‘Mrs. Doubtfire’ Cast Reunites After 25 Years - Watch Extended Interview | TODAY
It hurts not to see Robin Williams sitting there with them.
Yes yes it’s sad not to see him there along with Sally Fields
please don't make me cry, i'm still getting used to the idea that he's gone.
Sally field 2
💔💔💔😭😭😭 he is so missed.
Definitely! He was such a special human being.
Man, if Robin Williams was still alive, he would’ve loved being there.
@Carrie Leslie He had Lewy Body Disease, actually and a few other things too that in the long run absolutely destroyed his brain. He couldn't remember things, it made him very paranoid and very depressed, it controlled him entirely. He would have never died if it wasn't for that, he himself was not in control. His poor brain was. The doctors that did his autopsy were astounded at how bad it had gotten, it was by far one of the worst cases any of them had ever seen. He was not well, he was not himself in his final days.
I know you mean it in a nice and friendly way but stop talking about what they would or wouldn't do when they are dead.
You don't know.
Maybe he Was there in spirit💕
@Carrie Leslie If he could've been there, he would've. He had one of the most severe cases of LBD, Doctors were astounded that he was still able to walk, talk and function properly considering how bad it was. He suffered from paranoia, insomnia, depression, confusion and so much more. There was almost not one neuron that wasn't affected or damaged.
He didn't make that choice. The disease did.
He could have surprised them dressed up as Mrs Doubtfire and sneak behind Pierce Brosnan and shout "Help Is On The Way!!! while giving Pierce a bear hug 😆
I admire Pierce for doing this interview. It looks like Sally could not make it but I think Pierce is a class act and I think he is honoring Robin Williams by taking the time to show up and respect the younger members of the cast. Good for him!
Only Robin couldn't make it.
Yes I am sure Pierce had commitments too but he made the time for this and very much admire that!
I would have loved to see Sally there and of course Robin. But this is great! Pierce and the then children.
Yeah, even more so since its character in Mrs. Doubtfire was a minor one and many people don’t even remember he was in it as he wasn’t that famous back then (it was before his time as James Bond started). But Pierce is a great person too - in addition to being agreat actor - in that way, always super humble and respectful.
I’m glad she wasn’t there she is so annoying she probably turn the thing about her
Pierce Brosnan being rendered speechless when being asked to describe Robin William in words says more than any words could
I hollered!!!! Because he was a deer 🦌 in headlights
❤
Describe Robin @14:30
One of my favorite Robin movies. "You accent is off." "So is your tan" lol
IIRC, it was
“Your accent seems a bit muddled.”
“Oh, so does your tan.”
I thought he said ur tongue
Robin and Sally are not there. Where is sally field at for this?
Get it right. It was, "Your accent is a bit muddled?" "Oh, really? Well so is your tan." There!!
''L'accento lo ha un tantino perduto'' ''Come lei la sua tintarella''
“But if there's love, dear... those are the ties that bind, and you'll have a family in your heart, forever. All my love to you, poppet, you're going to be all right... bye-bye.”
Why you trying to make us ugly cry? lol
I just cried... ugh
+Sadie Cherish I always loved that part :)
You just had to post that up didn't you?
Thank you! :D
Sadie Cherish I read it in his voice😭
Pierce is such a genuine humble guy. You can tell that he genuinely misses Robin.
He is really a great guy. I am here in Calabasas California. He lives here in nearby Malibu. I have seen him many, many times at the Vintage Market and at the Malibu Country Mart going on near 25 years. I have seen him so much that he nods hello to me. Spoke to him 3 times. He always initiated light conversation. He noticed my Omega Seamaster, and I confided to him that I bought it after seeing Goldeneye and that it was the 1st and only time I did an in-store credit. He said, "Nothing wrong with that, you just had to have it; well done!" He then showed me his. A vintage Seamaster, and we took a photo. This was in 07. Great guy!
Oh Robin. I love how this is an interview all about William’s performance. Its a timeless movie.
“Don’t worry poppet. You’re going to be alright.”
Iconic film...I cannot hear Dude Looks Like A Lady without replaying the entire Mrs. Doubtfire scene in my head! LOVE this movie!
Same here only at first I use to think the lyrics were "you look like a lady"
Lets not forget "luck be a lady tonight"
Yess me too haha!
