      Same I used to sleep at 10:00-11:00pm for school and wake up at 8:00am and even on weekends SAME schedule not a alarm nothing just repeatedly doing it I try now but it’s like it’s completely ruined I will keep on trying my best tho :(
      now I sleep at 2:00-4:00am and wake up about 12:00-1:00 pm and I’m obsessed with getting 10hrs of sleep if I don’t and I wake up a hour earlier I’ll go back to sleep honestly idk how to control it anymore xD

      Hayo1706 the blue light of cellphones get interpreted by your brain as “daylight” and thus reduces the production of “Melatonin” (which is the chemical that tells you to go to sleep).

      @@MichaelOrtega A recent study actually revealed that the blue light filter didn't have any effect. This was tested on mice though so idk ;/

      Hayo1706 well it’s not the fact that it’s just “blue” it’s the light in general too. But unless they test it on humans properly, we don’t know for sure. But one thing is true, any activity before bed will make you less tired. If you get in the Habit of laying down at the same exact time of day, your biological rhythms will follow and you will be more likely to be tired enough to fall as sleep if you don’t break the timing cycle and don’t do anything before bed that could spike your brain activity.

    This seems like a good video to start with on my new routine I’ve been thinking of I was also thinking of having a special smoothie about 45 minutes before bed this is what the smoothie would have in it: 1. Milk 2. Yogurt 3. Strawberries 4. Bananas 5. Dark chocolate (just a little bit) and 6. Honey. I found all of these things as stuff that will help you sleep and I thought it would be good to try

      All this food in your stomach will keep your digestive system busy while you wat to put your body to sleep. Why would you do this? A lot of fructose (sugar=sugar) gives you direct energy.

    I used to suffer from panic attacks multiple times a day. It affected my ability to fall asleep most nights. I eventually made a full recovery from my panic attacks but struggled with pretty bad insomnia. I would try so hard to fall asleep. Just laying there with my eyes closed for hours. Eventually, I came up with a way to observe my thoughts while trying to sleep the same way I learned to observe my thoughts and feelings during a panic attack. Worked great and never had a problem falling asleep again. Now, I do a mix of that along with a mindset of not trying to fall asleep at all. I don’t care about the time, if my mind starts racing, etc. it just doesn’t matter. With this approach, I can fall asleep in what feels like an instant. Anyways, hope this helps someone or at least gets you to think about a different approach.

    Four years late but I found this video, and I'm gonna try some of the stuff I've seen just outta interest. (hope that didn't sound insulting).
    I wanted to add something that I find useful when trying to close my mind off to the outside world and I learnt while trying meditation techniques, you may find it useful too.
    When closing your mind off and trying not to think of anything at all, which is difficult, I try the controlled slow breathing stuff and concentrate on the breathing, and to help me do this I say to my self "in" and "out" while I am breathing in and out at the same time, making sure that I am saying these words just as slowly as I am breathing the word. It takes a bit of practise to get use to it, but you know what they sat, practise makes perfect.
    I hope this can help you out next time you are trying to get to sleep and need to close your thoughts off.

    Certain sounds make me sleepy, like the swishing of a top loading washing machine, the cat purring, or, the ticking of a mechanical timer (I have one wired up to my TV to turn the sound back on after a set period of time). Even if I leave the TV on, the sounds of an old movie with car chases or shootouts will make me sleepy if they are not too loud. There were some clock radios in the 1980s (Sony Dream Machine??) that gradually lowered the volume at night to make it easier to fall asleep; I've seen some iHome models in recent years that also have that feature.

    I’m the type of person that falls asleep really quick most nights and love a really warm bed. So your number one sounds crazy to me.

      It's the same with me. I usually even sleep fine in heat waves, whereas a cold room can keep me awake for hours. Also: screens have absolutely zero effect on my sleep.

    Try a yoga nidra recording on CZcams. It uses the same relaxation technique as the last tip. But it takes you out your own mind listening to someone else. Helps me sometimes.

    one time i was hot so i slept with my fan on. got the best night sleep i'd had in years. so i started sleeping with my fan on every night. now i can't sleep without it. even in winter. sometimes i'll wake up freezing in the middle of january but i'll still keep my fan on. not only does the cold help me to sleep but the noise also does too
