Cult Of Personality is a tour de force. Every member of Living Colour is a tremendous musician-Calhoun, Skillings, Glover and Reid. Part of the timelessness of the song is the nearly absurdly long guitar solo that spans the history of rock and roll in about a minute and innumerable finger adjustments.
Of course lyrically it will always remain relevant.

Mike, I love your set up. So freaking cool. When I do large items that need to be cainer like this, I like to shoot a laser level across the room, then take two pieces of plywood and make an upside down tea where I strike a line where the laser is at the highest point. Then I can just place the block anywhere I need and I can get everything leveled up.

GREAT video with tips. Great for anyone with a cabinet level saw. I have a similar setup. I first started using the Excalibur sliding attachment maybe 25 years ago. I had it attached to a PM 66 for years, then added a Uni to it. But a couple years ago I replaced the 66 with an older Oliver (quite a bit heavier saw, running a 14" blade) I did most of the adjustments that you made, (though not the dust collection as the Oliver base is all cast iron and does have a decent dust port, but still table saws are not the best for dust collection) but I didn't adjust the table with the blade at a 45! That is pretty good tip there. I'm now going to play with that. thanks.

Great content, non-vomitous! If I had dust collection AND a massive Board Room, I'd do something similar. For my 2.5-car garage/shop, I'd have to set my saws back to back... which would prevent me from giving into the temptation to saw something with BOTH saws at the same time. Also, the childish tray is a stellar idea, tbh.

have to say that having used that slider in the past and owning a full size slider there is no comparison, that being said it depends on what you're doing, I mostly cabinets so I am cutting full sheets all the time. but I do have a PM66 as well that is mostly used for hardwoods and normally has. a rip blade on it. Funny you mentioned NASA, I just bought a jointer that it turns out was originally made and sold to NASA, I thought that was pretty cool!

    • @MikeFarrington

If you are building cabinets with 4x8 sheets, yes a full sized slider is the better bet. However, I have a CNC machine, so when I have a job with more than a couple sheets, thats my go to. So that really puts the slider in no mans land. Hence this experiment.

Great song recommendation, that song played everyday on the radio in the machine shop. I worked at in high school that 45° alignment. If that is out, could that be why anytime I have cut a 45° bevel it has never been accurate? I use a Beall tilt box. Note, not a pro, total amateur.

There are lots of reasons for a saw to not cut great. That could fix your problem, at a minimum it will eliminate a variable.

3 table saws could lead to some great economy of production.
I'm a tad jelly, with only a dewalt contractor saw to work with.
When can I come over and build stuff? (Asked from Alberta. ;-) )

I thought Excalibur was long out of business. Is your slider new old stock?

Yes, This was a back of the garage find, still new in box. This thing is probably 15 years old, maybe more.

Cutting a hole in a vintage Unisaw's cabinet is kinda like declawing a cat. I wouldn't do it, but if you were to adopt a cat that had been declawed I wouldn't complain.

Gotta be honest, that slider addon looks terrible to use, if I was you I would have looked for a smaller panel saw, I found a 1994 SCM (1.6m cut capacity) for cheap and works oh so well and takes very little space in comparison to say your large panel saw

Thank you. I have used an SCMI si12 with a 5 foot slider. Yes, totally great saw, but not what I was going for here. So far I have enjoyed using this attachment.

I saw the caption and wondered, "How did he become the Colossus of Clout?!"🙄
Then I saw he had two full power table saws on one continuous Unifence rail!!😳
Men will avert their gaze when the Colossus walks into the locker room...🫣

Hi Mike, how did you get your Unisaw top to look so damn buttery smooth and pretty? I remember you said you found the saw under 3” of dust, so wasn’t it full of surface rust too? It looks immaculate. I got a PM65 last year and there’s still some slight pitting on mine that leaves me wanting. Did you get it resurfaced?

    • @MikeFarrington

I used a palm sander and green scrub pads and a lot of work. Check out the video, I show the products I used and how I did it. The video does not show how much time I put into it.
