This is great! I’m finally abandoning IG this year, focusing on TT and YT and loving it!! I’m growing faster in TikTok with the strategy you mentioned. I actually start there, capture the comments and then use that as a reversal for my YT videos.

Love this. I told myself 2023 it's time to get out of my head and genuinely own my knowledge, provide help, and SHOW UP. Also repurposing. Whether I take key words and turn them into a carousel, or snippets of be talking as a voice over etc. Now it's just time to actually apply it!

Thank you for these tips! I've been ramping up my focus on TikTok the last 6 months or so. I'm an indie author so I'm talking about my books, the genre I write in (fantasy), and giving writing tips and such.
I’ve been making TikToks for a while now and this is def the mentality that made me pop off. I’m an artist but try to make more useful & interesting process videos, art instagram critiques, and peeks into my artist journey.
I think people who don’t really use TikTok but are trying to make content are most commonly missing the mark. Spend some time in the app and learn the culture and you’ll find where you can fit into the scene! Just like CZcams ;) loved this vid and all of your stuff!

Katie - when you first said "youtube strategy," I immediately thought of your vlog/storytelling video! LOVE this idea! I have a quick question (not sure if you read comments!) - I want to use TikTok to grow my podcast audience. We have a TON of content that I could pull from (8 years of podcasting!). I understand the best strategy is to make the TikTok more stand alone information but do you think there's any point in the video where I could/should say "find out more in Episode XXX of the Sorta Awesome podcast!" THANK YOU so much for your instructional videos. I have learned so much from you in the past few years!
Thanks for the guidance! I just started posting more frequently to Tiktok myself & interestingly, your strategy confirmed what I've found to be true in my videos as well! Seems viewers enjoy educational content/tutorials over relatable content in my niche of gut health.

I am definitely looking to use TikTok and YT more this year. This video is rather timely for me. My primary content focus will be on financial literacy but I would like to also post lifestyle content. I’ve seen the recommendation to only have one topic focus and that’s the main thing that’s kept me from taking either platform seriously
Thank you! I’ve seen people say we should edit our videos IN tiktok rather than use outside editing tools. Have you noticed a difference with this? Apparently tiktok will recognize more edits/clips versus one video uploaded and edited from elsewhere

I feel like it’s SO much harder to gain followers on TikTok now than a year or more ago. It seems a little harder to go viral or get views, but it feels like people don’t follow as quickly now.
I almost feel like the fyp does creators a disservice because viewers don’t follow if they know the videos will pop up anyway.
I’ve had videos at 1, 2,3 million and only 2k followers 😅 just had another 1.5mil TT yesterday and it gave me my biggest growth of followers-- but only 200 🥴 I feel like it should be a lot more!
People want the follows but they don't want to follow others. Like I noticed people may have 13k followers and they only following a 200 people... Everyone thinks they are celebrities there 🤣🤣😭
Interesting point about adding the text overlays and captions on a video editing software. Is tiktok able to pick up text for its SEO that isn't typed in platform?

I feel like I’ve had this strategy but maybe I gotta change things up. I make lifestyle, fashion, and self love/wellness content on tik tok and I feel like my growth as been like a slow incline since last year. I noticed this too on TikTok when one of my videos went viral because i added the extra effort! That was actually what inspired me to create on youtube. I make sustainability videos in Spanish and have 38k followers but currently struggle to convert that audience into ig or CZcams following

Years of not putting much effort into it because whenever I do I can't get over 200 views. My likes to views ratios (or comments/shares/etc) is pretty good but it's like everything is locked at 200 exactly with tiktok. The only video that got more was when a friend with 42k followers commented (too bad they don't use tt anymore). But really trying this year to put more effort into video content.

Why TikTok and not Shorts?
Love this strategy! I use premiere pro to edit however when I upload my videos from my phone, the colour is skewed. I colour correct it but it’s just not the same. Any tips on recovering true colour from phone videos on premiere pro? Thank you!
ooh good question - do you film with an iphone! because premiere pro and iphone footage does not like to play nice together unfortunately (though there are hacks and work arounds!)

Try using Capcut. Capcut is what I recently switched to it's user-friendly and I can edit right on my phone. I think it's for beginners tho, so I am not sure where you're at in your journey.
