Bernie is the Best I've ever heard/seen. He gives the weather in detailed narration and has a tremendous talent to animate what's coming. There's nothing else I can add except...stupendous! (Handsome guy, too)
Thanks, Bernie. Looking at the long range pattern, I think it will be possible for a winter storm for eastern virginia late january and februrary. we shall see. but, I definitely think we will have at least 1 winter storm in eastern virginia this winter.

Every winter storm that has been predicted to hit Chicago has always moved elsewhere or never even developed. We haven’t had an accurate winter storm prediction since 2021.
I will be surprised if Chicago gets more than one inch of snow Tuesday.

Bernie you need to look at some of the models from 78 to 79 about this time of year. There was the same weather pattern and dropped 3 feet of snow in southern Il and all the way up into New York

Great observation: That panhandle in Texas wounding up into the Midwest could be packed with snow and lake effect for Chicago and Great lakes area.
We are about 35 SW of Chicago. I think I'd better get groceries before then!

Looks like as usual I95 major cities get crap or the famous at the beginning of the week big snow but by end we are forecasted to get nothing.
Oh well, nothing changes. Already waiting for Phillies to open Spring training. Bernie I have to say you are so upbeat and give precise forecast.
Seems like everything is missing us to the west. Although the one that will finally hit us Tuesday will be all rain in Philly area. Oh well. Still wondering if we’ll even break the snow drought on Sat/Sun.

Classic Panhandle Hooker storm. As a 60-yr old Chicagoan, if I see the center of that low moving up from Springfield, IL into NW Indiana, I get the wet snow shovel ready and eat a hearty breakfast!
For some reason the temperatures are getting warmer and warmer for the Tuesday storm both major models (GFS and Euro) are trending to mainly Rain for Chicago
Our best shot for a good blizzard is next Friday the 12th

Guys, this is my fault. I bought a plane ticket out of Chicago on Southwest, the gods are punishing all of us for my hubris. Sorry about that.
Unfortunitly for the central u.s. we will not be getting much s ow tuesday due to temps above freezing for most of the storm. 2nd storm for the weekend is probably on the other side of the hemisphere and we wont know jack diddly until a day or two before the storm. I hope you are right about the snow but thats a rather far fetched forcast.
For New Years they were saying we'd be getting rain, yet nothing ever happened, just scattered clouds. Since November there's been false promises for rain.

The Mississippi river could use some good snow though, so as the melted ice comes down it, the river line that comes between Missouri and Illinois can go back up. There's a ferry that's still closed.

Im in South Central Wisconsin and have been hoping for a few day snowstorm or blizzard for a few years now. Not a knock-out, electricity blizzard, but a nice to look at from inside blizzard. Finally, they might be able to open the snowmobile trails.
Ohio is the most boring state to live in weather wise. Wouldn't recommend it unless you enjoy bitter cold dry air during the winter and miserably hot and humid air during the summer.
