It's kinda how back in the day, people would spread creepypastas like smile.jpeg after they fell victim themselves. Domekano is unapologetically trashy, to the point that it's shockingly entertaining. And in the same vein, the thought of recommending the show to someone unsuspecting is as equally entertaining. And I think that's why garnt has that look of menacing enjoyment as he's trying to sell this shitshow to other people, because I'm the same. Got scarred by this mfker of a show, and I dragged my cousin down with me. She got hooked and finished the manga as well. Now we're just looking for other innocent people to recommend it to. Lol

He did the same thing to me lmao. Only thing is I never found the "peace" with the ending that he did. To this day I despise the last 10 chapters of the manga so much and it's made that series one of the most bittersweet experiences in my life. I love so much of the series, but for the life of me I can't stand the ending. I would kill to see another romance hit the emotional beats and have as much relationship building as Domestic Girlfriend did. And actually do it with a good ending. I've had this hole in my heart for years and I still haven't found a good replacement lol.

Dude, I was like "f... this this!" After the I read the final chapter. Domestic Girlfriend was not great, but I enjoyed the character writing in it. It was the real hook in the manga at that point. The ending destroyed that bad, and it pulled the worse logic to do it.

The best thing about Domestic Girlfriend is that the female love interests actually have character development unlike the usual romance anime where they just reject the MC until the ending where they admit they like him and kiss for the first time LOL.
the thing I enjoyed most was revealing how posessive the sisters both were and how they coped with lust. This was probably the deepest aspect of the story people overlook over the obvious step sister student teacher fucking, and having them under one roof makes the tension even better imo

Being 100% honest I actually don't think it's that crazy to say Domestic Girlfriend is good😂. I mean minus the ending, it has very good character writing between each character & how they navigate growing up or figuring out their feelings. I genuinely think theres a lot the story has to offer & it really grips you throughout. But definitely insane premise and situations😂but inbetween the craziness I think are hints of brilliance.
Jupp totally agree the ride was great, the ending however.....the ending....oh boy. Don't think I ever saw people unanimously hate an ending just like this one. She really managed to piss of both sides. Ngl she should've just went the polygamy route. At that point he has swapped between them so much anyways that it wouldn't have made a difference.
@hermaeusmora424 I was team rui admittedly so for me everything right up till the coma was pretty much the ending i was onboard with. I liked Hina too so that wouldve sucked to see her not win but wouldve been a good exploration for what she did afterwards. Polygamy route was definitely better than how that ending went down😭. Maybe just copium but had hina even won under just normal circumstances that still wouldve even been better than what actually happened. Whatever, What can you do. Still enjoyed my time with it lol

I will say this. To be honest. After the first season worth of chapters the manga is actually incredibly sweet while remaining serious enough to make the sad moments truly hit. I highly recommend reading the manga

For real they all need to give DomeKano a chance, the manga is great! It's not even a guilty pleasure for me, I unironically enjoy it. And more than the romance, I really loved the stories about the main character's writing career, it actually inspired me to think differently about my own writing.
For real, Natsuo's writing career and how he deals with it while simultaneously dealing with his relationships is the best thing in the manga for me. It's not just one of those romance stories where it seems nothing happens outside the romance itself. And seeing how Natsuo evolved and became a better person, I didn't like him at all at firstly, was such a good ride and was worth the read by itself.
This is better than your daily unlimited isekai season no more manga gives this kind of plot and originality... Manga deserves more credits

What makes Domestic Girl Friend is the skillful writing of Kei Sasuga and her ability to craft likeble characters in ludicrous situations.
Domekano has a beautiful opening, wonderful art, and a top tier voice acting performance. It's almost too good
Domestic Girlfriend has a good start. Mid story is even better. Then it turns into a latinoamerican telenovela, and the story finish with one of the most surreal endings ever conceived.
As a whole, it is really dissapointing.

Domestic na kanojo was the most impactful manga I've ever read. The anime adaptation did it so much justice, but it ended too soon. I laughed out loud, balled my eyes out, and really embraced the plot. It's helped me get over an ex and afterwards i haven't gotten back into any anime

The Manga for this anime was phoenominal. I literally was on the edge while reading it. Plot as uneasy and cringe but I cant stop reading a lot of mixed emotions :))
The manga is amazing ! and yes it is cringe, but some of the storys were incredible.. the old man going up the mountain had me in tears
The chapters in the Domestic Girlfriend manga after season 1 (about chapter 70 if I recall) actually get rid of most of the sex stuff and focus on the MC writing dream and a more wholesome relationship. The end really throws so much of the good out the window but the middle of the manga series is legitimately solid.

And the story pushed me in a good track, it basically made me feel more human

Honestly Garnt made it sound a lot worse than it is.
Outside of the sexual tension with the sisters, the best thing about this manga is that it shows a decent depiction of the ups and downs of a person after high school. Going to college, making new friends, relationship drama when you have different dreams you want to follow. The writer is actually super talented, and while the manga always falls into soap opera drama eventually, there are stories in there that are really captivating that don't really involve tons of sex or spicy stuff.
That ending still gives me the shivers.

It's so funny reading the first few chapters of Domestic Girlfriend, because it opens with kind of an interesting concept: kid has a crush that he knows isn't going to go anywhere and ends up experimenting with someone he doesn't have feelings for, just to try and know what adulthood is like. Then the MIGHTIEST of coincidences happens, but fair enough, nobody could have seen that coming, so nobody is at fault. But from that point forward, the only thing driving the plot is that every character makes the MOST UNHINGED decisions possible at every turn.

I started watching it simply because the opening. Kept watching because it’s awesome.
The thing with domestic girlfriend is, yes the setting sounds really trashy, but if you stick with it the main cast undergoes a real character developement and you follow the characters growing from high school to becoming full fleshed adults while finding their path in life and chasing the dream.
Later on Domestic na Kanojo becomes a really endearing story albeit it still has it's fair share of Drama.
So all I wanted to say was, Domestic Girlfriend is peak anime! Garnt I'm with you!

What did they say to stop you from watching? I personally actually got a friend of mine to see it. And he liked it so much that I went all in one day. And he's not even that into watching anime. I think he only watched Classic Naruto in his life, haha.

When reading the manga down to the engagement and wedding prep. I was really relieved because i was really rooting for rui as the end game but after what happened to hina, it took me by shock and somehow kinda broke down coz i know the situation will eventually falls down to guilt and eventually giving way coz rui's character was always the the type of person who really feels guilty easily and always gives way for her sis.
I wish they had at the end of Garnt explaining said:
"But against all odds, there is one thing everyone universally likes about that anime: *The opening is lit as F%$K!!* "
