#LARGOWINCH
I found a new action hero franchise that dates back to the 1970s and yet few movie buffs know about Largo Winch. Tubi in the USA has the first movie streaming.

Largo Winch has been on my "I must watch this some time" list forever, but somehow never comes close to the top. I should probably change that.
Go for it. 😀
Glad the package arrived ok 🙂 My film buddy and I have been enjoying your channel for around five years now (I think the road movies video was the first one we watched), so we wanted to give something back 👍
Thanks so much, Marcus. I've watched the first movie and I'm bingeing the other two today. I really appreciate the kind gift.
I haven't seen the films (actually had no idea there were any!) so will check them out. One of them is on yt. The TV show was shot here in Montreal subbing for NYC. I used to see them shooting around town and liked to see how they used local landmarks as other European cities. Also used a lot of local actors that I recognized. Not surprised that they shot here especially with the tax breaks and at one point it wasn't unusual to see people reading the big euro comic hardcover books like Largo winch or Asterix on the bus and metro. Everything is on a tablet or phone now....
I have my Largo Winch graphic novels on tablet.
See, this is gold for me. From 1999 to 2015 I ghost wrote for the Executioner series of novels startedby Don Pendleton in 1969, and Largo Winch sounds exactly like the stuff I would enjoy. I mean, I love Tintin, so Belgian adventure series would be my cup. Thank you for opening my horizons.
Always happy to steer people toward the interesting stuff. The graphic novels are good, too.
You've sold me a Largo *_and_* a Winch so I'll keep my eye open for them as it looks so interesting.
Tubi US has it. Get the Opera Browser and use the VPN function.
never herd of them thanks for bringing them to my attenchin, i will be watching them as sone as i can find them
Try Tubi first. American Tubi has the first one if you can use a VPN. Opera browser has a built in VPN. 😀
@@terrytalksmovies thanks, yes i have a vpn now found the film, directions helped
I tried watching this when it was on the SBS channel. Unfortunately, I fell asleep halfway that night. I hope I can give it another chance in the future.
It's worth tracking down.
I am now going to have to find these and no doubt the graphic novels as well. You’re costing me money again!
That's my gig, @paulusthegrey . 😀😉
I watched it based on your recommendation and I found it harmless fun. I wouldn't say it betters or even matches mission impossible on any regard, to be honest, but I think it tries it own thing and I'll possibly watch the sequel. Didn't find the main actor charismatic, and to me the interesting character here was his father, Nerio. Definitely the action sequences were far behind mission impossible in terms of execution and excitement, at least from my POV, but you know what I loved? the gorgeous croatian coastline landscapes. Overall an interesting movie all things considered and I enjoyed it so thanks
The location choices are superb and not the usual cliches you get in American films shot in Europe.
@@terrytalksmovies absolutely, another thig I enjoyed though I wished they dedicated more screen time, was the political and economic intrigue, In particular. I think it'd been a better or at least more interesting movie to me(and that's personal taste) if it had been less action and more intrigue, particularly the economic and financial intrigue. Kristin scott thomas is as always very good, as it is the other english guy who plays Marcus, so I hoped they had given more screen time to her. She also had a very masculine last name, Ferguson, I couldn't imagine that they were talking about a woman, but that's possibly my manchester united allegiances speaking
The same stunt done for real in the opening sequence of Moonraker, not by Roger Moore though. Enjoy the Gamera trilogy. They are brilliant
Having the actor do it levels up the stunt. It's visceral and gutsy in a way no Roger Moore 007 ever was.
happy birthday! just had one myself and my gift to me was to go see "Late Night with the Devil"...which in many ways i was glad to have done- supporting a local product... but also wish I'd gone in with absolutely no preconceptions or knowledge about it! i think i will get more out of it when i have my own copy and can revel in the details- but it felt somewhat "lesser" than where some of its inspiration came--namely "Ghostwatch" which did a lot more with less. But the performances were good, even if the pacing was a little off. Kind of came way thinking, maybe this would've actually been more impressive as a stage production, just cos then the sense of a live experience might've felt more edgy...even though a Film thats as much about TV feels more intuitive.
Late Night With The Devil was great. Middle-Aged Geek Girl watched it at home on Shudder and really loved it.
A horror movie made on one location always has an added dose of paranoia.
I saw the series too it was on Polish tv for some time, a bit cheesy but fun. As I haven't read this comic I didn't know it was also Van Hamme's scenario. I grew up on Thorgal comic books he wrote the scenarios for the series, my childhood dream is still a Thorgal movie or series adaptation futuring Kriss de Valnor
You've given me another rabbit hole to explore! Thanks. 😀
Looks like a fun set of films - I’ll have to see where I can find them.
Tubi in the US has the first one. If you can get the Opera browser, it has a built in VPN which should let you access it.
Hmmm.... Salud cameleopard?
French films have always done personal fights the best. I vaguely remember seeing a French film with a bar fight with no sound effects. Having been a dust up or two myself, I "felt" the quiet violence much more intensely than the almost comical heavy sound effects driven American fights.
Be safe.
Largo Winch will definitely give you a bit of the biff in a gritty, tough way.
made a copy of 1st film yrs ago of tv-great movie
The second one is rock solid, too.
Can shots be fired accurately while in free fall? Moonraker had a similar scene of a fight after jumping out of a plane. The Mission Impossible films are fun for what they are but pretty forgettable. I can't remember how many there have been without looking it up. I was a fan of the original TV series and I like that better than the films. Sure, they are dated and very Cold War but I liked the team effort where they get in and out with the bad guys usual wondering what happened in the end. The films do all the corrupt people inside the CIA stuff over & over and the films focus on Cruise since he's the star. These films sound interesting. Found the first film in my library system.
Largo Winch 1 is on Tubi in the USA if you can use a VPN to access it.
Guns can be fired by parachutists. I can't see a reason why not.
This sounds very Jackie Chan 😸 particularly the fighting on top of skyscraper in Hong Kong.
Give it a go. Very different vibe than Jackie Chan.
Love your work!
Thank you! So do I! 😉😀📽
Largo Winch is on Tubi here in the US
HURRAY! Thanks!
Cool. Just checked with a VPN and yep. Thanks!
Weird enough that the Americans haven't made the remake this time as they do all the time with successful French movies.
It's an innately European story, fortunately.
Gamara- score! 🐢🐢🐢
The Gamera trilogy is great! I've already watched the first one.
👍👍
