Great video, it's so interesting to see the difference in mindset from a comp player and sim player. I try incorporate both play styles in my game play.

You should have to make a playbook with completely random formations and plays. So close your eyes and go through the different formations until you are in a random formation and then scroll down and move around until you find a random play. First test them in practice until you make a touchdown with that play, or change it, and then add it into the playbook and play a game with it.
For example: You might get the dagger play or one of the team specific plays and then have to try and score with it.

I mean, they had this in the 2000s plus 60+ more features and better gameplay. So it’s not a new addition
Definitely like them too! It’s small tweaks like that that make the game feel real! Now, I just wish they’d bring back mini training camps by in Franchise mode.

Hey man! Another thing that i have picked up is that if you are running a run play and you double team the DT (or edge if it’s an outside run) the blocks are much better
2 and a half minutes in and he already found out how to break the coverage

One thing I do is marry all my plays. If it’s I-Form tight and I have a run going left, I’ll pick a similar looking play action pass or regular pass. It really make a difference in game and I slow sim
The middle line backer always runs with the inside stream it doesn’t work for me

Yo spruce, question. I pre ordered all madden edition on like July 12th and in the Microsoft store it says I don’t own madden 23 all madden edition (even though I had a receipt for like $85) is it just like a visual glitch?
Hey man! I had this same issue. Turns out you have to go to your games library and then scroll down to "All Games" and it should be in there
Someone help me out… is it me but the custom playbooks don’t actually show when you pick it online like last year. I’ll put my playbook and all of a sudden my plays aren’t showing up
Shallow X Dig is like one of my go to plays for short yardage but now with the adjustment oh boy am I gonna have fun in madden this year 😂 BTW Shallow X Dig, Inside Zone, RPO bubble, PA Shot Post. The best scheme to run outta there. I started madden 22 late but Madden 23 I will be top 100

On the first play, how do I save it so the motion for the wide reciever doesn't reset everytime it finishes? Do I have to select him andmotion him at the start every time? I am new to madden thx.
Hey man! What exactly do you mean by reset? Also, yes unless a play has built-in auto motion (which isn't that common), you have to select them and motion them manually every time
@@SpruceGooseTV Thx man, with reset , I just mean when the play is over and the players all go back to thier position. So basically we justt gotta remember the exact setup and make it all happen before the snap. Thank you.

On the first 2-3 plays if you take your TE and streak him and hit your inside wr that in crossing the field you will get a TD 80% of the time.
Hey Spruce and everyone else, last Madden I played was 20 and I'm having some trouble with 23. On 20 when you held both triggers, that was how you used to QB slide and showboat. But now it brings up this weird blue menu that blocks my screen. It also happens on defense when I'm strafing and then I hit right trigger to speed boost. Is this a new feature for 23? Is there a way for me to disable this menu from coming up?
What does the menu look like? Right trigger is still speed boost and there shouldn't be any weird menus coming up. Also for QB slide, now you tap X. To showboat I believe it's hold both triggers and A but it changes every year lol
@@SpruceGooseTV it looks like some sort of chat menu. I think I found it at the very bottom of the settings, I believe it's called "quick menu" and I disabled it. Very annoying!

Thing is these should work but you have to get the perfect blocking which won’t happen in ranked gameplay with QB contains on. I’m loving what I see because you can scheme guys open . These plays aren’t broken, it’s really just good schemes.
It’s absolutely broken. Calling the ‘right’ play doesn’t always work, and it shouldn’t. That doesn’t even take into account the pass rush.

Gun Trips TE :) Lol but honestly we're all still learning the new game, if you're coming from current gen then spend some time in practice mode getting used to the slower movement and worse zones because the game handles in a fundamentally different way.

The game is significantly different every year, honestly it's never just an updated roster. Most of the changes they made to the gameplay are good, I just think they need to improve o-line blocking logic and then the game will be in a really good spot

Knowledge gap is a big part of skill gap. Knowing what works and doesn't work separates good players from bad players.
This is the problem with madden. It doesn’t take long for someone to find a one play touchdown then everyone spams the same play and it’s not even football at that point
