pay.
I would love to catch a concert while I am there, so would love to know when and where they will be holding concerts over the next few years. These four young men are funny, talented, sing with heart, and genuinely present as loving what they do. Family is clearly import, they love to perform for their fans, but getting home safely is obviously a priority. I wish them well and hope they continue to sing for us. Thanks, Elaine

I think this video and the song are so important. The lyrics perfectly illustrate the actions and can be understood without the visual representations, and the video can be understood without the song. The video shows people the many ways they can be a hero and keep someone 'safe', it's all the little things- standing up for someone, helping an injured person, listening to someone who's going through something, even just being there for a family member. They're all acts of heroism and this video captures that perfectly, and if you think about the demographics for Westlife's audience, they are quite young, so these ideas are being presented to a young audience who will grow up with this sort of representation.
The lyrics can be aimed at one person, or lots of people, depending on who needs to hear it. It's such an amazing and important song that more people should know.
