Wow! I’ve always wondered what all modeling paste can do for art. Your video is truly an inspiration and makes me want to try something on a much smaller scale of course. Hoping a beginner like me can make it happen. Thanks so much!
Wow, thanks for your kind words! We're so glad this has been a helpful resource!
That is awesome Bob! Thank you!!
Hardware stores are great too. AND thrift stores, for finding cool things with which to make patterns in the modeling paste.
Thank you 💕
Thank you for uploading this video, I am grateful for it!
You're very welcome!

So glad to hear that Marzy. Keep Creating!
Great video.. love the picture on the left.. is there a video for that so I can get a proper look at it??
Thanks, sorry there is not.
Wondering, what kind of table or support is it, that you have the canvas on?
I have large drawing table. Top can be adjusted to any height or level
I would also like to know what type of table Bob is working on in this video. Unfortunately, we don't sell that table. We do sell a few drafting tables. You can view the selection of drafting tables that we sell on this page of our website. search.jerrysartarama.com/search?w=table
One more subscriber, I love your work!
Welcome aboard Roxanna! Thanks so much. Keep creating!
You mention having the texture up to an inch thick, have you ever had any issues with the impasto medium cracking?
Steve, that's a great question! Sorry it's taken us so long to get back to you. The Modeling Paste Medium is designed to get achieve the super thick layers without cracking because it has the acrylic (plastic-ish) qualities that hold the shapes together. It might shrink ever so slightly which is typical of acrylics, but no cracking!
Technique starts at 3:00
Thanks Joanne
Where do you buy such large canvases?
Hi Cherri,
you can see the larger size canvases Bob used here on our website using this link www.jerrysartarama.com/paramount-3-4-inch-cotton-canvas
Thank you and have a wonderful day!
thank you so much, i was looking for an alternative to wax!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
What medium do you use for the 3D effect?
Bob is using a Modeling Paste! Here is a link to check it out:

Thanks Bob. I just waterboarded the 16 people that gave you the thumbs down, your welcome :)
That is inappropriate, as waterboarding is a form of torture.
Hello, curious what brand of modeling paste this is??
Hello, Andrea. From the container, I can tell that Bob is using Golden modeling paste in the video. You can view that paste on this page of our website. www.jerrysartarama.com/golden-paste-mediums
@@JerrysartaramaArtSupply thank you so much!
Good instruction. Wish the camera work was better.
Does he mention that a bucket of that impasto medium is around $75?
Thank you for contacting us. You do not need to buy a whole gallon of acrylic modeling paste to try out Bob Rankin's texture technique. You might want to buy a smaller size to experiment and see if you like his method of creating texture. We carry several different brands and sizes of acrylic modeling paste at very reasonable price points. You might want to look at the Liter size of Talens Amsterdam Modeling Paste www.jerrysartarama.com/talens-amsterdam-expert-acrylic-mediums LUKAS also sells a 500ml size of Universal Modeling Paste on this page of our website www.jerrysartarama.com/lukas-acrylic-mediums.
A great video, but more close up shots would have been helpful.
Noted!
anyone else imagining that is frosting?
