Being he's a Michelin chef, I get where Ramsay is less than enthusiastic about how the food tastes in the military. But, honestly, when you're burning 4000 calories a day I doubt flavor is the biggest thing on people's minds. Reminds me of a line from Renaissance Man when a drill sergeant is telling army recruits in the cafeteria to eat all the food on their trays, "You can taste it later!"
Yeah, obviously preparation like that in the field isnt a realistic option practically ever, and if it is itll be by a mess facility anyway. Im split 50/50 on it being a spicy option. MREs and the like generally do cause motility issues, which is the last thing anyone wants, so spice may be a good option to alleviate that. But, the other extreme is also not desirable, just ask the lads in the Falklands.

Gordon Ramsay did play futbol / soccer when he was younger, before his injury, so he was somewhat of an athlete at one point so he might be able to hang with them for a bit

Royal marines Commandos 32 weeks basic training.
USMC 13 weeks basic.
They’re not the same at all. Royal Marines are closer to 75th Rangers or alike in terms of training time.. not just ranger tab, but 75th or other dedicated ranger reg. Or another analogous unit… marines .vs marines… It’s apples and oranges with same name and both amphibious based.
@@peter-radiantpipes2800 Yeah the 75th are WW2 copies of the commandos. The 1st and 29th Rangers were trained by the commandos. Look it all up.
