That really is something very important you mention about your location being kept anonymous , because nice as people are some things are sacrosanct in your life , and it has to be that way. Given the way Twc drove yesterday, I'd say that engine is fundamentally sound. It would be great to see the engine refurbished. The rest of the car just seems to need preservation rather than restoration.

Yes, praise be that is a very small fibreglass 3 wheeler that stepped up to the plate and drove through a storm. Designed to do 25 mph on a sunny day to collect the weekly pension and buy corned beef and a newspape!. Love TWC.

Huh!! The antenna on the chimney in the background is pointing to the nearest transmission tower. By triangulating that with the time of day as seen on your watch and estimating the sun's position by the shadows cast I have calculated that you are somewhere in the UK!!!

My wife’s cousin had one of these! It was the late 60’s I had no idea how horrible it must have been to drive for her. There was no alternative to getting about independently for her. What a difference now!
Those 1960s ones were even worse than mine - two-stroke, 30mph max and a manual gearbox!
It’s amazing how much has changed in your world since you’ve brought us all along for the ride!

Great vlog ian, we can sense the emotional connection with tuk. It's such a shame you have to constantly cover your tracks and only film in one direction just to stop over friendly characters tracking you down. It's great you take time to make these fantastic videos for us as it is. Cheers.

If you are anything like me, I prefer ‘refurbish’ to restore. Repair and maintain only. If you are not careful you end up with a brand new old car and the original one has disappeared in the process. Good luck with the move!

You could try that oil additive other bloggers rave about. Can't recall the name but you just add to engine oil and it's supposed to rejuvenate RUBBER seals, they swell up and reseal.
You have nothing to loose, if I doesn't work your back to a rebuild.
TWC has such great charm. Incredible drive in the storm yesterday.
Good Luck with moving all the stuff over. Definitely get TWC a going over before the oil leaks get too bad. It is such a friendly little car.
Should carry out a full on advertisement campaign , national television and radio should suffice, start by teasing the public of the location, then divulge the location, sell tickets and charge for selfies with your good self, autographed photos could bring in even more, the potential is enormous and the economy would receive a much welcome boost. Boris will acknowledge your effort and you'll become famous. The awkward owners of the property will soon jump on board and thank you for it even.

Used to have a dealer selling those where I live in addlestone surrey in the 60 s and 70 s so remember them well

I'm of the opinion that it's up to the owner how far they go with restoration. Someone else might find an old banger in a field and spend a fortune getting into pristine concours condition - I have no problem with that.
Other people: ooh, this older car is quite rare, must be gentle, garage it, trailer it to shows, keep it out of bad weather...

Might be worth looking at finding solutions to making TWC's electrics a little more efficient so if you end up having to drive her in the wet with the lights on again, you don't run the risk of conking out due to lack of juice (maybe a new dynastart or the use of capacitors maybe) but I'm loving the location of your new unit, ever so slightly jealous lol
after a strong tea with added irish to steady the nerves of last video's madness and my stupid ways twc gets some needed rest in the new unit, which isn't a barn, though it looked it,

Try putting decent engine oil (Esso) in TWC first. And I don't mean 'old engine' oil but the good stuff. Hopefully rubbery seals will be given a new lease of life.
I had issues with my X Reg Vectra Estate with the "Check Engine" warning coming on constantly. Took it to the dealer, several times, but they could not find any fault, except to say that probably the car's brain was probably faulty and needed replacing. Approx £1500, so I don't have my Vectra any more. Shame because it was a nice car.
Re:charging, if the alternator can charge the battery when all the electrics aren't used then either the battery is failing and not charging properly or the alternator is undersized. Ideally you need to either work out what the total electric draw is by calculation or find someone with a decent DC ammeter and measure it that way. With those figures you can then tell whether the alternator is undersized or not.
It isn't an alternator, but a Dynastart unit that provides charge AND starts the engine. I suspect the belts aren't being entirely effective.
Don't underestimate the power of twc 💪
Open the doors so that TWC dries even better in the sun.

you should really by a transit size tow truck and a spec trailer for moving all your cars around to shows ect

Good luck with all the moving you seem to take on a lot without much help. I'm not sure i could cope with a visit with you. It's too chaotic. (with extreme weather as well) You could come to Basildon again... I think it's safe.
I am with you on the "oily rag" restoration principle, make it sound and roadworthy but as original as possible.
Bear in mind when moving that the towed vehicle has to be road legal unless it's on a trailer.
It'd definitely be on a trailer. Not a fan of flat towing.

I feel your pain where oil leaks are concerned... I resurrected a diesel a mk3 golf that spent 8 yrs in a hedge.... I’ve proceeded to just use or thrash for about 10,000mls and like TWC it needs attention as oil is oozing out like the Exon Valdez and it doesn’t go down well with the neighbours or the greenies when it’s left it’s mark behind every where you go
