It is always challenging if we are not feeling up to snuff with drawing, but I encourage my students (who are mostly retirees) to just get started every day with line work and they will see how things improve, just as you showed here. What I notice most significantly is that my handwriting looks like that of a much younger person since I started doing Zentangle every day.
