Very nice & informative. Question: Why 1/4" & not 1/2"? Thx!

How did you cut the inside handle on the "jug" template and final plywood piece?

What plywood were you using? Thank you

I use 1/4" MDF for all my templates on the router. If its just a template to trace a cut out or shape I use 1/8" MDF

Hello and thanks for the video. I tried the same technique, but I often get kickback and one piece even has been thrown out of my hands towards the wall (thankfully). Any idea on what am I doing wrong?

Make sure you are cutting with the grain, look at the direction the blade is spinning. Before I cut any piece I plan it out and look at the areas I will run into issues (if I will be cutting into end grain) also you want to be putting in a direction the blade will be cutting into the wood, you will find if you go from the wrong direction the direction the wood is being feed into the blade is spinning the same direction, this is wrong. Hope that helps alittle.

Better to use a spiral flush trim bit. A straight trim bit will do that. Check them out over at bitsbits

That's actually a Flush Trim bit, not a Pattern bit. A Pattern bit has the bearing on the shaft side.

    Use gloves!

You don't want to use gloves with spinning motors like this.

Never ever use gloves while routing.
