I love how real you've been here, when I had my first couple videos go viral I got so much hate and I couldn't stop thinking about it for months. I stopped caring entirely about all of the positive comments and feedback and only took in all of the negativity. I've had to learn to completely ignore it and its SO hard, and I don't even have nearly as many followers as some people.. the tiktok comment section is the wild wild west

I really appreciate your candor about the TikTok hate comments.. from what I have seen, when people go viral on social media, it seems like they ultimately get something that, in hindsight, then may have not wanted after all. I guess that comes with fame in general...

Great video! I was searching for like a case study on posting consistently to TikTok and this is exactly what I was looking for. I can definitely relate to the box that CZcams puts you in once they categorize you to a topic. TikTok is actually the platform I'm looking to use to draw an audience for those other subtopics that YT doesn't give me as much love for. Also looking into Pinterest.. Thanks for sharing this video and your experience Millie. I had an audio go viral on tiktok and my voice got made fun of SO MUCH and it was really overwhelming and hard. I had a bunch of anxiety and was surprised how awful I felt, even though it was supposed to just be silly and light. It's a really horrible reality of tiktok, which seems to be rampant with hate and unchecked comments. It made my heart hurt even more when I saw videos where young vulnerable kids and teens got this kind of hate. I've had the app deleted for a while, and now with work have to create an account on behalf of my company and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous. It's disappointing that to be successful in social media you have to just accept that huge amounts of hate and criticism will follow.
I also think your comment about TikTok sharing the videos to everyone, I'd be more inclined to say it shows the video to someone who would LOVE to HATE it. So still in the realm of showing the "right" people from a performance point of view. Which is fairly rude of the algorithm I might say haha.

It was really interesting to see your progress throughout the challenge. I don't have a TikTok because let's be honest, I'm "old", and with so much responsibility between my day job, volunteer job, kids, blog, creating content for IG, the thought of adding another platform to worry about just seemed like too much. BUT as always, you've convinced me to explore and add another thing to my to-do list. 🤣 You're right that I should be posting my Reels to TikTok...so that's my homework for this week. And I'm sorry for all the hate, even if we're immune most of the time, that's no fun. *hugs*

Oh my gosh Laura I totally relate to this comment!! Instagram had been feeling overwhelming to me and I just wanted somewhere else where there were no expectations for "how I showed up". TikTok is amazing and I LOVE my new community over there. The haters are scary but remembering your "why" will get you through!

I can tell you are excellent at what you do! First let me say, haters are totally irrelevant..PERIOD. Walk On by those negative Nellies. Replying with something like "Thank you for sharing. Have a blessed day" works well. It leaves you feeling good by not engaging with their negativity. In most cases, it short circuits their vitriol. Thank you for being so vulnerable about the hate comments. I have some controversial content that I know will go viral and start an important conversation in my niche. I want to talk about it, I have a strong perspective I want to share. But I will get hate comments, and I'm just scared that it'll break me. I always thought seasoned influencers must have a thicker skin or have magic powers to not care, and it's honestly so encouraging to see that isn't always the case. People are people all the world around.
Also your hair down at the end of the video is so fire.
I’ve been really curious about call to actions and links. It SEEMS like a call to action isn’t really there on most tik toks, it’s more about generating curiousity and letting it naturally happen, where other platforms call to action is so important.

My question to you is, is it possible to run a business, wear all the different hats; marketing, IT, administration plus your actual service you are providing to your customers PLUS being able to make enough content to post everyday? I've been on it for a year and gained 1700 an counting. I always get a bit discouraged when I see others doing it for a shorter amount of time. I seem to get motivated as well, considering I'm genuinely happy when I see others succeed. Not to mention I'm doing what I enjoy so I'm only in competition with myself. Hopefully I break through the barrier now that I'm studying and improving as much as possible.