Same here
Yes, me neither..
Each and every single time "Dude Looks like a Lady" gets to that one part in specific I ALWAYS have to put my middle finger up just the way Robin Williams does at Pierce Brosnan.
"The prettiest smiles hide the deepest secrets. The brightest eyes have cried the most tears. The kindest hearts have felt the most pain.”
When I think of Robin Williams
Who wrote this powerful quote? I’m so curious
Idk, but it is quite beautiful!!!❤️
She said, "Daddy?" at the dinner scene. That little look on her face, too. Then the, "Yeah honey, it's me." That was beautiful.
well, guess irs better than seeing her pee with the seat lifted up! surprise. what about those peeping tom Asian twins
I love how down to earth Pierce Brosnan is. When he talks about paying the mortgage and taking care of his children. I love celebrities that treating acting as just a “job” and are not swept up in the fame of it all
Bond!
He’s very Irish I have to say. (Obviously it’s not just down to that but I think it’s a good bit of his nature, such a lovely man).
That's Why He Was Chosen As James Bond Bcause He Is Down 2 Earth And So Cool
Definitely a class act. I respect him even more after watching this.
That final scene is flawless! The father taking his children for a walk, the divorced parents getting along and mrs doubtfire explaining that times were difficult but it was going to be okay!
That part always makes me tear up
The original ending had Daniel moving back in and the 2 working on the marriage.
Absolutely, I still get choked up…I was 11 with divorcing parents when that happened and I needed that part so badly. Even today.
@@loveislove-le5nj
Actually the original ending that was scrapped at the very last second showed Stu moving in with the mom and mrs doubtfire moving in with the old bus driver; I think the bus driver and doubtfire ended up adopting all three kids and the mom and stu had three new babies;
@@loveislove-le5njRobin and Sally did not want to leave children of divorced parents left with false hope. The ending they chose was the better route.
When Matthew said, “both Robin, and Pierce” and you see Brosnan’s face...so sweet. He needed that.
Lol.
That was classy for Matthew to include Pierce in his example of male role models.
Pierce is an amazing man.
Also he's Irish, born and bred!
Rest in Peace- to the beautiful soul of Robin, forever in our hearts.
I’ll always remember the way Robin Williams would smile with tears in his eyes. Such a genuinely precious human being. I love that they got together to celebrate his life and the way they spoke of him so highly and respectful.
I will miss Robin til I die at old age. He helped this foster kid in the 90s thru some bad times. His movies made an impact on that lil boy.
Me too brother..me too. :,(
One of the greatest comedy movies of all time. I watch it whenever it's on.
Me too a timeless film watched it multiple times but it will always make me laugh and also warm my heart at the ending
Matthew and Lisa are 40 now. Now I feel old. 😂
Kayleigh Ryan Matthew is not 40 yet.
Yeah
Wait Matthew is 40 next year 2020. By god
My dream has come true. I thought this day would never come to pass. 25 years of praying day and night and I finally get my Mrs. Doubtfire reunion!!;!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That story that Lisa told about Robin writing a letter to the principal is so sweet. He was and forever will be remembered as a sweet and kind man. I do have to say that he definitely took on the Papa Bear seriously both in the movie and behind the scenes! R.I.P. Mr. Williams.
I heard he was very generous with many costars, as a father himself he really connected with child actors even more so I heard. Bobcat Goldthwait, his best pal, said that he did him a number of favors over the years!
Mrs. Doubtfire is one of those movies you can watch multiple times and it never gets old. Every time I see it on, I watch it. Such a great cast of wonderful people/actors. I know Robin was there in spirit.
I watched it today on channel four in the U.K. Must be the 100th time easily since the mid 90s that I've watched it ... Film is an absolute classic will be watched by new generations in an hundred years
@@zumizm1 yeah I brought the dvd so I can watch that classic whenever I want robin really was special
Classic comedy alreadt
"The healing power of laughter." The last time I was in a psychiatric hospital we watched Mrs. Doubtfire. Pierce Brosnan was right on the money.
When it came to Robin, he was in a league of his own, when it came to talent. No one else could touch him.
Facts bro! 100% agree.
