The lady in the video is amazing...I'm sure the guys learned a lot from her as she did mostly ALL of the work! Guys move out of the way and let HER rest!!!! Way to go lady!!!!!
Wow! This gives me hope! We finally paid a landscaper to just gut up all the plants and tiny trees in our yard and we're hoping to plant grass in the bare areas and get healthier grass throughout. Great job!
I love all the work you did. I wish you would have discussed your thought process, ideas and how you slopped the retaining wall. So much thought process and design ideas for the fire pit. I love it all. Wish you would have talked through it. Love the final process. Great job and a wonderful inspiration. Thank you for sharing the motivation that we need to push through big projects.
Really love the openness of the properties with simple fences 😊 here in California it seems that the higher the fence the better. Hydroseed is so nice for a lawn 👍 dang girl I said it once and I'll say it again 😉 you kick booty 😜👍💪💪
nice work! a tip on the pavers from someone who's done alot of hardscaping. on the curves cut every other paver on each side (2 cuts on each side of the 1 paver) for a very smooth transition around the curves (no triangular gaps). you guys did a ton of work but are rewarded with spectacular results. well done!
It looks just beautiful what an outstanding job and it looks so professional a lot of work I know but wow look at the outcome congratulations enjoy for many years to come.
If everyone worked together like this, everyone could own a tiny eden. That's how it should be, helping each other so that everyone can share and have something to be proud of, not compete and try to keep up with the Joneses.
Wow what a beautiful backyard. two other figures you forgot to include in your budget having friends and doing it yourself priceless. Where did the stairs lead up to the next level. Maybe consider putting in a multi level deck if it's off the kitchen.
The stairs lead to the driveway. It's a wonky set up and the only way to get from the front to the back yard is to go down those stairs. It made delivery of materials quite difficult! Thankfully we were able to use our neighbor's driveway.
Its far better than the before backyard but its doesn't look like newly renovated. Maybe because you added too little plants?? Please add more shorter Plants under your vines in your fences to add definition to the edges. Cheap bricks can be use too to make the plant beds look separated from your beautiful Lawn. And don't forget to add more and more flowers, i'm sure your Yard can become more beautiful and whimsical over time. Your dedication and efforts are ended amazing. Please Continue a Happy Gardening Life.God Bless :)
you know, I was thinking that at first, but then told myself to remember we don't know the time and health limitations of the people involved, maybe she had a lot more time available to work on it, plus just because he doesn't have any obvious mobility issues there can be plenty of unseen conditions that can limit a person's physical activities.
10:29 It looks fantastic. What is next? the concrete blocks coming down the stairs to the yard (11:30), does not measure up to the rest of your yard now. One the second note, I also noticed the lady that was laying down all the patio bricks & fire pit area. GREAT job. I'll hire you anytime : )
Wonder if there's some kind of aesthetic treatment you could apply to those cinder-blocks. Or just paint them with some kind of rough paint in a complimentary color to the brick? The yard looks fantastic, and the young lady must have muscles of steel!!
I would of been tempted to put down a layer of" Geotex" landscaping fabric before laying pavers. Stops the weeds and ants getting through your nicely laid patio!
To wear a young persons boots and simply helping was always fun for me 😎 awesome friends like yourself are always appreciated even by strangers like myself 😉 keep it up 😊😎
The finished project looks so nice that it's too bad that the bottom foundation part of the house is that ugly plain concrete block that doesn't match the attractive brick above it.
Dani Sartori That sounds tacky. Painting them will not change the look significantly. I suggest you stucco over them for a nicer look that will compliment the house.
I love trees, but the placement of them is so important. I sadly would have removed the 2 trees growing within a foot or two of the one corner of the house. And having had parents who used wood heat for the whole house for years, I wouldn't stack the woodpile against the house! Inviting problems into any future foundation cracks, etc. Move it out in the yard, plus that way it's closer to the fire pit anyway.
I ended up building a full-size firewood shed the following year. It's in the same place at the back of the garage, but it's set about a foot away from the concrete wall.
Hi wonderful job on the yard transformation. Did you ever get a chance to paint the cinder blocks & post a pic? I know this is an old video but I was looking for inspiration for my family for us to build a fire pit and now at least I'm inspired to diy work on the entire backyd instead of paying someone else to do it. Well at least the fire pit & stone area around it.
Your hardwork and determination paid off because you were left with a beautiful yard to enjoy!!
This is the kind of girl you want to marry! Amazing yard. Thank you for sharing!

Lovely work! Now all it needs is for the foundation concrete blocks on the house to be painted a nice color that will blend with the patio bricks!!

Wow... amazing! That is a fantastic user-friendly backyard makeover.

We have since painted the cinder blocks a brown tone that works with the brick and the roof!
Its beautiful.

cover over the CMU? are you kidding? it looks great!
Is the young lady in the boots for hire? 😎😉 she's the backbone of the project 😊
yeah, I kept thinking 'wow, that lady works her ass off!'
Ha, thanks! I love hard work, especially if it's outdoors. This was a fun project!
To wear a young persons boots and simply helping was always fun for me 😎 awesome friends like yourself are always appreciated even by strangers like myself 😉 keep it up 😊😎
The finished project looks so nice that it's too bad that the bottom foundation part of the house is that ugly plain concrete block that doesn't match the attractive brick above it.
hebneh
My thoughts exactly. How about covering it up with stucco to match the brick? That's a very common solution in other parts of the country.
I wondered if it would look any better if power-washed, but perhaps they had done that.
First thought I had was cover it with a water feature, vertical planters, vines and/or a garden mural.
I know; those concrete blocks are so ugly. We are finally sealing and painting them this summer!
Dani Sartori
That sounds tacky. Painting them will not change the look significantly. I suggest you stucco over them for a nicer look that will compliment the house.
at least now u know why the landscape companies we're charging so much money it's hard work.
No kidding!
Amazing music guys.

I ended up building a full-size firewood shed the following year. It's in the same place at the back of the garage, but it's set about a foot away from the concrete wall.
Well done. Now, put stones over the lower house walls and it'll be perfect.
