Wow great info! Thanks
Good information, as usual. Many thanks!
I like your take on volume, how it's not fixed. One (of many) mistakes I've made as a master's lifter is trying to keep volume very low and intensity high all the time. (intensity dependent/volume sensitive). Think I read sections of Barbell Rx too literally...
Hey Andy, what do you think about the Greg nuckol's advice of switching at a 3x8 --> 5x10 progression when getting stuck in the LP instead of reset the weight of 10%?
Hey Andy had a couple of questions.
Well first of I am a novice and follow Beyond 531. So for me to perfect my lifts I stick to more volume. The option of first set last in that program works very well for me. For me volume work is typically 5-6 sets of 4-6 reps. Do you think that is enough for a novice or should I tweak it a bit.
And then according to you what is the ideal frequency for training the lifts. I train all the lifts twice a week ojce as the main movement and another as volume. Do you think its enough for a novice trainee.
Then are assistance exercises important. For me I focus on the main lifts and then probably do a couple sets of some light dumbell work because I am not fond of assistance work. Do you think that suffices.
Lastly if you are a powerlifter how long should your workout last. Mine are over in 50-60 mins. I see some guys go for 2 hours. Whats your opinion
What. Do l. Do. After. Long. Lavoff

Simple answer NOOOOOOOO