They speak so highly of Robin Williams 😭 😭 ❤️ and makes me love him even more I miss him so much 😭 😭 ❤️
Jimmy Mackster I agree.. he was so talented, there will never be another like him ❤️
Omg Lisa’s story about Robin writing a letter to her HS principal is beautiful 😭 I love that man so much
And the way the school had the audacity to frame his letter but nevertheless reject Lisa from attending; it just points to what the majority of schools & colleges do----prizing fame and funding over the welfare of its students. Robin truly cared about ppl, and Lisa's story was a wonderful example of that. I'm so glad she shared.
@@djm4854 The school were awful. Luckily Lisa has overcome it and had a good education.
It’s so crazy seeing Mara all grown up. I grew up with her basically through her movies. We’re only two years apart so it’s crazy!
Matilda is so timeless
She isn't acting anymore. She was so cute
@@heidevoglis9178 She was adorable in Mrs. Doubtfire. "Are you wearing bugthpray?" When my sister was about the same age as Mara, my family kept saying that Jen looked so much as little Mara.
@@heidevoglis9178she does voice acting
Wow what an emotional interview. One moment I’m laughing, then my eyes start tearing up the next. I still haven’t been able to watch Mrs Doubtfire since Robin Williams passed away.
Can you imagine how Robin would just absolutely hijack this interview?
Dressed as mrs doubtfire in a wheelchair
I love Pierce Brosnan so much. He just reminds me of a friendly Dad 🥰 This reunion is so wonderful
Yeah and his lovely Irish accent calms me, it would be an honour to meet him one day I’m sure I would be star truck!
@@therunawaykid6523same here
Robin Williams to me will always be the most extraordinary human beings to ever exist in this lifetime. So glad I was able to grow up watching him.
So wonderful to see all the children together as adults, speaking so eloquently, and amazingly about their performance together!
Robin Williams will always be missed!
Yeah this makes me so happy seeing this as Mrs doubtfire is one of any all time favourite films, crazy to think that the woman in the red outfit here who was a teenager in this film was in Mrs doubtfire and another of my favourite films Independence Day!
Mrs. Doubtfire could have been just a totally over-the-top slapstick comedy, if not for Robin William's tremendous wit and ability to improvise. The pool scene where Bronson encourages MD to join them swimming, and she tells him whaling had been outlawed, was hysterical, and I'm sure one of many hilarious adlibs the director could choose from.
He called him a wicked, wicked man. 🤣
They’ve all aged incredibly well.
Love Pierce Brosnan, such a down to earth person.
This guy is an awesome interviewer, I really liked that he didn't interrupt the panel and allowed their stories to flow. Gosh, those kids have grown into mature adults. Thank you, I thoroughly enjoyed the whole interview 😀
plus he used no notes!!!!
Pierce Brosnan never ages I see, still handsome.
He looks younger then what he is
Pierce Bronson is the epitome of class !!! One can just read what a real deal he is 👍
Aging like fine wine
Agreed 😊
I thought the same thing. He looks exactly the same
It still sucks that robin is gone... I wish the world could have him back. He was literally the best
I never personally knew Robin Williams, but he was such a huge part of my childhood. More so than I realize. This interview made me tear up several times.
So nice to see the kids with Stu. I recognized every kid immediately. They were so awesome in this movie as a supporting cast. Pierce was great in the movie. I think him being there is a true honor to Robin Williams.
"the drive by fruiting is out there as a giffy"
LOL Pierce Brosnan is such a dad
Funniest movie. This is pure gold. Thank you for sharing. RIP Robin
Agree. This and dumb and.dumber

This was my first "grown up" movie as kid. RIP Robin
Matthew is such a polite nice guy
My favorite Robin Williams movie. So nice to see how the kids turned out. Pierce Brosnan is such a class act. As much as I like Daniel Craig's Bond, I miss Brosnan's Bond.
Always makes me smile that my mum says she wasn’t really a fan of robin Williams films but she really loved robin as mrs doubtfire shows how amazing he played the character
"we're his goddam kids too"!!
love, love that line.
More like, "we're hith goth tham kidths thooh" HAHAHA
Yaakov Salomon 😂
😂
"Kids, they say the darned-est things."
