Kelantan is a state of Malaysia. The capital is Kota Bharu and royal seat is Kubang Kerian. The honorific name of the state is Darul Naim ("The Blissful Abode").
Kelantan is located in the north-eastern corner of the peninsula. Kelantan, which is said to translate as the "Land of Lightning" (see alternate theories below), is an agrarian state with green paddy fields, rustic fishing villages and casuarina-lined beaches. Kelantan is home to some of the most ancient archaeological discoveries in Malaysia, including several prehistoric aboriginal settlements.
Kelantan cuisine is influenced quite a bit by the cuisine of Thailand and it’s popular among people from Malaysia. A lot of the visitors which Kelantan receives come to the area in order to taste its recipes, which are not available in other areas. One of the things which their kitchen is based on is sugar and the result is that most dishes from the area are sweet.
Another thing about it is the fact that it uses a lot of coconut milk, more than any other cuisine from Malaysia. Their curries are creamy and rich and their taste is based on the Thai cuisine.
Below are some of the incredible food that I have tried:
Nasi tumpang is rice dish that origin from Kelantan. Nasi tumpang is rice with different layer of dishes wrapped in a cone shape with banana leaf packed. Traditionally, it was staple food for travelers or farmers in Kelantan to bring to work. It is packed tightly consisting an omelette, beef or fish floss, and shrimp or fish local curry, sweet sambal gravy and cucumbers.
Akok is one of the famous traditional food in Kelantan, Malaysia. It can be eaten as snack or as a dessert. It is made with flour, sugar, eggs, and coconut milk.
Nasi dagang is a Malaysian dish consisting of rice steamed in coconut milk, fish curry and extra ingredients such as pickled cucumber and carrots. It is a well-known breakfast food in the states on the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, southern Thai Malay provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat and across the Indonesian border in Natuna and Anambas, Riau Islands. The most famous nasi dagang comes from Tumpat in Kelantan and Kampung Ladang in Kuala Terengganu.

the kelantan malay culture is very much linked to the champa people of south vietnam. both kelantan and its former sister state patani which is now south thailand's provinces of patani, naratiwat and yala, are very much linked to the champa people of south vietnam.

you have visited 13 states. the 14th, wilayah persekutuan is not yet visited until you visit kl, putrajaya and labuan! labuan is quite an interesting place, it was a state of its own (under the british empire, part of the straits settlements of singapore, melaka, penang and labuan), then became part of sabah after ww2, and finally became part of wilayah persekutuan on 1 feb 1984.
