Hell, I have unfollowed people that don’t support 🇺🇦. I am tolerant to other views, however, the choice is a good against evil. I think it is evil to support what Putin and most Russians have done. The future of all of us will be determined in Ukraine! No more “peace in our time” crap. It’s pure evil.

Thanks to the internet we have this unique chance now to really make a difference, to share our real life experiences with russia to open the eyes of those who just didn't have a clue or didn't care to know. Thanks to all of you , bloggers, for this hugely important work ! It gives me hope for humanity .
As to the failure to grasp the reality - well, living in the US since 1989,from Poland, I have to say one thing that seems obvious is the total lack of any media coverage of what was being said on russian TV for so long. The open threats and hostility are just shocking, and Ukrainians were hearing that for so long. We here were not shown any of that. I feel so angry that with all that aggressive rhetoric some countries still chose to tie their economy to putin. Nobody cared to see the truth, all they saw were profits.

Paul, at around minute 27/28 you mentioned President Biden stating no to F-16s. Everyone seems to forget (or just the news media) that towards the first few months of the war, a number of Ukranian pilots who were fluent in English were brought over state side to train. It's been nearly 7 or 8 months since they have been training. I could see them being the first flight of UA F-16s in the not too distant future. We have already pledged it. we just have to fulfill it.

Great interview. New person to follow. As an American, who for the first time saw interviews with leaders from eastern Europe after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, I think we have a lot to learn from these nations. It also made me realize how little about Europe was actually covered by US media, esp TV news; and what was covered, was mostly about "big" EU or NATO countries. I truly learned a lot from these eastern European leaders; and was even more amazed at how much faster these countries reacted and gave assistance, including military assistance, esp compared to their GDP and size.

Ruzzia invading Ukraine would be like Denmark taking Skåne, Halland and Blekinge in Sweden because they used to be Danish and then invade the rest of Sweden saying the Swedes are nazis oppressing the Danes in Skåne, Halland and Blekinge.

there is one fundamental thing, common for both UA and US. Both derive their identity from self organized/ governed free lands, built from bottom to top, where people from established societies would migrate/flee.
In Ukraine, the dominating character is associated with Zaporizha Sich (Запорізька Січ) - a wild place north of Azov Sea, with always elected and re-elected leadership, and long resistance to surrounding kingdoms.
Both having emerged basically the same century, yet the USA is the Sich that made it.

Paul, the reason the West didn't react to Russia until the full scale invasion is because historically Russia has ALWAYS had a strong autocratic leader with people who would rather be led than to get involved and expend the energy it takes to fight for, implement and sustain real change especially to sustain a democracy. You say it often that keeping a democracy working takes a lot of work and a huge commitment from a majority of the population! When Putin's authoritarianism couldn't be ignored or explained away, I think most in the West thought well it's just the Russian way and has been for centuries! They had the 90's but then Putin came in so non-authoritarianism didn't last long.

Sometimes, Paul, you seem naïve. First the Logistics Command is not infinite! They cannot snap their little finger and boing it is in Ukraine. This was especially true since the Ukrainian ability to accept logistics was small and it is expanding. Two, prepositioning of logistics and systems. You don't tell Russia like this tank thing, hurry up and attack now because UA is getting some pretty juicy stuff. It's a stupid idea. Three, like the GLSDB which has been worked on since 2016 to look at the use of SDB I and M26 motors have had feasibility studies and possible number (>65k possible) and Funding for mass production design has been released earlier in 2022. Boeing and SAAB are saying a high rate of construction is possible so when GLSDB do start shipping there will be a software update for the launchers, a tiny bit of crew training, and then dead Russians and depots and command post blowing up real good. Fourth, as for F16's we are more likely to replace MiG's and SU's, which will have some mods for NATO weapons and doctrine not training issues, and a very short logistical tail vs. F16's which are not the savior of Ukrainian people. Where do you place them? They need airfield defended and smooth. So now all that AD will be defended the highest priority airfields instead of the electrical grid? F16's need 20ish hours of ground work for every hour in the air by WELL TRAINED crew!!!!! NO! the Ukrainians cannot magically create well-trained crews faster that the US does now. NO! They are not magical and sometimes no matter what's going on you need to do the work. Will the US supply them in the future... Maybe. BUT that Ukrainian training queue needed is too much no matter what the Ukrainians think.
Also questions on "are you going to supply X?" are silly to ask. Again, what is the logistics of supply? What is the Ukrainian ability to take the supply and use it? How much will be lost in early delivery without a clear route to the front lines? Not Ukrainian corruption but in Russia's ability to find and destroy. It's far harder to hit a decent moving logistics chain with what Russia has than hitting a stuffed warehouse!!!
So what is the best response when you aren't going to be supplying a specific weapon in the next month or two, NO. If you want to believe the Russians the US and NATO are half-assing it. NATO is going to break up soon! Did you even know about the AGM-88 showing up and being used on NATO supplied MiG's? And I am glad you didn't. When I hear Ukraine ask for something and all the reporters ask "are you? are you?" I hear a no I think "for now" and I think about all the men and women through NATO trying to get crap to Ukraine, the 10's of thousands everyday. NO, the US and NATO are not half-assing and you are misusing your demand for transparency in a war time setting.
One last thing, when the Ukrainian teams were sent to train for the PzH 2000, they wanted a shortened course. The German obliged. After the first week, the Ukrainians asked to go through the whole course as designed by Germany. That was done, too. It takes the US about 18 months to train a ground crew member to fully train a mechanic with an F16 specialty and it takes extra supervision by a 8 yr plane boss. That's why F16's take 20ish hours under ground crews for every hour. This is not some bullshit story that if you are motivated by war you can do it in half the time!!! There are no short cuts here. It's why Abrams will be 6 to 8 months out and Tanks don't take the maintenance jets do. In fact you can lose a plane or maybe a pilot before you can afford a loss of a ground crew.
You talk about the Russian asymmetric use of propaganda, think about your questions and your statements. The constant, oh NATO and US only want to send enough to ruin each other. This is as stupid a position as Ukraine acting as if Poland was lying about the S300 missile landing in Poland and DEMANDING to be part of the investigation AS IF a Russian was whispering in the Ukrainian government "don't trust Poland or NATO, they'll betray us!" Watch what you repeat as if you are great visionaries and no one else sees the conspiracies!

@@markgarcia5845 Systems analyst and software management. You learn a different part of logistics, but I have felt I needed to know military history and current systems because we spend over half our budget on it. I do like knowing that in most cases we are trying to save military personnel lives. I am not sure I agree with all the goals we have for our military but I do believe most officers and enlisted are doing their best. I also think all those trainers and training development work hard at their jobs. I have actually read some of the materials and yeah, they can be boring when covering specific equipment but doctrine training is the hardest part.
