Ive been doing this exact thing for years, down to saying "don't think" in my head over and over, without knowing this is a legit technique lol. I just figured out over a lifetime of difficulty falling asleep that this combination of things sometimes helps.Too bad it still doesnt work the majority of the time for me 😅 one of my biggest breakthroughs I've had towards falling asleep that isn't explicitly stated in this video is DONT MOVE. Not even slightly, not even to scratch an itch or reposition. Moving will ruin everything and reset any progress towards falling asleep that you had made. As for how I learned about the other parts of this sleep technique; relaxing muscle groups from head to toe is something we did in Yoga in highschool and then we would "meditate" (half the kids fell asleep) and I found that I usually started to feel sleepy from this too, though I could never fall asleep at school. I learned to take slow deep breaths with large amounts of time between breaths because of waking up many times in the night and observing that this is how my breathing naturally was when sleeping. And finally I learned to repeat "don't think" in my head out of frustration when memories of something embarassing or infuriating from 12 years ago kept popping into my head and spiking my heart rate 😊
I didn't know that my sleep style is actually a military sleep method 😂 that's literally me everytime I can't sleep...I just relaxing my body to the point I feel really comfy and cozy...
I’ve heard this before and was hyper skeptical but I tried it and now I found out it works almost perfectly!! Im almost never super tired because I get 8-10 hours of sleep every night. 10/10 would recommend
Another way is mastering control of your heart rate. I was at work once and i keps fogging up my safety glasses with my breath so i thought. Ill just calm my breathing more. Got it down to very very small slow breaths... my whole body relaxed and i felt great. And legit blacked out till my face hit the control panel of the machine i was running.
I just naturally fall asleep within 1-2 minutes. I'm not sure if this is because I am extra tired or extra lazy. I just try not to nap the entire day. So the moment I reach my bed and lie down, I instantly start falling asleep.
I appreciated that you explained that it will take you roughly two minutes to fall asleep once you've mastered the technique which can take up to six weeks. I feel like most videos would have called this a fail since it took you over two minutes to fall asleep.

And then I realized that I had already learned this lesson in childhood! I had a sleep study done and when I woke up the Dr. asked if I slept and I said Yes, he asked if I dreamed and I said Yes. Then he told me No, you didn't. According to my brain waves I was awake the entire time! I had been playing in my head, I thought those were dreams and I was sleeping but nope.

Destroy your body and mind so hard, that you fall asleep without even realising it...
😂 extreme relaxation destroys you???
@@crustyflatonion9595 No, I am talking about working so hard, that you fall asleep automatically, at your body's natural call instead of your own wish.
@@vedantpatel5985 ah, you meant to actually destroy yourself. Yeah, not everybody can physically do that; and there are plenty of hard workers that have trouble falling asleep.. it's not as easy as it is for you.
I did that

I can fall asleep in under three minutes while listening to any audiobook. Not every night, but nine out of ten. This is my special superpower.

The legendary hack:"just open your maths book before going to bed"💀
I found this out about a week ago and now I use it and I'm never tired to wake up in the morning for school it works perfectly 😅
Finally I Desperately Need Sleep 💀💀

Instead of saying dont think i like to "think" about the sounds im hearing. It just clears my mind.
literally saying 'don't think' is the best advice i've ever gotten to sl-
Sometimes if I have trouble sleeping I just think to myself “I can’t sleep, my brain keeps thinking stuff” and I do the exact opposite of what I say.
Will try u never no what works for some works for others
Another way is mastering control of your heart rate.
I was at work once and i keps fogging up my safety glasses with my breath so i thought. Ill just calm my breathing more. Got it down to very very small slow breaths... my whole body relaxed and i felt great. And legit blacked out till my face hit the control panel of the machine i was running.
Nice edits bro 👍
I needed this
I just naturally fall asleep within 1-2 minutes. I'm not sure if this is because I am extra tired or extra lazy. I just try not to nap the entire day. So the moment I reach my bed and lie down, I instantly start falling asleep.
As someone whose brain never stops and saying “Don't think” only makes me think more, this will definitely won't work for me.

I appreciated that you explained that it will take you roughly two minutes to fall asleep once you've mastered the technique which can take up to six weeks. I feel like most videos would have called this a fail since it took you over two minutes to fall asleep.
The worst part of this is, if your unlucky it instead just gives you self induced sleep paralysis.
