I think what is missing is not a bigger downtown with more high rises but a bigger area to go from high rises to single family houses. Right now it's very very quick. That means medium height and also small plots of high rises (like 2x3 and 2x2)

it's like that for everyone, even those with top of the line rigs. The game just needs to be better optimized, there's little we can do about it sadly.

I had same problem I solved this by changing the windows screen refresh rate to 60 hertz and now my game runs perfect. I have a beast setup but it seems like the higher refresh rate makes the simulation run like crap. Make sure you match the in game resolution to the windows one also so the game dont stutter

Please do a video soon on your transit overview! It would be cool to see how sims are utilizing your transit network.

If you place commercial high rises, some will become hotels! Right now you have no in downtown according to the map you showed. I think it only got available at a point when you had already placed the buildings. The residential buildings need to be build new in order to become hotels.
Maybe that will also help with the amount of tourists:D

I think you missed a chance to do something that Boston did in real life and that's reclaim land. I wouldve dried up that river and that would've been a basin for the passenger railroad system and station, maybe an elevated expressway, and also reclaim land out in the ocean as well.
But i love the way you worked around it and made Bixton a Pittsburgh on the ocean with the river.

I have some dark days too from clouds and rain etc. Although, I think the extra darkness you’re experiencing is partially a function of the Tampere map you are building on. The weather for that map has more overcast and rain than other maps if I’m not mistaken. Anyway Love your content. Bixton is a Beautiful city.

You should definitely up-zone some of your medium-density/rowhouses to high-density. Start unlocking those unique buildings while keeping the population stable. In general, I think the building heights need to gradually decrease from downtown to the outskirts of town, instead of random pockets of small buildings between skyscrapers or tall buildings out of nowhere.
As for landmarks, you were looking at downtown BIXTON, but what about downtown Auburn or Quincy Harbor? The National Art Museum seems to fit a college town well, and the statue and maybe castle could fit the small-town aesthetic of either Quincy Harbor or Sunnyside. Maybe the statue is of Mr. Quincy, one of the founders? Also, with the budget of the Greater Bixton Area reaching 1 billion dollars, I have no doubt some billionaire might want a castle up the slope from Mountainside in the nature park.

Looks like Vancouver BC Canada and Detroit Michigan/Windsor Ontario had a baby and this city is it.
In real life the building of a church at the expense of moving a crematoria/funeral parlor into a residential block, destroying those homes, would set off a firestorm of riots. It would be less upsetting and more socially acceptable if the crematoria was never even mentioned to the public and the homes bought by a church to built at that location. While the most appealing and likely most common development would be that the crematoria is demolished and a church built in its place. Then again, there are very few historical or significant houses of worship of any kind or any faith in the USA that sit directly in downtowns let alone other places. Missions in California and a few cathedrals in Boston, Philly, NYC, DC, etc that date back to our founding and before remain few and far between. Others like the cathedral complex the Air Force uses are away from urban centers. I think the houses of the holy in the middle of town seem to be more of a European thing.
Lastly - Increase the speed at which you process the deceased - INTO SOYLENT GREEN!!!

    • @mygetawayart

it's mainly because of how the building looks. It fits nicely with a low-medium density theme. Plus, it helps to place it near where the population lives so the hearses will have to travel less