The look on Pierce's face at 14:34 made me well up. How DO you describe someone so larger than life? He was a fleeting gift to humanity. I have idolized that man since before I can remember. As early as 4 years old I was wearing my Mork suspenders everywhere with pride. I don't think I'll ever properly fathom the impact he had on me and countless others.
heatherelf77 I have an embarrassing picture with Mork suspenders and shirt and toy egg with figure
Hah that is fantastic!!!
That's awesome. Too bad we didn't go to the same school. I would have loved to have seen it. I remember watching Mork and Mindy reruns on KCOP 13 as a little boy too. Good times.
So much truth
Lol.
After 25 years they still look the same, it was heartwarming & very gentle when they spoke highly of Robin Williams makes me love him even more including Sally field & Chris Columbus. The movie was not only funny, heartfelt & realistic all together makes me wanna watch it over and over again.
This movie will always have a special place in my heart. You can tell they all genuinely miss Robin, especially Pierce. He left a mark on their soul. Some people should never die. Robin Williams was one of them. He was so uniquely talented, he can never be replaced.
Just to test my memory lets see how many robin Williams films I can think of: Mrs doubtfire, good morning Vietnam, toys, good will hunting, flubber, Aladdin, dead poets society, patch adams, hook,
This movie will FOREVER top the list of my favorite movies❤️
Mine too! I love that they did this. Have you seen all the deleted scenes from the movies? It was like almost watching a sequel.
Mine too, I still enjoy watching it.
@@susan1215 They should make a gender swap reboot of Mrs Doubtfire. In that movie the actress should take up the disguise of an old man as the central theme. With a good prosthetic makeup and a nice story it will be a big hit. Please share your thoughts on the same and the actress you believe can play this role.
@@sayantanmukherjee784 sounds interesting but at the same time imo Mrs doubtfire is untouchable and I guess I would always compare it to that classic - but I like the idea of it being an old man instead of a woman 🤔🤔
I love how Pierce isn’t fake about any of this. He’s very real about his relationship or lack there, following the film, with Robin. The others though. I love how pierce made it a point to ask if they kept in touch and Mara went on about how she only bumped into him ONCE. And how Lisa goes on and on about how hugely he impacted her. And maybe he did, but I hate when people try to make it seem like they are special by being so “close” with someone who passed away. Speaking about them like they actually KNEW him.
It’s why I appreciate Pierce. He only spoke of when they filmed but was also honest about not knowing him well. Thanks for being real Pierce 👏🏽
The comment may be a bit unfair. The three were still kids/young adults when they filmed Mrs Doubtfire, and undoubtedly had more time with him on set. Those are formative years for them, and somebody who makes an impression on them sticks. Pierce was an adult by then, and he made James Bond films, so Mrs. Doubtfire may not be the highlight of his career. It most likely is for the other three, so let them appreciate what it meant for them. Everyone has a different relationship/story, it is not a competition.
Totally get it. I was speaking more in general about people and what I’ve seen people do when someone passes. I did get that feeling with them as well, but I also stated that maybe what they said was true. I don’t know. But I was more pointing out how people glorify someone who passes, even when they hardly know them. Just something I’ve personally come across way too many times.
Here's a question? How do their answers affect your life and personal growth? You seem quite displeased.
Miguel Pacheco none of any of it has an affect on my life at all. It was an observation I made that I’ve personally seen happen many times. I could be right, I could also be wrong. I hope my opinion doesn’t have a huge impact on anyone’s life either. Just stating what I felt.
@@TigerLily0384 i just thought it was interesting that you felt the need to share on that particular part of the interview. Have a blessed Day. Namaste ✌
This film has stuck with me since childhood. Growing up in the bay area and having divorced parents AND a dad who looks a bit like Robin Williams...it's hard not to return to it and feel like a kid again.
I know how you feel. I have a uncle who looks precisely like Robin Williams's true story. He is my daddy twin. But my my daddy looks just like Ed O'Neal it's shocking 😭🥰
INTERVIEWER: It's been 25 years since you last saw each other. When did you last see each other?
PIERCE BROSNAN: 25 years ago.
That wasn't really the interviewers question, he said it's been 25 years since they last sat at a table together, not last saw each other.
@@ry.the.stunner well, the interview should've asked his question more clearly then. People aren't mind readers. So, Pierce just answered the question the interviewer asked.
