In the fall of 1991, Disney began filming in the Twin Cities what would become the first of three Mighty Ducks movies.
Thirty years later, the franchise is getting a reboot as The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, a series scheduled to begin on March 26th on the Disney Plus streaming service.

It was a touching scene during D2 final showdown where Charlie willing to stepdown to give way for Adam Banks during the final round. After they won, Adam gave the flag to Charlie to honor his sacrifice and I almost cried during that scene.
Did you almost cry when he was pimping out his mom in the first movie to get more playing time? Haha

I saw a lot of movies as a kid in the 80's/90's but I've never seen an entire movie theater crowd cheer like crazy when the Ducks won the Gold against Iceland in D2...We didn't even have hockey teams in our area but they went insane after every goal.

The first episode was amazing. They had a 37 year old man crying, laughing... it had all the emotions!

@@lauriefaithprescott I decided to look him up on IMDB and was surprised to find out he will also come back as the same character in the reboot/sequel series. I thought only Emilio was coming back and would focus on him coaching new kids of the next generation, but I guess Vincent is coming back to.
@@lauriefaithprescott I'm not sure. I do not think he's active as an actor to really know about his personal life. Yeah, he's in his early 40's, but he doesn't look like it.

When I was a kid, my cousins and I used to pretend to be the mighty ducks. Everyone always wanted to be Charlie, but I gladly called dibs on Adam Banks. So I understand that little kid’s excitement.

Dad took me to Minnesota where he grew up. All I wanted to go to was Mickey’s Diner and Mall of America. Still have my Mickey’s diner mug. Never letting that go 👍🏼
I lived in MN all my life until late last year, and I went to the mall of a American several times a year

Danny Tamborelli is the Nickelodeon of my childhood 🤗 It’s so weird to see him as a grown-ass man!
I was 12 at the time and my middle school sent out a flyer for students who wanted to be part of the crowd for the movie. I remember paying $5 for the bus to take us the the arrowhead Pond of anaheim where the real mighty ducks played. It was the best field trip ever. They didn't have enough fans in the stadium so they put fake cardboard fans instead. For lunch they gave all the students free little caesars pizza and a drink. It was a great experience and movie 🍿🎥
Any younger people who haven't seen these movies, go watch em. They definitely still hold up as great sport movies. "The Mighty Ducks" and "D2" (the sequel) are both really good. D3 is ehhh. But first two are worth watching, for sure!

I met Adam Banks in LA in 2010 when he was selling wine. He was not in the talking about the Mighty Ducks but it was definitely my fault because out of reflux and nervousness I called him cake eater.
Lots of love goes out to Goldberg who struggled with drugs. He should have been apart of this. He was a huge part of both movies as the goalie. 🥺
Tomorrow we get see Banks, Akerman, Connie, Kenny Wu, Fulton and 1 more on Game Changers!

So I seen the new series on Disney plus the Mighty Ducks I really do like this new writing there's a lot more questions that I hope will be answered as we watched more episodes very excited for the series has promising writing and I hope that this Underdog Story becomes more open and more more true to today's youth and I'm very excited to see what is to come

I remember when Tammy Duncan (Jane Plank) isn't agree to join the Ducks but in the finals against the Hawks, she uses her figure skating skills to bluff the Hawks and beat the goalie when she get the pass from his brother Tommy (Danny Tambellini)
Tammy: Mom isn't gonna like this at all!
Tommy: So what ? You want me to figure skating, then you gotta play hockey!
Tammy: What do I know about hockey?
(She knock down Tommy and skate away)

It says on the AFi catalogue that filming started on 22nd January 1992 so not 30 years just yet

My dad played in a beer league every Sunday night at Parade Ice Gardens foe 20 years. They filmed the championship scene in the first movie there.
