One thing I wish all reviewers would mention when judging seats, seating position, legroom, etc - is how tall they are and if they have long legs/short torso or variants of that. I'm 6' 2" tall and have long legs which means most vehicles don't have enough leg room for me and I have a harder time than most people getting my legs in and out of the vehicle.
On the other hand you might have someone 5' tall who has trouble seeing over the dash when driving/parking, same for getting in and out the large EV9.
When Kyle and his father sat in the driver's seat of his dad's Ioniq 5 Kyle said he had trouble with the steering wheel blocking his view of the dash while his taller father had no trouble with it.
So, I think if you really want to do in-depth reviews of a car I'm sure many viewers would like it if you gathered from your group of friends and family, even someone off the street, someone as big as Kyle's dad and someone 5' tall or close to it. Make mention if they have long legs or longer torso or are average build type. It's a major reason people might choose one vehicle over another.

On my Taycan, i leave the sport sound on bc I like it. It sounds funnily futuristic and i like to have the audio feedback to the throttle to give me a sense of speed. We are looking at the EV9 for my wife later this year and I highly doubt she’d even touch that feature, but I probably would when i would drive it.

Lane centering without adaptive cruise control is good when you need to adjust controls, navigation, phone (yes, you aren’t supposed to be looking at your phone while driving), changing glasses to say sun glasses, grabbing something (coffee, drink), etc. That’s what I use it for as a quick aid.

U clearly are not the target market for this car, families with kids are…
    1. U don’t want ur kids to be messing with the sunroof cover, they intentionally put that only up front!
    2. The rear seats are not made for 6’ tall adults but kids
This car is a minivan in function, disguised as an suv.
Oh and the r1s legroom is even worse, you really failed to provide context on that point. I agree it’s slightly different market buyer than r1s but it is similar comparison for only 7 passenger BE SUV.

@@steveallwine1443 I agree, love Out of Spec, but it’s obvious no one on their staff has a big family (other than some that claim dogs as kids); perspective of large families matters when it comes to reviewing 7 passenger large vehicles in America. Doesn’t make sense to give the review to an employee who doesn’t have that perspective

External fake electronic noises have a good use: when creeping around silently in a parking lot looking to park or leave, it alerts idiots walking around the same parking lot with their faces buried in their iPhones not realizing an EV is right behind them or can get hit by a car they don't hear, I use my electric sport sound on my Taycan for that exact purpose, not to show off.
This is something a lot of EV reviewers never really discuss or explore when it comes to fake electronic sounds

Note: The rear seats are collapsable by controls on each outer side of the seat. The red pulls are for rear seat passengers only. You would not pull the red strap while standing outside of the vehicle as done in this video. Not sure if the host undestood that or is familar with most manual automobile seat functions.

anyway, I think EV9 is great. The word luxury is usually attached to a "brand". Even if the Range Rover is "luxury" brand, its a crap expensive vehicles. Lets look at all these EV9 features, heated steering, heated seats from front to 2nd row passengers, power seats on 4 , memory seats, 360 panoramic blind spot, HDA2 active cruise control, all these safety features you mostly get from 100k cars, remote parking assist, ambient lights, fingerprint profiler, digital keys, etc. etc. Those are luxury features that are mostly add ons on top of the 100k cars and most of these are standards on mid to high trims. You are getting premium/lux level to a great price.
Add to the Kia makes very unique cars that's nothing like on the road. Unlike some cars that looks the same.

Since your channel loves to do tests on cars I have a suggestion for a test (if you haven't already done one and I missed it somehow, I'm somewhat new to the channel). For vehicles like this Kia where you have a tire fix kit I'd like to see a comparison of how long and how easy it is to fix a flast using the kit vs changing a tire. I'll even make it easy and say you can do it in a parking lot and not on sand, mud, on a slope, or in the rain, cold or heat.

I would love that EV9 vs equally priced Telluride comparison. I think it would do good views (and you could give it a nice click bait title too like are EVs worth the extra money?).
I just have a feeling the Telluride would win for most people. My wife and I were considering an EV9 but it's hard to stomach the huge price difference. Even with incentives and factoring in the fuel and maintenance savings it would take several years to break even. Though if the comparably priced EV9 has features and quality over the Telluride that don't show up in a spec sheet maybe it's worth it?

26:40 as a parent of 4 kids I currently have a 3 row ICE suv and a minivan. I do think that I would consider an EV for our next vehicle, but it would need to be comparable in size and comfort to my ICE vehicles. The options for 3 row EVs right now kind of suck. Either it is super tiny seats- Model Y, or like $100k and that is about twice as much as I would want to ever pay for a car.

Glass windows in the roof are fine if you live in a temperate climate, but I live where it's 100+ for over 3 months of Summer and into the teens, with snow and ice, in the Winter. They'd be a definite 'no' if I lived anywhere with a history of larger size hail. A sloped windshield might survive but a nice big panel of glass on the roof might not fair as well.
I lived in SoCal and loved the moonroof on my Acura but on hot days you could feel the heat coming through the sliding panel. Living in the desert I can't think of a worse feature to have. A sliding panel might mitigate cold seeping through though.

The Teslas and Rivians of the world still have decent demand, as well as luxury automakers like BMW, Benz, and even Cadillac to a certain extent. Kia is dealing with a very steep uphill climb with this car; and increasing incentives are imminent. Be patient, but not that patient, 2-3 months max these cars will be 10-15k off sticker price….

Interesting vehicle, however at the asking price and currently without incentives, I think these will be slow movers. Also, nothing against you young guys reviewing this SUV, but I think it would be very helpful to have people (target customers, particularly the soccer mom/dads/families) drive these vehicles and provide their feedback. They want to know very practical things like how do car seats or booster seats fit along side each other. People that buy SUV's are typically growing families with multiple children, and very active lifestyles. This is why vehicles like the Ford Explorer and Kia Telluride are so popular. Growing families need these things to haul the carpool to school, driving back and forth to sports practices, etc. More active families will use them to haul the boat to the lake, haul a motorcycle trailer or even tow a travel trailer. For this price range, much like the electric trucks, when you really use and SUV to haul a full load of passengers/cargo over longer distances, the range become abysmal thereby diminishing the real utility of these vehicles. Don't get me wrong, I am not trying to bash EV SUV/Trucks, but at this price, it makes more sense to purchase larger more rugged ICE vehicle like an Tahoe/Yukon/Suburban. Just my .02. Keep up the great work!

I went and test drove the EV6 and it felt like a toy. And they were trying to charge over $50,000 for it. It was not a luxury car at all. So all in all I couldn't see myself in a Kia. If I cannot get at least 250 mi wow driving on the freeway with my air conditioner on, it's not worth the investment. Those range calculations are nowhere near what you will actually get.

Kia boys have made the Kia the most stolen vehicle in Chicago. Good luck with your insurance rates on certain models. Kia has a reputation to overcome

Insurance doesn't work that way, It's only the older generations that have the issues, not the brand as whole. I picked up a 2023 EV6 GT recently and insurance was way cheaper than my other cars which was crazy because it's practically a super car.

Doing an indicated 60+ mph, while passing signs that say 30 mph? (~25 mins in) Seems like enough video evidence for some jurisdictions to send a traffic ticket…
