Insane Power from the Flex Volt Stud/Joist Drill

- Quick little video I whipped up while I had a rain delay from building. Typically all I use this drill for is to install 1/2" bolts through our post to truss connection or post to bracket connections. Most drill will suffice for the application. However, large hole saws.....will kill most drills. Not the Flex volt from Dewalt. This test never even phased it. At the end you can see the Milwaukee Super Hawg has no issues Either, and if you are in the market for a new drill, I can promise neither of these drills will disappoint. I'd go with which ever works into your battery lineup.

This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things czcams.com/users/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.
That’s what a floor joist looks like after a plumber gets near it
You're not wrong there 🤣🤣
I've seen them do that on a eye beam I was like wtf
@@hi-ye4rz If you look up the safe drilling sizes and spacings on engineered joist (I beam) you may be surprised to learn just how big a hole you can drill. Typically the hole will take a 110mm soil pipe which seems alarming but in the right size joist is fine.
No one wants a framer’s house, without the plumber’s plumbing in it.
Awesome shop! That garage door is huge. I really like all the open space and not interior supports to get in the way. Need a shop tour.
Thanks Bud. Shop tour down the road for sure
It's the holesaw, for those who never used FlexVolt line of blades and holesaws, they definitely pass the quality test AND they make your batteries last a hell of a lot longer, the only thing I will say is that they do not last as long as other blades, usually a good quality mitersaw 12" $120 dollar blade will last me 12-13 months and the FlexVolt one lasts me about 8-10 months, but doing the math on price 2 FlexVolt blades cost just as much as 1 good quality one,so it's the best bang for the buck
Awesome! Gotta definitely check out that Dewalt Tool.
FlyTecAudio it's a beast
AWESOME ! ! ! Thanks for making this video :)
Chip evacuation is why that bit cuts so fast. A normal hole saw doesn’t evacuate chips or even dust for that matter and it build up on the teeth. Keep up the great vids. I’m glade I’m not the only one that loves to work!
That thing is huge!!
The one thing I Appreciate in this video is the time it took to get the RV off to the side of the garage door .
What is the best cordless to drill though metal e.g. industrial rivets in the control arms of my car?
Can I ask what color you painted the plywood on your walls of your shop? I love the look with the white steel above it
Nice shop.
That beast is to me the most impressive of the flexvolt line. you should try the big hawg hole saws the plug just drops out so easily
hands down the best
I have a silly question. Who are the makers of those pants you are wearing?? With the T logo on them ??
Hey mate ....love your work.Could you do a walk through video of that unreal motorhome you have please?
lol sold it and got a different one
Is that drill very heavy? Looks like it would be because it's so big.
is this guy in construction if so he's making some money with all the toys in the background
Heck Yeah I build everyday.... you see the rest of my channel?
how many holes with a battery charge DEWALT drill
Que tal mi amigo será que ese taladro perfora la madera de chico sapote
Saludos soy de poptun Petén Guatemala
Kyle, I am sorry for stupid question. Did you ever try to drill holes like that with impact wrench, 2962 Milwaukee for example. Interestin can it be effective like a hole saw. If not... never try never know)) Sorry i just havent these tools so cant compare and try
Bro is that your shop?!? Good God that's gorgeous
Michael Amendola yes sir. Thanks
I thought that the Dewalt would be bult and uncomfortable to use compared to tge super hawg but the dewalt was lighter and more comfortable to use and definitely more powerful I think Dewalt hit it out of the park going with 60v i don't think 18v can corded power but 60v can
Really is hard to compete with the flex volt isn't it
Run time as you had it set up on the dewalt would be two and a half swiss cheesed beams.
When somebody invents an easy way to get those off cuts out of the holesaw...Instant millionaire
David Handley check out pro fit holesaw se mate
A bit of wax on the inside of the holesaw has worked wonders for me.
just put it in reverse and blip the throttle a few times, it falls right out.
That’s what I wanted to hear.
Mr.Kyle it took you longer to take out the wood piece that it did to drill the hole!!
9.0 battery ?
When in reality you drill holes from the top with full force. Try to do it and keep the drill above your head or verticall. That wood is soft too. Anyway what job requires cutting holes these big in joices ? And one more thing how you gonna put that monstrosity between joices or hard to get areas ?
@FoxRcng708 no just real
What brand pants are those?
truewerk T2 work pants . love them
Oh cool. Thanks
That dewalt stud joist drill can you drill into concrete with it?
Not what it’s made for
You need a hammer drill for that. Or the equivalent to this would be a rotary hammer drill
Put the drill in reverse and blip the trigger a few times, the plug will fall out of the hole saw.
Seems strange to not show it in normal speed.
Would be much happier about owning this drill but apparently they forgot to add the chuck screw to mine...
Is it really faster if you gotta spend twice as long plucking out the cores?
Cup & Cone you have to pluck cores with any hole saw
Lol all those holes.
show your self in the thumbnail more so when people r scrolling through the can c it’s your videos your videos r cool
Thats not a hole saw bit thats a 3 tooth bit
Dewalt have come far, they are making far superior tools than Makita, Milwaukee, Metabo, I've recently sold all my makita gear to get the new Dewalt tools, batteries are cheaper, and better guarantee that makita tools
k
I told my buddy if he could stop my cordless drill with his hands I would give him $500.....
take a video
total production porn right here
I much prefer the m18 fuel super hawg. Better platform
Matthew Dinasky I do like how it uses the m18 battery line.
I have 4 of them with the 9amp hr batteries they run forever
Always the one person who has no life to comment about milfucker on a clearly noticeable dewault video
So you like inferior product, must be a Hillary supporter
is this an ad? or a brag?
